Shady, honest question -- do you know anything about any team other than the yankees?
:goodposting: tired of your constant bashing. Just because I dont think the Indians wont make the playoffs has nothing at all to do with the Yankees. :puttingyouonignore: congrats
Oh no, not the ignore list.I only made the comment since you seem to scoff at anybody possibly rising up and putting a good team together. The Indians have a very, very good young team - most people who follow the game can notice that. But, you are the same guy who scoffed at the Tigers last summer as well.

That'll learn him :bag:
;) I didnt do it to punish him. I did it for my own sanity. I come to these boards to enjoy myself. Why should I constantly be bashed by the same person. Thats not very fun. Hence ignore list.

ESPN's new rankings...

2007 Power Rankings: May 4

RK LW RANK TEAM REC COMMENT

1 2 Red Sox 18-9 Manny Ramirez is in the midst of one of his patented hot streaks right now. Just sit back and enjoy it, folks.

2 1 Mets 17-10 Moises Alou is nothing less than an absolute hitting machine. The guy can rake!

3 5 Indians 17-8 Jake Westbrook's injury puts Fausto Carmona back in the rotation. Carmona goes for his fourth straight QS on Monday.

4 3 Tigers 16-11 Sheff's cooking again. The 38-year-old slugger has nine hits in his last 18 at-bats, including two homers.

5 4 Braves 17-10 Kelly Johnson has been a pleasant surprise offensively batting out of the leadoff spot and defensively at second base.

6 8 Brewers 18-10 A well-rested Francisco Cordero enters the Pirates series having allowed just two hits and zero runs.

7 6 Dodgers 17-11 Mark Hendrickson has allowed just two earned runs in three starts (16.2 IP) since Jason Schmidt went on the DL.

8 9 Twins 15-13 What's wrong with Joe Nathan? Opponents are batting .339 against the Twins' closer.

9 11 Padres 15-13 It's taking longer for Kevin Kouzmanoff (.118 BA) to get comfortable than the Padres would have liked.

10 15 Angels 16-13 While Bartolo Colon remains undefeated, Jered Weaver (5.12 ERA) still has some things to work out.

11 7 Blue Jays 13-15 Great one game, bad the next. The Jays just never know what to expect from A.J. Burnett.

12 10 Giants 14-13 Don't be surprised if Tim Lincecum (0.29 ERA, 46 K's in 31 innings at Triple-A) is as good as advertised.

13 12 Yankees 12-14 On a team filled with stars (some of whom are aging quickly), Jorge Posada is as valuable as any of them.

14 16 Diamondbacks 16-14 Split personality. In one-run games, the Diamondbacks are 7-1 at home and 1-5 on the road.

15 19 Cubs 12-14 Derrek Lee has raised his average 55 points to .415 since April 23, a span of eight games.

16 14 Athletics 13-14 Another day, another injury. Losing Mike Piazza doesn't help the offense, but the A's need to keep on trucking.

17 23 Marlins 13-14 Dontrelle Willis continues to show that he's very comfortable swinging the bat (three hits, including a triple, in 11 at-bats).

18 17 Pirates 13-14 Enjoy second place while it lasts. The Pirates have been outscored 123 to 97.

19 25 Mariners 12-11 Keep an eye on Yuniesky Betancourt. He is emerging as one of the best all-around shortstops in the game.

20 22 Phillies 13-15 Adam Eaton is above .500 (3-2) only because he's had a lot of run support. His ERA (8.18) is just plain awful.

21 13 White Sox 12-13 Reliever David Aardsma (2-0) has an impressive 23 strikeouts in 15.2 innings, holding opponents to a .154 BAA.

22 24 Reds 13-15 Adam Dunn has nine runs, seven RBI and four homers in his last six games.

23 27 Devil Rays 13-15 B.J. Upton is very quickly becoming a feared presence in the middle of the Rays' lineup.

24 20 Astros 12-15 The only negative about Roy Oswalt: He?s walked 18 in seven starts. Oswalt issued 38 last season.

25 18 Orioles 12-16 Chad Bradford (0.79 ERA in 16 appearances) has been dynamite pitching out of the O's bullpen.

26 26 Rockies 11-17 Matt Holliday leads the majors in hits (45) and ranks second in batting average (.385). Too bad he can't pitch.

27 21 Cardinals 10-16 Some rather ugly numbers from the last five games, all losses: 6.64 team ERA, .229 BA, 36 runs allowed.

28 30 Royals 10-19 Looks like the Royals have found a closer: Joakim Soria (.167 BAA) has five saves in five chances.

29 28 Rangers 10-18 Remember me? Sammy Sosa is averaging a home run every 13 at-bats and hitting .385 with runners in scoring position.

30 29 Nationals 9-19 Shawn Hill hasn?t allowed more than three earned in each of his six starts, but he has just a 2-3 record.

