LawFitz ... Where is the "inside info" that you have been running your mouth about ???? Remember the big announcement that was coming by Monday that you couldn't tell us about???
Is the writing on the wall not clear enough for you yet??? An official announcement hasn't been made. The info in that respect was wrong. But if you started Fargas this weekend it was right. I like Fargas and I luv Bush. I don't know Lane Kiffin or Al Davis.

Do you want me to hold your hand when you cross the street tomorrow, too?
So you don't have inside info like you claim and you are taking credit for something that everybody already new. CBS Sportline had reported on the 10/29 that the Raiders would lean on Fargas

Raiders will lean on Fargas Updated 10/29/07

News: According to the Contra Costa Times, the Raiders planned to use Justin Fargas on Sunday against the Titans, and it wasn't because LaMont Jordan struggled. Jordan rushed for only 16 yards on 12 carries. Coach Lane Kiffin leaned upon Fargas just as much as he did Jordan. Fargas finished with 61 yards on 12 carries. "That was the plan coming in," Kiffin said. "We were going to play Justin more, and I like what Justin brings. He hadn't had many opportunities as of late. We wanted to give him a shot, and he responded."

Yes the writing was on the Wall and also on cbs sportsline... That is why most people including myself had picked up Fargas as soon as he cleared waivers (days before you lied to everyone). If Fargas didn't have a good game the same people who are kissing your ### would be calling for your head.
Well aren't you just an ungrateful POS. Listen pal, I don't owe you squat. My source said last week that Jordan's days were numbered and that Fargas would be the man for now. He spoke of an official announcement and the possibility of Jordan being cut soon. That part of his prognostication did not come true, but like I said he's almost always been right or near right in the past and this time he was again a bit off, but the important part of his message - that Jordan had lost his job - was correct.Do me a favor since you think so lowly of me, don't bother opening any of my posts or responding to me ever again. You picked up Fargas and based on my posts, you started him, he had a nice game and somehow you're angry at me. You're a joke.

For the rest of you, the same source says that the team is VERY high on Bush. Does that mean he's gonna be starting soon? I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. But if Jordan is cut and you have Fargas I would scoop up Bush as a handcuff for a multitude of reasons.

My personal opinion is that Jordan has been less than 100% since the Miami game and based on what they've been seeing from Bush, they're contemplating activating Bush and kicking Jordan to the curb to make room. I've read conflicting reports that they still have a couple of weeks to decide this issue. Until that point, I would expect to see a heavy dose of Fargas and Jordan's fate will depend on a. his health b. his attitude and c. Mike Bush's performances in practice.

Take it FWIW, but if you don't like what you're hearing or don't want to believe me, that's fine, just try not to be a complete tool like this qimqam character.
Just ignore this qimqam guy Lawfitz, he ain't worth two seconds of your time. There's a lot of us here who appreciate this thread & the info it contained. I know I certainly did. You get anymore insider stuff, don't hesitate to post it.

TIA

LawFitz....Just wanted to add my thanks! I picked up Fargus and though I didn't play him I now have someone that I can use in trades. If you hear more about Bush I would love to know. Keep up the good posting!

What I don't understand is, and maybe someone can explain this to me.

Everyone says Michael Bush was a "sure fire" first round pick prior to the injury. Yet Willis Mcgahee, a guy who saw his leg literally rip in half and tear all three ligaments, gets drafted in the first round. He wasn't even fully recovered when the Bills drafted him.

Added to this, before the draft Dr. James Andrews, sent out a letter to ALL NFL TEAMS explaining that Michael Bush was 99% healthy and this injury would not impact his career at all.

How does a such a great prospect, who with probably the most well known surgeon in amerca verifying his health get drafted in the 4th round. While a guy like Willis McGahee, who suffered extreme ligament damage (not just a bone break), still goes in the first? Am I missing something on this guy?

Probably that McGahee was considered "can't miss" top 5 talent, while Bush was fringe first round talent.

This is exactly right. Prior to his injury, Willis had the highest grade of any RB coming out since LT. And even with that it was a bit of a surprise when the Jills took him where they did. Most thought he'd fall out of the first round after the injury.Bush, while thought to be a 1st round talent, had questions about his speed at this level. Questions that remain unanswered. We'll see if he's the next Jerome Bettis or the next TJ Suckit.

That said, the Raiders are apparently pretty stoked on him so far. I think they are going to use the next week or two to decide whether to roster Bush and cut Jordan or to IR Bush and save him for next year. Since I picked up Fargas, I also picked up Bush as the handcuff. I think Jordan will get the axe.

Interesting. It looks like Lamont is taking his demotion the right way... Looking first and foremost in the mirror. Also note that Kiff is saying that Bush needs to be rostered by next week if at all this year. Again, I think it's gonna come down to Bush or Lamont for one roster spot after next week.

This is a public update from Jerry Mac, but I also have some new inside color - Mr. Bush has taken limited snaps with the 1st team this week in addition to the scout team duties noted below. Now again, don't jump to conclusions as I'm sure it's just part of Kiffin's evaluation process, but clearly the kid is being put in a position to earn a job this season. Whether he can do so obviously remains to be seen.

