Rutgers abused him on a regular basis. Look forward to the Giants doing the same in the pros.
Kudos on the Superbowl win, Dallas already has 5. The Giants aren't even the best team in their division, much less the conference. It had to be said.
Agreed. Bottom 5 worst Super Bowl winning team ever. Just below the 1990 Giants.

A wins a win.......and I don't buy that argument. Are you telling me that if New England wins that game, they're the best team of All Time but since the Giants beat that team who would be considered the best team of all time, that they're one of the worst teams ever to win it? That doesn't even make sense.Give credit where credit is due.......the Giant football team deserves that after that playoff run. If some Giant's fan doesn't know how to act like they've been there before........that's on him. If we're being honest, we have some Cowboy fans who act the same way.

Why exactly is he wearing #31 anyway? RW isnt changing his # is he? Personally, I think Mike Jenkins is gonna be a player. But day 1 of rookie mini-camp might be a hair early to put the league on notice. Atleast let the kid work up a nice stink in his cleats first.

Btw, let's give the Giants fans their due. Their boys are World Champs. And dont think it doesnt sting saying that, Dallas fans. It does. A LOT.

3 Super Bowl wins, 3 Lombardi Trophys, pretty solid organization in the NFL.

I am a Cowboy fan and have high hopes for Jenkins. He is an athlete but still a little raw. Also, he got abused by one of the UFA's WR (The Wes Welker clone) signees on Day 1. Let's not put him in Canton yet.

High picks and Texas Tech kid catch Jerry's eye

1:36 PM Fri, May 02, 2008 | Permalink | Yahoo! Buzz

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

You can only tell so much from watching rookies run around in shorts and helmets, but Jerry liked what he saw this morning.

He singled out four guys who impressed him: the Cowboys' first three picks and undrafted free agent WR Danny Amendola, aka "that boy from Texas Tech."

Jerry gushed about how "smooth" RB Felix Jones looked, especially catching the ball. He was pleased with CB Mike Jenkins' quickness, and he liked TE Martellus Bennett's hands. Of course, it's no surprise that the owner/GM likes guys who he picked high and will pay big money.

It is noteworthy that Jerry would single out an undrafted guy like Amendola, who beat Jenkins one-on-one at least three times and caught everything thrown his way.

"He's real refined," Jerry said of the Wes Welker wannabe. "He really runs routes well, and he's got that quickness. He does and will separate. He will be able to separate in the NFL."

It's way too early to declare that Amendola will make the team, but Miles Austin better be ready to fight for his job.

His words were one thing, but he got turned around on a pedestrian move by a journeyman in that clip, and allowed a catch at another portion. Maybe we should wait until his ctions speak for him before annoiting him?

C'mon it's alright to be happy about our draft picks but your right it is just the first day of camp and we should wait before passing judgement. I do like having Campo back to work with our young CBs. I have high hopes for both Jenkins and Scandrick and I can't wait to see what "the Beast" does this next season. I guess Martellus already has his new nickname... btw Roy did change his number.

I NEVER EVER thought the Pats were the greatest thing since sliced bread. In fact, I'm against naming everything that happens in the last 15 minutes the greatest of all time. I rooted for and was happy the Giants won. I like a fair amount of their players. I do not however think they rank anywhere near the top of the NFL's past greats. The original post was talking smack about Jenkins, I think it's all good and fair to talk a little back.

btw Roy did change his number.
:goodposting: Wearing number 38 now. His number when he was in Oklahoma. (31 was taken when he was a rookie)Hopefully he's recommitted himself to playing ball like he did his first two years in the league when he was actually a good defensive player.

Mike Jenkins, according to many well-known scouts, was the most "pro-ready" of any of this year's CB's. I trust them, not some messageboard hack. Also, to say he was abused yesterday is completely absurd...dude, I was there and he dominated the first day of mini-camp.Syrus JamesDallas Cowboys Inside Edition

I agree completely. I think Jenkins has a nice career in front of him and should be able to make an impact quickly.

Good move by Roy to change numbers. he is a marked man by the refs, time to hide a little. Bad move by jenkins to take it. They may mistake him for Roy and flag him for a horse collar just for lining up.

It would be like a Packer corner taking Ahmad Carrol's number. So much stink on that number it has to air out for a time. That number in Packer colors drew more laundry than a chinese business district.

Huh, a cocky rookie CB in his first minicamp. Whatever will the NFC East do? :bag:

Ah, so you're saying that this Giants team did more with less?I can understand your antipathy given that the hallmark of the Cowboys over the last dozen years (since they last won a playoff game) has been the opposite.

It does. A LOT.
Not nearly as bad as it does for Pats' fans. 18-1 has gotta hurt considering the plethora of hype for the entire season. If anything it substantiates how competitive the NFC East is, as opposed to the AFC East.

The NFC East is going to be a street fight this year, just like last year IMHO, and I say that expecting my 'Skins unfortunately to end up on the bottom this year. A 4-2 intradivision record is a very good record in the NFC East.

Fortunately in the very short time the Cowboys entered the league as an expansion team in 1960, we have amassed a plethora of playoff records as well as 5 Super Bowl victories. I also take solace in the lopsided W/L record against our hated "rivals", the Washington Redskins. :lmao:

Hate to break it to you bud, but any real fan of a NFL team gets this way for their team. Only 1 team's fans don't get let down.If you're not getting your hopes up for your team, seriously you need to stop watching or pick a new team because their not doing you any favors.

I think he's saying it on behalf of the Pats. He's telling us (Dallas fans) that it stings to say that after the kind of season the New England Patriots had last season. He's not telling Dallas fans that it stings for us to have to say that after the Pats went 18-0 and then lost in the SB, that would be silly.

