***MNF - Cowboys at Chargers*** (-1.5, 51) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Wow, I won a game by 1.2 points. That's . . . tight. He had Dallas's D. No more points. That walking off was huge, too. If somebody picked Herbert, I would have lost. And they would have thrown it up. Can't believe they let the clock discrepancy just wind down like that.

Hooo boy.

Wonder how many fantasy wins/losses are gonna flip on Dak Prescott not taking another knee when the clock didn't run out there. -1 rushing yard would have dropped him from 40 to 39

Chargers reportedly went to a silent count during the game because there were so many Dallas fans at SoFi.

Hey, Spanos, how about them apples?

Man.

I was up by like .20 going into that last drive with just Ceedee and my opponent had Herbert and Ekeler. I just knew I was about to lose.

One sack and an interception later…6-0 baby! :headbang:

IMO Herbert is overrated.. He is decent, but a lot of people have him in their top 5-7 and I don't see it.

Things I said last year and people just called me a hater.

To be fair - most of these guys are close in talent- it’s more about the combo of a solid surrounding cast, coaching and team health.

Detroit plays both these teams.
  • Week 10 at SoFi - we’ll be coming off a bye, Chargers will be on a short week returning from at NYJ MNF
  • Week 17 at JerryWorld - this one could have playoff seeding implications, but that’s a long, long ways off; goal #1 is the division title
Honestly if you could bottle up what Detroit has going on in all 3 phases rn, we could beat these teams. But that’s not how an NFL season works. There are ebbs and tides, who knows what any of these three teams will be in a month or three from now.

The Chargers are the same team they have been since Barry Hilton sold the franchise. You think next month might be different? I'll take the Lions by one score.

That would be disappointing

Lions have won their last four games by 14 or more

:clyde:
Chargers haven't lost a game by more than 7 since last October. Virtually every game they play is decided by one score.

The Chargers are the AFC version of the Cowboys. Flashy, soft, choking dogs.

Detroit is a football town who have been waiting 66 years for a real football team. Tough team repping a tough town.

And to me it's amazing that Staley is so dunderheaded about things.

Hey Staley: points matter. Those simple little FG's early in the game matter. Points keep momentum on your side. Failing on 4th down over and over shifts momentum. AND YOU LOSE POINTS.

Crazy.

Also, perhaps call some better plays on 4th down.

My god…..fire Staley tomorrow.
That has to be a louder drum beat in the media
I still think the Chargers need a serious upgrade on outside weapons
Keenan Allen is a secure set of hands but he doesn't stretch the field

-We can go thru the other names, 1 of them is gone for the season and seems like he gets hurt a lot, others are unproven
-San Diego/Los Angeles needs to think abut trading for a true Top5 weapon at WR to go with this BIG ARM

We. had Big Ben, meet Giant Justin and get him outfitted with a better weapon at TE, look at all these great young prospects that have come out at WR/TE in the last.3 years since Herbert was drafted. meanwhile the Tua has a Hill and a Waddle, he now looks like a clear NFL starter with some decent OL play, who knew? (Uhhhhh, like everyone MoP)

Oh I’m not comparing the struggle, Bobby.

Ive long come to peace with the trade of my soul for those 3 Super Bowls when I was a kid.

It was worth it. The trash talk then was far more rewarding than it would be now. I’ll eat my medicine.

You forgot poorly coached.

That too. We can keep going, undisciplined.

felt that

and the ones above

put up with bad football for decades, don't know what to do with myself now that we have an owner who cares, a GM who can draft, a coach who could motivate a sloth. Weird being this good in all 3 phases (and also knowing wow there's still meat on the bone....we can keep getting better.)

crazy good year for Detroit so far, let's hope they keep rolling

It definitely feels like your time.

I was born in August of 1969 and the Chiefs won the Super Bowl after that season when I was an infant. So I literally went my entire life of getting kicked in the nuts waiting for the Chiefs to figure it now. And man it feels good and with two in the bank the last few years Chiefs fans are officially spoiled.

Detroit is on that track. They just need to cash this thing in now. I've said it before - I really like that team and situation.

Appreciate that perspective.

Why? And I mean WHY???? does Staley still have a job in Chargerland? Crazy to think Rivers' talent was wasted, then get lucky on draft day -end up with Herbert- and he's a stud- and waste this new talent with more poor coaching??>? WTH? WHY?

Why do they keep showing that lone fan wearing the #10 shirt? Is she the only L.A. fan in the building?
Because for viewers she was one of the more entertaining parts of this penalty-fest game.
Is this true? She's not a player wife or somehow famous?
Despite what social analyst Aaron Rodgers says, she's real. Her name is Merriane Do, she has 4 kids, she's a Charger fan, and she's apparently like that all the time.

She was more excited about the chargers than the chargers.