Just kickin' it

Posted by Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer on Wednesday at 8:29 pm

News, notes and observations from Wednesday as the Raiders begin preparations to face the defending NFC champion Chicago Bears:

– Lane Kiffin stirred some excitment among the Chicago media when he said on a conference call the Raiders weren't planning on shying away from Bears kick return ace Devin Hester.

"We're excited about the challenge," Kiffin said. We're started to play better on special teams the last few weeks and this is obviously the best returner ever top lay the game . . . it's no fun to kick it out of bounds so we're going to see how well we can cover."

– Kiffin was less emphatic with the local media, saying, "there are a few times when there will be return opportunities."

– Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, who replaced the ill Hester as the interview subject on a conference call to Bay Area media, thought it was a grand idea for the Raiders to kick away.

"Serious? Punts and kickoffs? It will be fun then," Urlacher said. "I can't wait to watch. The last few games he hasn't gotten many opportunities, but when he does, he definitely takes advantage of them."

– The bravado of the coach aside, word has it Shane Lechler was aiming some balls toward the sideline Wednesday.

– Special teams player Jarrod Cooper's response? Bring it on.

"You respect them but you don't play them scared," Cooper said. "You respect them but you don't play them scared. Everybody in this room respects Hester. End of story."

– Hester has two punt returns for touchdowns, a kickoff return for a touchdown, and in his second season has eight returns for touchdowns _ tied for seventh all-time and just one behind Mel Gray, Ollie Matson and Deion Sanders for fourth place.

"He sees moves before they happen," Cooper said. "He catches the ball and as soon as he catches it he's gone. If you hesitate for a minute, you're goig to be watching him and getting his autograph after the game."

– Hester, by the way, has seen an increased role on offense as a receiver. Coach Lovie Smith said he had 30 snaps in his last game.

"We want him to get his hands on the ball and get him as involved as much as we possibly can," Smith said. "I think he can be premiere offensive plyers. I think if you're speical when you have the ball in your hands there is no reason you can't."

– Cornerbacks Nnamdi Asomugha (knee) and Fabian Washington (calf) did not practice Wednesday, although Kiffin said he thought both would be able to play. Same goes for Warren Sapp (knee), Jeremy Newberry and Cornell Green, none of whom practiced. Newberry and Green have been sitting out Wednesdays and returning to practice on Thursdays.

– Defensive tackle Gerard Warren was not only back at practice, but went through with no limitations, Kiffin said. His recovery from a full day of work will be watched closely Thursday considering the off-and-on nature of his quadriceps injury.

– Quarterback JaMarcus Russell gently resisted the notion that being thrown off the high dive and to learn how to swim in an NFL game without a full complement of lessons would be disasterous to his career.

"In high school, my coach always told me to stay on an even keel. No matter what, don't make the game too big or too small," Russell said. "Anything that happens, always be even or level-headed. I've been that for a long time . . . I've been through that all my life. That's part of one of the things that brought me here today was persavering through adversity."

– That said, more than a few Raiders are ambivalent seeing Russell play. As curious as they are to see the future, the fact that he didn't sweat out training camp and cashed in with a paycheck the likes of which they'll never see will remain at least a minor issue until he proves himself on the practice field and on game day.

– The Raiders were gashed to a certain extent against the run last year, giving up 134.0 yards per game and ranking 25th in the NFL. But if it seems like things are more extreme this season, it's because they are.

When Kiffin talks about the problem being "explosive plays" rather than a steady series of four and five yards per carry, it is validated by the stats.

The Raiders have given up 12 runs of 20 or more yards this year, tied for the most in the NFL, and four runs of 40 or more yards, tied for first in the NFL. Last season, they gave up 10 runs of 20 or more yards in 16 games and just two runs of 40 or more yards.

– Kiffin said the deadline for the Raiders to activate running back Michael Bush would be next week. Bush said he thought it wasn't until after the Minnesota game.

After playing Ron Dayne on the scout team last week, Bush is simulating Cedric Benson this week and will likely be Adrian Peterson next week.

– LaMont Jordan, curt and visibly upset after the Texans game after being replaced by Justin Fargas, said he let his anger get the better of him. He said he hasn't been running hard enough, protecting the passer well enough, and planned on doing better.

"Mentally, I let it affect me the last two games with my carries being reduced," Jordan said. "I took Monday and Tuesday to six back and relax, just looked at myself. I understand this move. I'm more so not upset withKiffin or the coaching staff, I'm upset with myself for allowing it to even get to this."

– Raiders officials seem confident a sellout will be announced Thursday, meaning no local television blackout.

– Sorry about the delay . . . had some technical difficulties getting connected.

Anyone know whether the Raiders are planning to put Bush on IR, or will he stay on the non-football injury list? I read somewhere in another thread that this is at the Raiders' discretion, and that they could go either way. I wonder what the pros and cons of IR versus PUP are, from the Raiders standpoint.

Nov 21 The deadline to activate Bush (knee) from the PUP list has passed, the Oakland Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Though he was healthy enough to have been added to the Raiders' roster, he was the odd man out numbers-wise and is ineligible to practice or play with the team, though he will work out on the side and attend all team meetings and functions.
