I was a long time myfantasyleague subscriber. I took an hiatus last season but restarting again this year. I heard they were going to introduce auction drafting on the website but not sure if they instilled it or not. If so has anyone used this option and how does it compare let's say to free ESPN?

Well Phenoms with Unlucky did 2 trial drafts using the new auction setup. Long story short - the rest of the auctions are being done on ESPN and transported to MFL. We had a problem with nomination process in our draft.

We did MFL auction last year, and it was by far inferior to ESPN. I have heard that it has made improvements but is still lacking in overall quality etc. We had some users that were very upset over the inability to place bids at certain times. So we will be sticking with ESPN for a while. It not only works, but it works well and is easy to use.

I too ran a live, online auction on MFL last year. I'm usually pretty pleased with their service, but our auction was pretty disastrous. To be fair, the feature was clearly marked as BETA last season, but it was rough going. There were lots of issues with nominations, and several people complained that they placed bids that didn't go through. Once more, "rolling back the clock" on incorrect bids / nominations proved to be very difficult. Thankfully, customer service dropped in and took control of our auction and fixed some things.

Right now, my plan is to see what sort of corrections have been made for this year. If they've taken the BETA off and fixed the bugs, then we'll roll with them again. If they haven't, then I'm going to be moving the entire league to another service. The league I host there is way too basic to justify the cost of MFL, especially if they cannot properly handle a live auction.

Did MFL have any official feedback on the problems?

i.e. are there any tweaks or improvements coming to make it more stable for 2012 use?

Just wanted to update this thread, as my league ended up scheduling a very last minute auction that prevented me from moving the auction elsewhere. We used MFL again, and the bugs this year were worse than last.

I'm not going to pile on, as I've already expressed my disappointment to the company and outlined the bugs we uncovered.

But if any of you are planning on using their auction room, you should take the time to auction elsewhere. We had a BIG problem today that has people seriously pissed, and I'm not referring to the usual inconveniences of a buggy interface, which I was expecting.
