Miami Marlins (1 Viewer)

What do we think of Ozuna here...
He was rushed to the majors last year so he doesn't have a long minor league resume to base anything on. He's young so there's opportunity for development but I don't think he brings either the plus power or speed you want from an OF. He's also currently buried near the bottom of the batting order.

Came within 1 of the cycle last night. Sparked the offense.

He played Single A ball in the Florida League, some baseball aficionado was on the radio this morning, said guys don't hit a lot of HRs in that particular league so he might have a little more power than we think. He is batting 7th but I would expect if he continues to flourish they will move him up in the line up. Marlins had other guys who performed a lot better in ST but they went ahead and let Ozuna have it based on last season. He is under the gun to hold the roster spot so we are gonna see his best for the time being.

Stanton hits one 485 feet tonight over the Budweiser Bar in center field, oh my. This team is looking good early. Can't wait to see Fernandez again tomorrow night. I'll grow tired of Baseball when the draft gets closer unless the Marlins are seriously gonna win 80+. Their competition has been minimal so far but then again, who are the Marlins? You get a returning 100 loss team you gotta be thinking you will win the series.

Marlins up 5-0 again tonight.

Stadium looks pretty empty, disappointing.

Love watching Stanton and got to see him locally for AA JaxSuns and crush a ball out of the park and cross the street in the air.

But why on Earth he ever sees anything close to a strike is beyond me.

Gotta be fun to buy a cheap ticket and enjoy $1 beer night.

Tonight's attendance at #Marlins Park: 17,783.
I expect around 20,000-25,000 tonight. Heat have been in town quite a bit this week. I don't usually get there early but I plan on it tonight.

35,000+ last night, nearly a sellout. Fernandez did not have his best stuff last night and Cashner from SD pitched just as good IMO. The error by the SD SS for Stanton when he was at the plate really seemed like the difference. Once Miami went up 2-0, things got a lot easier.

We parked in a lot marked West 3, tough to find any signs but once we parked there, lots of fans tailgating, swapped a tequila shot for some wonder Jamaican Jerk Chix, the lot was directly across from the 1B entrance which was directly behind our seats in Sec 5. Seats were good although we were a couple sections past 1B so we were a little closer to the outfield than I like but the easiness of park lot, entrance, and then to seat was ridiculous especially with 35,000 there. When the game ended we were in our car and out of there inside of 5-10 minutes, total breeze.

For anyone that might want to go to a Marlins game or come into Miami and catch your team, couple promotions I think are pretty sweet.

1. All you can eat Mondays, $22 in the outfield, $32 for the Lexus level, pick the latter and you have some sweet seats.

2. Half price Tuesday, you can get tickets for most home games on Tue half price in 3-4 sections. $14 for the Lexus level is the best bargain or you can go super cheap and get and outfield seat for about $7-$8.

Cheers

Ozuna hit two long opposite field outs today against Kennedy & a reliever. His power impressed me even though it'll look like 0 for 2 in the boxscore. He still needs to get out of the 8 hole to improve his counting stats.

Agreed but on this team with such few stars on offense, if he can continue to hit .300+, only a matter of time until he is batting closer to the top of the line up.

Marlins stats are inflated against terrible teams so far IMO. I haven't heard of many of the starters on the Rockies or Padres.
