Has done very little this year like Peppers but we all know Peppers waiting to explode and Rucker is all but finished.

He has to be done. The Panther homers are currently saying he does nothing except plug a hole.
The problem with that is he is a RDE and not a DT. Meanwhile, McClover just got back healthy for his first game.

Rucker hasn't been a viable IDP option for years. Leg injuries have robbed him of what little explosiveness he had and have taken enough of his leverage that he's no longer a pass rush threat at all. Still a solid early down player, though the writing is clearly on the wall with Stanley McClover and Charles Johnson on the roster.

So as asked by someone months ago....what happens now with Charles Johnson??

Hard to say.It looks like a free-for-all among Johnson, Stanley McClover and Tyler Brayton. With McClover yet to fulfill his promise as an edge rusher and Brayton a mediocre vet, it would seem that Johnson would have the upper hand. However, when given the chance to start last year after Julius Peppers went on IR, Johnson struggled to hold up against the run and didn't provide much pass rush either.With Rucker officially out of the picture now, one of these guys is going to get 45 snaps a game. The smart money is probably on Johnson but whether it translates to consistent IDP value is another matter entirely.
