Exactly. Should be fun.No matter what, some people are going to look stupid when we get a definitive word on where Vick was today. I love it.

Reiss has now come out and authoritatively stated Vick not in Foxboro and not likely to happen. I'd say he has a lot more at stake with that kind of statement in the Pats community than some dude in Miami who just made a blog post the other day about how Vick & NE are the perfect fit and is desperate to look like a genius.Barstool is correct and is proven so with the Miami Herald also reporting that Vick was in Boston today.http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-th...nd-working-out/

...so Yudkin should be in here any minute now with reports that "his sources" are saying that it probably won't happen.Reiss has now come out and authoritatively stated Vick not in Foxboro and not likely to happen.

If he wants to start at QB right away to prove himself at the position to NFL teams, this makes sense.NFL Draft Bible says Vick to UFL Orlando franchise

That was my first thought.Hey, I've had some since... Anyway, to those that think that Brady would never leave the field, or that Vick would only be a gimmick player, I could easily see that team having packages with Vick at QB. They have been so creative (and HIGHLY successful) the past few years with out-of-the-box approaches. It's all about what you make the opposing team prepare for, or what you can catch them off guard with.More reason to dislike the Pats

Hey Switz,You totally misunderstood my point. I was saying that the Pats are NOT concerned with morality, nor should they be. We as fans have WAY too much confusion about the perceived morality of the guys we root for and build up totally ridiculous expectations for whether these men are good people off the field. Objectively we really want to see our team win games, and the Patriots...a team that has won more than anyone...has the wherewithal to show everyone else that morality isn't a factor when it comes to trying to win. Yet so many other teams are using the morality card as a reason not to sign Vick, as though their locker rooms aren't also full of people who have morality issues. What I like about the Pats signing Vick, if they do, is that it's an overt example of a team REALLY doing whatever it thinks is best to WIN and not hiding behind some false trope that excuses what might have otherwise been a smart business decision.switz said:From a winnong/losing perspective, maybe they've done welll.... but your original comment was referring to "morality" and the Pats are hardly a model team when it comes to "morals" - they've been caught cheating, and they continue to be suspected of cheating in other instances. While you can argue they will "win at all costs" - it's clear that they've already tossed aside any semblance of moral character to win. While I never wish ill on anyone, it seems like it's only a matter of time before the Pats suffer the consequences of their actions. Perhaps signing Vick will be the catalyst of their doom.Jason Wood said:Love them or hate them, no NFL team has been more successful in the salary cap era than the Patriots. I agree..vick can`t play in a liberal area...they get a cause and wil not let it go. Look for Vick to end up in a red state.ROCKET said:I'm confident that Bob Kraft and most importantly his wife will keep Vick out of NE. Makes for great fodder though.![]()
it's really too bad the NFL couldnt go with the moral high road. at least not allow full on criminals to play. personally, i would be very supportive of that.Hey Switz,You totally misunderstood my point. I guess if I'm a HC or OC I really don't want to open up the field, create mismatches, and score more TDs, either......I don't see any reason they would ever take Tom Brady out of the game. I just don't see why a "gimmick" is necessary when you alreayd have a nearly unstoppable combination Brady to Moss.Slash Pt. II........If the Pats get Vick, start engraving the Lombardi immediately......Vick throwing deep to Moss out of a spread formation (i.e., one-on-one coverage).......What a sight it would be to behold - biggest cannon meets fleetest feetGreat fit for both, but I'd see Belichick doing what should have been done some time ago -- immediately converting Vick to an RB/WR hybrid.

I'm in such a jovial mood now that this has been debunked.Except Vick had never had an accurate pass, ever. So I don't understand at all what the heck Vick brings to the table. The Falcons immediately upgraded their offense with the subtraction of Vick and the addition of a real rookie QB and Michael Turner. Vick is one of the leagues all time laughable QB's in the history of the NFL. Anyone suggesting otherwise has not paid attention. Great he can run, so what. Beating Green Bay in one Playoff game does not a QB make. Their are dozens of CB's that would punish Vick for attempting to receive a pass, let alone catch it. Hell give me Figures from Baltimore and you have the same player. Figures could probably throw just as well.Vick is just a grade "A" scumbag. Any suggestion otherwise is ignorant. the Pats should not tarnish their already suspect reputation by adding Vick to the Roster. Let him rot in Canada.Vick = TrashIn game mode, I would definitely choose Vick+Moss deep versus any team's two CBs in a foot race. Just go deep see what happens.I've been saying safety since a QB just couldn't gauge how quick he could get to the ball and if he grabs an INT he's gone.if BB is coaching him, anything is possible. I wouldn't even be surprised to see him return kicks if BB thought he could go the distance.Great fit for both, but I'd see Belichick doing what should have been done some time ago -- immediately converting Vick to an RB/WR hybrid.
I can't believe someone would actually use that website as a source of credibility. Its a T and A site masqurading as a sports site.http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-th...o-the-patriots/
Reports arising that Vick was seen at Logan and was on his way to Foxboro. The website is a blog but it is a pretty popular blog around the Boston area.

