Miami's D (1 Viewer)

The Top 250 Forward has Miami pretty highly ranked, but in our league they are so far the worst defense in the league.

They have a couple of favorable matchup coming up (Oak, injured Hou, and Cle) can they start producing better numbers on defense?

I haven't seen any of their games but two of their three oponents so far have been pretty week offenses (Was and NYJ). Any homers out there think there's hope?

Miami fan here and long time FF player.

No they will not turn it around. Our secondary is a wreck, Jason Taylor is being handled and MAtt Roth has failed to break out as we thought he would to free up the double and triple teams Taylor is getting. Our Tackles are also not playing well.

The defense is showing it's age and lack of depth and the secondary is just flat out bad.

We are well on our way to a top 3 pick in the draft.

The Titans D is looking good if you can shelve them during their Bye week and have a few easy matchups as well after the bye week. The thing that scares me about Miami's D is that they may have hit that wall where a re tooling is needed. Due to the high average age , they will fall faster from the good defences.

At least Ricky Williams can apply for reinstatement on Oct 1

I am a Fins homer as well, and the post above is 100% right. I thought the additions of Joey Porter and Ted Ginn as a return man would be huge. So, so wrong. This is a below average D, Ginn looks very average as a return man so far, and the sports writers in Miami are suggesting that they trade JT for draft picks. I dropped them today for Green Bay.

I would've cut them for Tampa Bay this week... but they play Indy the one week i would really need them. Miami plays Houston, so i'll rely on them if i have to... but I'll probably pick up Tenn, who plays Joey Harrington and the Falcons when the Vikings have their BYE week 5.

I'm a Dolphin fan and I believe that the defense will improve.

Jason Taylor does have a history of starting slow...I'd bet that last year's defensive MVP will eventually start getting more pressure and causing more havoc. He came out and said that he "sucks" right now. He will begin to produce and the entire defense will benefit.

Travis Daniels has been moved to safety and this will help. Daniels is limited as a corner and many believe that free safety is his more natural position.

Porter is still learning the schemes and remember that he didn't get a chance to practice due to his surgery. Porter will eventually develop chemistry with the line and I think it has a chance to be successful.

I agree, they are having trouble stopping anyone, especially w/o Thomas. I do not forsee a turnaround thus I cut them for the Tenn D. Only bright side for MIA D/ST is if Ginn handles KO/punt return duties and can take a couple to the house.

3 good looking games coming up for Miami D though:vs Raiders@ Texans@ Browns
Actually, if you had to list three offenses who had played the most surprisingly well this season, it might be exactly those teams.Last week's game against the Jets notwithstanding, the Dolphins' D's biggest problem is that the offense generally can't stay on the field, and the defense's older players need rest more than most.My step-brother has the Miami D (in a league I don't play in), and I've been begging him to drop them.
