I find it odd that he would go jogging with no identification, keys, cell phone, etc. Suicide?

not at all. i run in my neighborhood and usually only carry my keys if i have to. i prefer not to run with them at all. i just buzz the front door when i get home to let the gf to unlock the door.

i'm out there 5 mornings a week, usually in the 4:30-5:00 range, and i never have anything on my person except my person.

I only carry it on longer runs where i wear a hydration pack. Otherwise i will take my chances somebody can figure it out.
