MLB in-season thread (1 Viewer)

And MLB.TV is amazing. I pretty much have locked myself in my office and told my wife that I'll see her in October.

Jhoulys Chacin with the nice start for COL in a 3-0 W over the LA Dodgers

7.0 IP - 5 Hits Allowed - 2 Walks - 0 ER - 4 K's (OK, this needs to be a little higher)

 from this fantasy owner

ANybody watch the Pineda v Ogando matchup? (Got them both on my fantasy squad)
Both looked really good...fastballs generally in the mid-90s w/ good location on the off-speed stuff. Ogando had the blister but should be good to go for his next start.

Yep. It's even better when you are a fan of a team that is out of market. I go to Twins games and root for them to an extent, but I am a Sox fan, so I get to see most of the games. :thumbup:Although I did get charged 5 separate 1 dollar charges from mlb.com today. Hmm

I'm doing the one through the internet, not the cable service Extra Innings or whatever it is.Player tracker is the greatest tool ever. Watch a game, get a little notification in the corner that a player (track up to 30) is UP / On Deck / In the Hole and what the situation of the game is..... switch to that game when you have toPicture's probably about 90% good, but with any live stream you're going to get some hiccups and your picture will pixel. You can watch picture in picture, 2 games side by side, or 4 games in a mosaic viewI can also watch it through my PS3, but I seem to lose some functionality there. I don't think I can use player tracker or the different multi-game views thoughLocal blackouts are the only downside I can really find with it. And even with that, if you switch to the Sox or Cubs game, you still get the audio feed.

I've had MLB.tv for the past 2 years and loved it, but I'm going to try to get by without it this year. I'm in a good market for alot of good games.

Thanks, in large part, to the O's and Nat's being more interesting. More importantly, I get alot of NL East and AL East games to go along with alot of White Sox/Cubs games. I'm hoping/thinking that MASN, WGN, ESPN, and MLB Network can take care of my MLB fix. We'll see.

Exactly, I appreciate his effort but if someone would tell him he's not Rickey Henderson, that would be awesome. Maybe we can get 150 games if he doesn't run too much.
I assume you are aware that Ricky Henderson is his idol, right?
Seriously? I did not know that, well that explains a lot! :)
Yeah, he wants a green light every pitch every situation. tries to compare himself to ricky loosely and discusses him on occasion. The team tries to get him to do some of the on field stuff but he hasn't gone for it much.

Is it just me or are home plate umps this year calling more check swing strikes on their own(without an appeal)?

If you are a fan of baseball theatre, you HAVE to root for the sox to come home 0-6 to face the Yankees. It's a long season, the sox will be there at the end, probably taking the division but boy would that be juicy.

They just had 2nd and 3rd, none out, with 4-5-6 up and couldn't cash in down 3-2 in Cleveland.

Miguel Cabrera hit a ball so hard to third, it got stuck in the web of Mark Reynold's glove and he couldn't get it out. They rightfully gave him a base hit.

Also Orioles fans are screamers.

tim wakefield and his knuckler is fun to watch on tv. What kind of speed does he post with that thing?
It was fun watching it get jacked as well.
Yeah, it's a blast either way. Sort of like watching JaMarcus Russell throw a football. Good or bad (mostly bad), something amazing will happen.I'm not sure what velocity he gets, but I think it's in the mid-60's.
I think he throws it a bit harder than typical knuckleballers. Something like 72 mph if I remember correctly. Which is a bout how fast I can throw my fastball. :bag:

I don't like Tex or the Yanks, but I thought this was cool of him....

According to the Star Ledger, "First baseman Mark Teixeira donated $1 million to Harlem RBI, an East Harlem-based charity looking to build a new charter school, community center and affordable housing units in the area. The organization, which uses baseball to help children in need, must raise $20 million to help fund the $90 million project. Aside from the $1 million donated by Teixeira, he is spearheading the effort to raise a total of $10 million."

just bought my mlb.tv subscription. A little treat to myself for being such an all around good guy. I deserve it.

 Well that's one crazy ### way to end the game and go 0-6. Poor Sox. :lmao:
wha happened
2 outs in the ninth, Ortiz walked. MacDonald came in to pinch run, JD Drew sends a line drive off of Perez, it caroms to Everett at third, fakes the throw to first while MacDonald overruns 2nd and gets tagged out diving back to the bag.
How in the world is that what you saw?
He didn't pull a throw back to first? Happened fast, sorry I didn't rewind and watch it again.

Oops, didn't mean to come off like that, I just got to see the play finally and it wasn't what I thought it was is all. If you care, he didn't fake a throw to first and MacDonald didn't necessarily overrun the bag. He slipped when he put on the brakes rounding second. Everett caught the mishap (and likely caused it, looking that way) and kind of double-clutched while he was waiting for his 2nd baseman to get to the bag. If he doesn't slip, he woulda made it back in time.

I, for one, am glad he slipped.

Nah no offense taken... the bolded part is prob what I thought I remembered as the pullback to first. Sucks getting old. :)

Just heard today that Tulo's walkup music is The Bieber.
Pretty sure he let the fans vote on his walk-up song.
Wasn't it Miley Cyrus last year? (From fan's vote).I heard an interview and his reasoning makes sense. He doesn't really give a crap what it is, so why not make it something that the kids will love? Having every kid in the stadium wake up from their nap to start dancing when you come up to the plate is probably a very good thing. Makes more sense, I guess, than just another classic rock or rap song that the kids have never heard.I think Jeremy Guthrie, on the other hand, is a genuine teeny-bopper connoisseur.

Just got caught up with Braves game. Of all the things I thought I might see in this game, Lee getting yanked in the 4th wasn't one of them.
