MFL users & commish-- can you explain this?? (1 Viewer)

In my 10 team league I run-- we have what i thought was a really simple 6 team playoff bracket.

Top 2 get byes, next 4 in seeded off of record w/ points as the tie breaker.

1st round looks like this:

1 Seed (10-3, high points, division champ)

2 seed (9-4, 2nd in points, division champ)

3 seed (10-3, 3rd in points, 2nd place in 1 seeds division)

4 seed (7-6)

5 seed (6-7, more points than 6 seed)

6 seed (6-7)

So the 3 seed wins, but the 5 seed upsets the 4 seed.

So the 4 remaining teams are:

1 seed, 2 seed, 3 seed, and 5 seed.

For some reason-- MFL has the semifinal matchups as

1 seed vs 3 seed

2 seed vs 5 seed

Am I missing something here??

The only thing I can think of is that 1 & 3 are in the same division and 2 and 5 are in the same division? Like a conference final type of scenario??

Help!!!!

I'm not sure how MFL specifically works, but NFL.com does not re-arrange matchups based on who won. So in the NFL, the #1 seed would play the lowest seed team advancing to the Divisional Round. On NFL.com, the brackets are pre-determined. That sounds like it's the same situation with MFL. Think of it like the NCAA Basketball Tourney.

You can specify who plays who.  You have to manually adjust.  I assume you want the highest seed to play the lowest seed?

You have to reseed on MFL manually

Commish Setup > Playoff Setup > Playoff Schedule Setup

Go to Week 15 and switch the top two seeds.  You probably have Seed 1 playing the winner or Game 1, and Seed 2 playing the winner of Game 2 (or vice versa).  Switching them will fix your problem.

The answer is that MFL doesn't know how a properly-seeded bracket works.  Open a support ticket with them, and hopefully when enough of us do this they will fix their ####.

In the meantime, you have to fix the seedings manually.

It's a real treat when you have 2 conferences with 2 divisions each, and you want to have each conference seeded 1-4 independently.
