Mike Bell - Status? (1 Viewer)

I skipped going to church so I could run down this story. I made several calls around denver and there is no one that can back up this story. Klis has stated that "There's a chance Nash could replace Mike Bell on the Broncos' game-day roster today. Tatum Bell is expected to start."

Pure speculation IMHO.

On the roster, yes. But wouldn't Cobbs get carries over Nash?

Well, I was going to dodge this situation altogether and start Matt Jones or Anotonio Bryant instead of either Bell, but since Sportsline is having a case of the buggies (at least they got Week 9 right  ), I guess I'm stuck with this mess.

I knew Mike Shanahan was the devil.

I'm an Arizona State Alum and I can tell you that Mike Bell is a tool. I'm not sure what that has to do with this, but I thought it was worth noting.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled program...
I'd like to hear what you mean by this. Did he roll up to your frat parties all bling bling like, drink your liquor, and go home with your ladies?

my lineup needs to be in by 1 so I am rolling the dice with Tatum, may blow up in my face but at 3-6 I am in the gambling mood.

Let's hope it pays off. :banned:

I couldn't do it. I am in a must win game. I went with Addai and A-Train. I think no matter what way I went, the other way is going to get me the points. At least I know these guys are starting and (hopefully) playing all game. If Buffalo can hang around I think A-Train could be huge.

I am thinking of changing McAllister for Bell in my flex position...I have some time to still put in the change since both are playing late games.

"Mike Bell's value for today's game appears to be diminishing. Tatum Bell is expected to return to action today and start, and the Denver Post reports that there's a chance Mike Bell may not even be active for the game. The Broncos apparently are considering replacing Mike Bell with Damien Nash, who was promoted from the practice squad yesterday. Mike Bell had just 28 yards on 17 carries last week in place of the injured Tatum Bell."

Does anyone know if hes playing or not?

From KFFL:

Broncos | Week 10 InactivesSun, 12 Nov 2006 12:15:51 -0800The Denver Broncos have declared RB Cedric Cobbs, OL Chris Kuper, DL Ebenezer Ekuban, LB Ian Gold, RB Mike Bell, DL Patrick Chukwurah, WR Quincy Morgan, TE Tony Scheffler inactive for Week 10.

Tough decision for me. Tatum or TJ? I konw this isn't the place, but anyone care to pipe in with a suggestion?

who. freaking. knows anymore.

im hoping something comes out this week on the situation, but no reason to think it will be any clearer going forward.

thanks for the heads up on this week though. luckily our league has very fair lineup rules and i just slid tater in there over mike. but inactive? and mike too? good old shanny

I have to agree. This is absolutely unexpected. Nash will certainly be a hot pickup next week. I was going to grab him yesterday, but he wasn't available for pickup yet on MFL.

On Nash, he looked very good in his limited time during preseason. I remember one game where he was pretty much carrying defenders every time he got the ball. Granted, this was against second and third teamers, but I was still very much impressed.

####. took a chance and picked up Cobbs. watch Nash go off now..
why would you think Nash would go off? I think T. bell will have a solid game
It would be "just my luck". Pick up the wrong guy. Other guy goes off and I can't pick up the hot pickup of the week.Seriously, as long as Tater is healthy I don't see Nash getting a whole lot of work.

Rotoworld reporting that he is inactive

Mike Bell and Tony Scheffler are inactive for the Broncos Sunday.Cedric Cobbs is also out of pads, meaning Denver will go with Tatum Bell and Damien Nash as their lone tailbacks. Fullback Cecil Sapp also picks up carries from time to time. But Tatum Bell currently appears to be a safe bet for quality playing time. Ian Gold, Patrick Chukwurah, and Ebenezer Ekuban are also out for the Broncos, as expected. Nov. 12 - 3:07 pm et

Mike Bell must have really screwed up. Something happened.
It really does seem that way. That said, I'm starting to get sick of this BS. Damien Nash didn't do anything special and almost cost Denver the go ahead TD. Shanny needs to stop ####### around and let Tatum (or Mike) do his thing.

With Cobb and M.Bell inactive, T. Bell had a good shot. Nash is nothing.

All today told me, is that Mike Bell should be the man in Denver.

I think, that maybe today, Shanny was giving Tatum one more shot, and he falied..badly.

What I think happened here is that they noticed that Damien Nash has been promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, and then concluded that Denver was dissatisfied with its current RBs, and Nash was promoted to take their place. Normally, when Denver promotes someone fresh off the practice squad, that person is one of the game-day inactives for a while afterwards. I would be SHOCKED if Mike Bell was declared inactive in favor of Damien Nash this week. I'm not talking about surprised, I'm talking about absolutely, positively, 100% on the floor shocked. I could be wrong, but I don't believe it for a second.
You may want to quit while you're behind.Seriously, I read this post and immediately benched Bell for Bush in a TD heavy league where I'm hurting at RB.

I happened to flip over to the game to hear the announcers say they talked to Shanny about M. Bell. Here is what they said (paraphrased): 'Shanny told us they still have confidence in Mike Bell. Mike Bell was a healthy scratch because Nash has looked great in practice and they wanted to give him a chance at PT in a real game.' There has to be more to the story than this, but I thought I'd pass it along.

Given the lack of running game today against a meh rush defense, it will be interesting to see what happens next week. RBBC? Does M. Bell get another chance? Nash certainly didn't seem to do much with his chance.

I didn't watch much. Did it look like Tater's toes were still a problem?

I picked him up in both of my deep dynasty leagues last night on MFL. He will probably not be worth anything but I find it funny how many people were so sure that there was no possible way Nash could be active and actually get carries over Mike Bell and Cedric Cobbs.Look back to 2004 when Rueben Droughns broke out. He went 2 for 10 rushing / 3 for 17 receiving and then 8 for 20 rushing / 1 for 12 receiving the two weeks before going 30-193, 4-18-1. I picked him up the week after he had the eight carries simply because anyone getting touches in that system is worth a look in a deep league. Nask was 4-14 today. Is that a harbinger of bigger things to come? Like I said earlier, probably not but he's worth the 42nd spot on my 42 man roster to find out.