So ESPN basically does the power rankings in order of their records ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
You're the Yankees fan right? You might want to read it again
:lmao: With a few tweaks here and there its basically done in order of their current record. You're gonna tell me the Angels, Blue Jays, Padres, and Giants are better than the Yankees? Pfft
A few tweaks? There's 10 teams with a better winning percentage ranked below them

These would be my rankings:

1Red Sox 18-92 Mets 17-10 3 Tigers 16-11 4 Braves 17-105 Dodgers 17-11 6 Indians 17-8 7 Brewers 18-10 8 Twins 15-13 9 Yankees 12-14 10 White Sox 12-1311 Angels 16-13 12 Diamondbacks 16-14 13 Padres 15-13 14 Phillies 13-15 15 Blue Jays 13-15 16 Giants 14-13 17 Athletics 13-1418 Reds 13-15 19 Cardinals 10-16 20 Marlins 13-14 21 Cubs 12-1422 Astros 12-15 23 Mariners 12-1124 Devil Rays 13-15 25 Pirates 13-14 26 Orioles 12-16 27 Rockies 11-17 28 Royals 10-19 29 Rangers 10-18 30 Nationals 9-19

BTW I find it hilarious that the Indians have a worse lineup than the Yankees, just as bad of a bullpen as the Yankees, and similar starting pitching as the Yankees yet people on this board think its laughable when I say the Indians are not the #2 team. Yet these same people also pick the Yankees to win 84-89 games this year. :lmao: Talk about bias. How can somebody make that argument when the Indians and the Yankees are both all hitting, no pitching teams with bad bullpens yet the Yankees wont make the playoffs and the Indians are the 2nd best team in baseball. You cant have it both ways.

Bad bullpen? Indians bullpen has been one of their strengths. Been getting average starting pitching (not including C.C.) and hitting so far.Still a long way to go but I like what I've seen from the Indians so far.

The Indians bullpen has a 3.68 ERA and batters are hitting .216 against them. Not sure what the Yankees are, but I'm sure they are not that good.

The Indians have CC Sabathia. The Yankees do not have anyone in his class. Simply by having the anchor of the staff in Sabathia, that makes the Indians starting rotation more viable than the Yankees.

Once again its May. If you expect their bullpen to be that good the rest of the year you are delusional. But I do agree Yankees dont have a caliber pitcher as good as CC but after him the Indians rotation is just as bad as the Yankees.

:blackdot: at the cluster#### in the NL East.

The Braves and the Phillies are now only 2 games back of the Mets. This should be an interesting upcoming couple of months.

SI's original Top 10... (Post Season % chance by BP)

1. 97.4 New York Yankees

2. 99.9 Los Angeles Angels

3. 99.9 Boston Red Sox

4. 03.1 Los Angeles Dodgers

5. 90.3 New York Mets

6. 00.0 St. Louis Cardinals

7. 99.5 Cleveland Indians

8. 03.1 Detroit Tigers

9. 00.0 Toronto Blue Jays

10. 00.8 Atlanta Braves

Missed on...

11. 82.1 Diamondbacks

16. 73.0 Padres

13. 48.0 Phillies

18. 44.6 Brewers

Considering his #2 and #3 ranked teams, pitching means nothing to this guy. Phillies should have made that list IMO and although Cleveland will be tough, they aren't going to be the second best team in their division yet in all of baseball. :1948:
Not saying the Indians cant compete but 2nd best team right now? NO WAY. The Tigers have more talent than them.
The Indians at # 2 is a joke. The Blue Jays have as much of shot of making the playoffs as the Indians.

:goodposting:
Yep I seriously misjudged the Tigers. My thought process was Tigers would win central and both Yanks and Sox would make playoffs. Ill eat my crow now.

This would be my 12 pack:

7. St Louis Cards (defending champ bump)

8. Anaheim Angels

9. Minnesota Twins

10. San Diego Padres

11. Milwaukee Brewers

12. Oakland A's
I don't think any of these teams are better than Cleveland.
Again, I think the Indians will be a dangerous team but I think they are actually going to be a little overrated in 2007. After reading all the Tigers boards there are a lot of folks who think the Indians are just going to be insane good. If they were in the west, maybe. Having to play against the pitching in Detroit, Minnesota, and Chicago over 50 times is really going to hurt a team that leans too much on offense. Maybe they should have made my top 12 as far as raw talent but I considered situational information. I think any of the four teams in the AL Central would be in first in any other division in baseball outside the AL East. First to 90 wins gets it.
:kicksrock:

Also the Indians are in NO WAY IN HELL the 2nd best team in baseball.

:goodposting: I dont really care what their record is right now, its May 4th. Ill say it again there is NO WAY the Indians are the 2nd best team in baseball at the end of the season. I will even go as far as saying they dont make the playoffs.
heh heh heh
