"Online misinformation about election fraud plunged 73 percent after several social media sites suspended President Donald Trump and key allies last week, research firm Zignal Labs has found, underscoring the power of tech companies to limit the falsehoods poisoning public debate when they act aggressively.

The new research by the San Francisco-based analytics firm reported that conversations about election fraud dropped from 2.5 million mentions to 688,000 mentions across several social media sites in the week after Trump was banned from Twitter."

The thread title and headline of the article are misinformation.

This was focused specifically on election fraud misinformation.

It also mentions in there that 70k accounts were also banned.

Also twitter is more frequently using its civic integrity policy to ban election fraud claims.

The title of this thread really should be:

"The Misinformation that I'm fed by my side says that misinformation from the other side dropped dramatically after my side  banned all accounts with dissenting opinions.  So it must be true."

How much info do you want put into a thread title

The very first line of the article makes it clear they focused on election fraud lies.

I don’t see the relevance of your last point.

This is true, but only if you view dissenting opinions in regards to the 'election was stolen'.

This was so predictable.

"The so-called misinformation only plummeted because the government is silencing the truth!"

Election fraud wasn't rampant.  It was investigated repeatedly.  There is no verifiable fact base out there proving material election fraud.  Because it isn't real.  It is a figment of Trump's imagination.   The entire Republican establishment knows this.

Your post was just as predictable.

When the misinformation benefits your side it's ALWAYS the truth.  There's no agenda's being driven here!

How about misinformation of how everyone is going to die?  The same leaders insist we open up businesses, even though the Covid numbers are supposedly awful in the last two weeks.

I haven’t seen any information suggesting that “everyone is going to die.”  Where have you seen this?

Yes that’s what happened here.
