I guess this thread is just to keep track of stuff that isn't huge news, but is interesting.

Nick Markakis just made an incredible play to save the game for the O's.

Yankee Stadium is a complete joke, what a shame. The old girl they knocked down is rolling over in her grave at the 1.42 park factor for HRs. Today Cano hit a pop-up behind second that traveled three rows into the seats. Cano grimaced, then swore then dropped his bat like he had just hit an out. Awful, shameful and very non-Yankee.

Hung out with Darryl Cousins yesterday at the bar. We hashed out the Jim Joyce / Galarraga perfect game fiasco...pretty funny... he was at third that day. :banned:

Carlos starts the triple play with a diving catch playing first... he can do it all.

Game highlights on Quick Pitch with just the in-game announcers is awesome. No annoying LOOK AT ME anchors with unfunny jokes.

Oh man, Evan. :kicksrock: :wall:

It sounds like Bautista hurts the ball when he hits it, that HR today was a missle.

Cano, Tex, A-Rod, Swisher, Granderson, Posada are all capable of 30+ HRs in that park.

I'd love to see Brandon Belt in the majors all year long, but can the Giants really roll with Huff in RF all year long?

Having a stiff in RF doesn't seem like it'd be a good thing for a team that wants to win with pitching.

Not sure how they work this one out.

I know he played some RF last year too, but him playing 81 games @ AT&T is going to be a disaster.

I was gonna ask why he wasn't in LF but then I realized Pat Burrell is out there. It was a good run SF.

The only reason he's out there is because Cody Ross is hurt. After watching the Giants run the likes of Lance Niekro, John Bowker and Ryan Klesko at 1B in recent years, having both Huff and Belt is a luxury.

So what does this mean? Ross isn't going to be stating over Huff and I'd imagine Burrell would see more ABs than Ross too. There's no logical platoon between Huff and Belt since both bat left handedI'm sure Ross can be a late inning replacement, but that certainly wouldn't have helped last night.

Quick Pitch looks a hell of a lot better this year.

Lisa Kerney >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hazel Mae

Kerney's hotter, but I think Mae's pretty attractive too. That could be the "chick with nice boobs and a microphone talking about sports" goggles talking though.

I wonder what John Smoltz thinks of the place.

Yeah I'm not tracking him either. First time in the history of the internet that Eephus wasn't completely cogent.

The plan in Arizona was for Ross to play RF, Huff 1B with Belt in Fresno. Belt certainly looks like a major leaguer so far which makes the decision harder when Ross returns. It seems a bit short sighted but Huff supposedly worked very little in the OF in spring training. Rowand and Schierholtz are also alternatives.

Huff in RF, Burrell in LF, Sandoval at 3B, Tejada at SS. Defense certainly not a priority in SF these days.

I spent the weekend watching Bentancourt, McGehee, and Weeks in the same infield. And they still have Ryan Braun out in left who shouldn't be nearly as bad at OF as he is. For an athlete his caliber, he's probably on par with what Huff and Burrell are doing in SF.Definitely some bad defense floating around the NL. Anyone seen Berkman play OF for the Cards yet? I'm curious to see that one as well.

Something to the April winds I think. 2010 was mellow after 2009 was homer happy. Some of the many homers were on the pitching though. Balls in the bleachers and 2nd deck are no doubters. And in fairness, it's not the ink park te balls were flying out of. Might be one of those years.

Yeah, if Joe Morgan was still doing Sunday Night Baseball, he would have spent a half inning talking about ink park te balls.

Oh Nelson Cruz is mashing, third player ever to hit a HR in first four games... Mays and McGwire the other two.

We can only pray for the best, but I'm fully expecting for a hammy to pop at any minute. They usually do when he's going like this, :scared:

As long as he doesn't try and steal any bases when they are up by 5+ runs(injured doing this last year)

Exactly, I appreciate his effort but if someone would tell him he's not Rickey Henderson, that would be awesome. Maybe we can get 150 games if he doesn't run too much.

I assume you are aware that Ricky Henderson is his idol, right?

My goal is to have my FBG status state that I am most active in The Baseball Forum by the end of the World Series

I apologize in advance.

Starlin Castro looks really good. Finally a bright spot for Cubs fans. I think his upside is a poor man's Jeter.

Do the Braves have the best farm system in baseball? It seems they've churned out steady player after steady player for more than a decade.

Seattle looks like they might not be the worst team in baseball again.
