Watch Armando Salguero's blog, this changes by the minute Today "Changes coming to Dolphins lineup: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/What's up. I was wondering if any of the Miami homers are hearing much on Williams and Brown. Pretty much same breakdown that we saw last week?
It seems that both Brown and RW are the types of backs who need carries to get into some sort of a rhythm. Its a shame that Soprano isnt smart enough to figure that out. I guess he doesnt mind the lack of running game that is sure to follow all year. What's up. I was wondering if any of the Miami homers are hearing much on Williams and Brown. I guess you own both?Ronnie is getting more 1st team reps this week and has moved ahead of Ricky on the depth charts. They'll both get carries again this week with maybe Ronnie getting the majority. It seems that both Brown and RW are the types of backs who need carries to get into some sort of a rhythm. Which is exactly why I'm dropping Ricky. Note; Last night's updated official Dolphins depth chart did not change at the tailback position but it was updated (left blank compared to last week) for a new OG and new FB after the cut of Boomer Grigsby. Ricky Williams still tops the halfback position on the Depth Chart regardless of what happened at practice today.Agreed.Rotoworld . . .Which is exactly why I'm dropping Ricky. Ronnie Brown worked ahead of Ricky Williams at Dolphins practice Wednesday.
The Dolphins' staff has made formal depth chart switches in practice at several other positions in the last few weeks (e.g. free safety, wide receiver) and we could have another one here. Williams took first-team handoffs throughout training camp and the preseason. While a carry split is still certain for Week 2, Brown is the more valuable fantasy back if he's starting. Anyone who isn't blind could see that Ronnie was running better than Ricky. It was very clear. Ricky looked his age. This is also why Ronnie is taking more first team snaps at practice this week. Barring a setback with his knee injury, I expect Ronnie to start.Todem said:The team was not happy with their OL play at all and Thomas our rookie suprise at LG is out for the year after he tore up his ankle in the first quarter but continued to play on it the entire game.
As a homer my best guess at this point of the wekk is Ricky will start again. But I don't think it is really going to matter. This will be a 2 back attack all season long.
Ronnie owners think he looked crisper (he looked decent)....but Ricky also ran very hard (and was very quick to the tiny cracks they called holes last Sunday) and was wide open for an easy TD pass that Chad missed him on. Both backs were not that impressive in reality. The running game stunk. Also they were throwing out Patrick Cobbs on 3rd downs (dumb move) and that will not happen this week IMO.
This is going to be a fantasy nightmare for those who were banking on Ronnie as their RB2. Those of us using Ricky as weekly flex option at RB3 (when needed) are still sitting pretty because he will be heavily involved enough each week to give us the 7-10 points we are trying to get out of him as a flex therefore eating into the production Ronnie owners were thinking they were going to get. I have been singing the same song since May. Ronnie is not going to be a workhorse back with this team as long as Ricky is healthy and running hard and Parcells and Sparano are running the show. And chances are based on Ronnie history he will miss some time again this year as he always seems to and Ricky will carry the load those games he may be out. I am not one who predicts injuries but it is well known that you always can expect certain players to miss games every year if that has been their MO in the league. Ronnie is one of those guys that seems to always get either banged up (sprained thumbs) or suffer big injuries (broken wrist, shredded knee)
I got the point, I just disagree that RB will be in an even split all year. If that's why he won't be a no.2. If you think the line is so bad that he won't be a viable #2 getting 65%+ of the carries, then that's a different story as I know nothing about their line.Your both missing the point.Ronnie is IMO not going to be a vialble RB2 this year. Get used to seeing plenty of Ricky and Ronnie. Take your blinders off.If I owned Ronnie I would be singing the same song. I am talking and posting this as a Dolphins fan.

Doesn't Ricky Williams have a pretty long list of injuries throughout his career as well? I remember him missing time in his first two years, and I believe he broke his leg in the CFL, and last year he lasted about one play before being out for the season. He seems as brittle as RB.Todem said:The team was not happy with their OL play at all and Thomas our rookie suprise at LG is out for the year after he tore up his ankle in the first quarter but continued to play on it the entire game.

what do you make of him taking first team snaps? i didn't see the game, just the stats. If you think Ronnie played better than Ricky you didnt watch the game.Every time Ricky was in, there was an 8-man front waiting for him. Brown also missed a block that led to a huge sack, and lined up incorrectly forcing us to burn a timeout in the 4th Q. Those are big mistakes that will keep him from getting more touches.
yet a pair of fumbles by Ricky keeps him in the game because...?If you think Ronnie played better than Ricky you didnt watch the game.

[Assuming this was a response to todem]Umm, OK Ricky owner, thanks for the unbiased opinion...
