MLB and big plays (1 Viewer)

I was just wondering if people can recall some of the better recent big play seasons from the MLB position, as kind of an upside in that area, and how much of that do you think is luck, skill, and scheme?

It's not unusual for MLB/ILBs to generate 3-4 sacks and 3-4 interceptions a season. Generally, it's a combination of talent and scheme/opportunity. Guys like Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher have had multiple seasons with big sack and interception numbers. Mike Peterson was a regular atop the big play columns in his early seasons in Jacksonville as well.

There have been some outliers in recent years, though, like Bradie James 8 sacks last year.

You can sort the linebacker lists for sacks and interceptions through MyFBG to see how the big plays often break out each season.