Posted by Mike Florio on July 31, 2009 5:37 PM ETThe ping (beer) pong match that unfolded today regarding rumors and reports linking quarterback Mike Vick to the Patriots finally has prompted a response from the team. And the Patriots say that Vick did not come to Foxborough.Team spokesman Stacey James told Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald that Vick was not in town working out for the Patriots -- and that Vick won't be.The rumors began this morning, with rampant e-mails and Internets accounts of folks who claimed they saw Vick at Logan Airport in Boston. Equivocal comments from coach Bill Belichick regarding the team's potential interest in Vick served only to fuel the rumors. A local sports web site then said that Vick was indeed in town and meeting with the Patriots. An Associated Press report regarding a hearing in Vick's pending bankruptcy case put him in Virginia, knocking down the "Vick is in Boston" rumors.Tom Curran echoed the notion that Vick didn't make an appearance in Boston or Foxborough or New England on Friday, which seemed to put the issue to rest. But then Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reported that Vick is in New England, after all.As a result, we feel like we've been playing ping (beer) pong all afternoon. But we kind of like the feeling. So we're kind of rooting for a rumor that Belichick has been spotted in Eastern Virginia. And now 10 percent of you will have read that last sentence to mean that there's a rumor that Belichick has been spotted in Eastern Virginia.Hey, these rumors don't start themselves.
he was the QB of my greatest fantasy team ever, in '02.he helped win me a couple of Championships in '06.

Vick just better be in damn good shape no matter where goes, and paranoid... Some dog-loving SOB is gonna light him up, then he will be uselessMichael Vick is a lot of things, but "useless" as a football player is certainly not one of them. For any team in the league.Michael Vick would have to be delusional to think he is getting a starting job anywhere.I really hope he goes to the Patriots. I think that team would give him the correct structure to put his life back together. If the Patriots use him it will be in the backfield with Brady. Brady is too damn good to take off the field IMO.You also can't say the guy is useless--you haven't seen him play in two years. Useless is a strong term to use.

Given their track record with honesty and integrity, this probably means he was there.Patriots | Vick not in Foxborough FridayFri, 31 Jul 2009 14:42:36 -0700Updating previous reports, Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports the New England Patriots have confirmed that unrestricted free-agent QB Michael Vick (Falcons) was not in Foxborough Friday, July 31. looks like this story is one big rumor
It's quickly becoming "Where in the World is Carmen Vickdiego?"(RotoWire) There was a rumor circulating Friday about Vick being driven to the Steelers' training facility, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Analysis: This is not coming from NFL sources so it is mere speculation at this point. The source was a call-in to a local radio station claiming to be the cab driver who drove Vick from the airport to Latrobe. Coach Mike Tomlin would not address the rumor and simply stated "I'm in Latrobe and everybody else in our organization is."

Same here. That 173 yard rushing game with the TD in OT against the Vikes is still one of my favorite NFL/FF memories... :highfive:he was the QB of my greatest fantasy team ever, in '02.he helped win me a couple of Championships in '06.
The pat's didn't get rid of peters until the next day when kraft's wife found out about it, I have no doubt they'd try to sign someone as talented as vick regardless of their character. BTW peters sexually assaulted two women while playing for nebraska(he pled guilty to a lesser charge in one of those cases and in the other one the woman had a "reputation" so the police pretty much ignored her)Didn't Kraft get rid of Christian Peter over character issues (beating a woman?). Seems odd that he would take on Vick.
Peter was a Giant and Mara had him work with community and see psychologist and....Gmen handled it well. I can't recall if he went to Pats after but, I don't believe Kraft's wife story then. Why wouldn't she be OK with a reformed man that went thru all he did to improve himself and his standing in the community?Didn't Kraft get rid of Christian Peter over character issues (beating a woman?).