Andy Herron, I hate to break it to you, but posting links on a fantasy website blogger to news stories written and reported by actual members of the media doesn't qualify you as a member of the media. Seriously, go get some actual interviews with Dallas Cowboys coaches and players and get some print articles or television appearances if you want to come here and proclaim yourself as some media member. Until then, you're making a mockery of yourself. I love it how everybody tries to make themselves feel important for finding links and "reporting" them.

First of all, slick, I never proclaimed myself to be anything. I can only guess that you're responding to Syrus's challenging me in other threads for shooting down his repeated absurd reports, I don't know. I'm privy to a "limited" amount of information that I only bring here to share. That's what we're doing here isn't it? Or are you just one of the one's who like to come in here and make noise?I'm certainly no highly heralded media member at all, don't pretend to be, and don't know where your assumptions are coming from.

I'm simply an Editor and writer for a small newspaper in a suburb of Dallas, that's all, and I'm not being sarcastic. (see http://www.allentxnews.com/)

It's no big deal, but it's something I enjoy.

On the other hand, I'm certainly no hack either, as I've been doing this (writing) for a long time.

Earlier this year I had an offer from KFFL, but after discussing it with Joe Bryant it was determined that it would have been too much of a conflict of interest.

Richard Garcia (CEO) of KFFL left it as a standing invitation.

In addition, I was contacted this week by an upstart website covering the NFL, www.knowhuddle.com. They offered me a percentage, and again, left it as a standing offer. I'm thinking on it, but you may soon see my articles there as well.

Anything else you need to know, just ask.

Whatever makes you feel important around here. :lmao: My father-in-law is an editor for the Dallas Morning News, be nice and I can put in a word for you. That would be a definite upgrade from where you're at now.
Again, that's your opinion, but thanks for sharing. And by the way, if your father-in-law is at the Plano office, I may be seeing him real soon on a story I'm working on that's much too big for my paper.

I'm not trying to be funny here. It's a fraud case I'm working on that needs to be handled by a paper that has some serious legal backing.

I am a Cowboy fan and have high hopes for Jenkins. He is an athlete but still a little raw. Also, he got abused by one of the UFA's WR (The Wes Welker clone) signees on Day 1. Let's not put him in Canton yet.
Mike Jenkins, according to many well-known scouts, was the most "pro-ready" of any of this year's CB's. I trust them, not some messageboard hack. Also, to say he was abused yesterday is completely absurd...dude, I was there and he dominated the first day of mini-camp.Syrus James

What is "Dallas Cowboys Inside Edition"? Never heard of it. And I live in Dallas!

That's what I thought.
Um....Andy, he's messing with you by pretending to be some random fake press guy. He's not actually with any media association.
Ya, I know he's not. I just wanted to make that clear to everybody else.
Andy Herron, I hate to break it to you, but posting links on a fantasy website blogger to news stories written and reported by actual members of the media doesn't qualify you as a member of the media. :lmao: Seriously, go get some actual interviews with Dallas Cowboys coaches and players and get some print articles or television appearances if you want to come here and proclaim yourself as some media member. Until then, you're making a mockery of yourself. I love it how everybody tries to make themselves feel important for finding links and "reporting" them.
First of all, slick, I never proclaimed myself to be anything. I can only guess that you're responding to Syrus's challenging me in other threads and such, I don't know. I simply view it as a case of "be careful of what you ask, you may not like the answer you get".

Everything's bigger in Texas, including the fathers-in-law. Serious Business

so it sounds like that Jenkins guy is pretty good....................

Rutgers abused him on a regular basis. Look forward to the Giants doing the same in the pros.
Kudos on the Superbowl win, Dallas already has 5. The Giants aren't even the best team in their division, much less the conference. It had to be said.
LOL at a fan from a team who hasn't won a playoff game in a decade talking smack to a team who just won the SB. And this is coming from a person who hates both teams equally.....

Yes, it does, and thanks for getting this thread back on topic. It would appear that Deion Sanders has taken a liking to this kid, having played with his uncle, Tracy Sanders (no relation), at Florida State.

Deion text messaged Jenkins after he was drafted to contact him when he got to town. It seems Deion may have an inclination to take this kid under his wing. That wouldn't be all bad. More here:

Huh, a cocky rookie CB in his first minicamp. Whatever will the NFC East do? :lmao:

Agreed. Bottom 5 worst Super Bowl winning team ever. Just below the 1990 Giants.
Ah, so you're saying that this Giants team did more with less?I can understand your antipathy given that the hallmark of the Cowboys over the last dozen years (since they last won a playoff game) has been the opposite.
Fortunately in the very short time the Cowboys entered the league as an expansion team in 1960, we have amassed a plethora of playoff records as well as 5 Super Bowl victories. I also take solace in the lopsided W/L record against our hated "rivals", the Washington Redskins. :lmao:
Dude, the Cowboys have the worse loss in NFL history. In 1987 on MNF at home against the Skins, when the strike was winding down and Dallas had all of their studs (i.e. White, Dorsett, etc.). The Skins had 100% scabs on their roster -- not one regular player. And said scabs laid a beatdown on Dallas and all of their HOFers. The league should of cancelled the rest of Dallas' regular season after that legendary abomination, but for some inexplicable reason they didn't. That cancels out at least 2 of the Cowboys Super Bowl wins right there. The Cowboys also lay claim to arguably the second worst loss in NFL history -- getting beat down against expansion Houston in the first game in Texans history. Remember Woodson saying they had to win that game? Whoops.Hail to the Redskins.

Funny I had forgotten those games. I guess when your team doesn't do well all you can take solace in is your rival losing 2 regular season game. Is it comforting?
