This post was after week 1. I and many others got him of the WW (ironically dropping mcnabb to get him). The guy in front of me in WW, who owned Kolb, opted for Danny amendola instead.not bad for a WW. In this league FA's count as a 16th round draft pick for keepers. Not a bad keeper at round 16, the best FF qb in the game who would be a 12t/2nd round pick.Hi, I'm here for my crow. And to think I could have had Vick for Brady. I *was* looking like a monster to represent my division in the championship...but now this Vick insanity carry my competitor to unbeatable status.![]()
Vick will start ONE week and ONLY one week unless Kolb is hurt again. So this train wont be going very far unless that happens. Philly did not trade McNabb to a rival and give Kolb a raise to NOT play him. Vick did look OK but he still has the worst accuracy on any NFL QB and the Philly offense requires a fairly accurate passer. This post will have more life come 2011.
Defense didnt game plan him. Vick is not that good. I have had him as a fanstasy QB starter in the past in my format. In less than 3 quarters of football, Vick probably came close to outscoring Romo and McNabb combined in week 1.I got Romo and McNabb, I dont see Vick surplanting either of them on my roster however if you have a scrub for a backup or if you are in a deep league this might be your big break moment and you need to grab Vick.
Amazes me how little people realize the attitude of certain veteran head coaches.Andy Reid has a massive ego - almost as big as his gut ... Kolb is his guy. Kolb is going to start in 2010 - every game except when he's hurt. If he's healthy, he's the starter. I don't care if the Eagles are 0-14. Kolb is the starter in 2010 and 2011.
No it won't. Reid will insert Kolb back into the starting lineup as soon as possible regardless of what Vick accomplishes on any given weekend.
In deference, Larry did return quickly and take his lumpson second thought, since vick is the wiseguy darling this week, my opponent plugged him in, and he's a sack of garbage, I think I will make a BOLD prediction:
vick will be bottom 10 this week, while the detroit defense will be top 10.
last year, I think one of the guys in my league picked up det def vs cle, which ended up earning him an all caps LMAO, so I won't be adopting his BOLD tactics, but since talk is cheap I will make the above prediction knowing I can sig it if I'm right, and come back and delete it if I'm wrong.
I'm not sold on mccoy, or philly's o-line, and I'm least sold on vick.
also, it's not like gunther's never had to defense vick before --- they met in a game a few years back while gunther was presiding over one of the worst defenses in the nfl.
maybe check that one out and see how vick fared....
ok, I'm here to eat my crow.
I don't know wtf I'm talking about
Kolb is their guy. If he stinks it up for a couple of weeks after his return then yeah a full blown QB controversy. I am betting though Kolb will be fine. You can't judge a guy with 2 quarters of a game as the litmus. And Vick is an awful passer....just awful.
Those people forget that there are very few GREAT defenses out there, and especially that there is only one good defense in that division, and even they aren't overly dominant (NYG)eoMMan said:Hipple doing awesome work in here.An additional
to the people who said "Yeah, Vick played well against bad defenses....I'm not sold yet.....let's see him do well against a good defense."
You earned some respect from me here Larry.

Best decision I made was spending about half of my $500 on this guyanother hohum day for our guy. 300 passing 50 rushing, td ground, 2 in the air (and had two more softballs dropped by avant/celek tonight) Just a nice 30 pt day for those trying to get in the playoffs. To think that people blew their wads week 2 on Brandon Jackson rather than grab good ol #7. But wow what a year. He's a shoe in for comeback player of the year, and a viable mvp candidate too.to #7
Vick owner here (traded Floyd, Holmes and Roethlisberger to get Vick + Moreno when Vick and Moreno were injured...).THE QUESTIONS remain, which was why they were asked again yesterday.
If Kevin Kolb adds to the luster of his last two starts with another impressive performance Sunday at Tennessee, could Kolb possibly get back the starting job? The one he lost when Michael Vick played well for a game and a half, after Kolb suffered a concussion in the season opener?
Andy Reid has been asked this several times now - after Sunday's impressive, 31-17 Eagles victory over Atlanta, on Monday, and again yesterday. Reid, who confirmed Kolb definitely will start again, as Vick recovers from a rib-cartilage injury, still hasn't given anything close to a "yes" or "no" answer.
"I haven't even thought about that," Reid said yesterday. "We're worried about Tennessee right now and we're not worried about starting jobs. You guys can worry about all that. We're worried right now about trying to put together a game plan, learn the game plan and execute the game plan. That's what I think Kevin is focused in on; that's what we're focused in on as coaches."
