How hard is it to hand off or screen pass to gore considering the throw wouldnt be that far so smith could hit him and he is about the best player on that team

SHUT THE #### UP IN THE BOOTH. CHRIST
You'd prefer another IBM commercial? It's not like they're holding up the game so the guys can talk. I'd rather listen to Jaws and Young, who know what they're talking about than the same Chili's commercial every break.

Why would you not kick the FG early in the third quarter? At least give you team something to play for.

How do these guys get paid so much money to mismanaged games so badly is unreal.

we get the overly loud nissan commercials.
I don't think I've seen my favorite. A group of guys in an empty bar singing "Viva Viagra".

I don't think going on and on and on and on and on and on about how they found Tony Romo from a barn to become an NFL QB really qualifies. It was a conversation about nothing. Too many voices in one booth. All trying to speak at the same time.

Wonder what the record is for most 4th down conversions prevented.

Gotta love the MNF shutout record. I still remember with great fondness the 42-0 blasting of the Eagles two seasons ago. Especially because the tool at work that talked trash all week before. Eat it DB!!!

Can you imagine being a Niners fan and having this awful of a season...and then knowing that maybe the best team ever has your top-3 pick.

:lmao:

Well its too early to tell for sure, but I think I may like the SAless seahawk offense a little better. RB's caught 5 passes, te's caught 5.

This year more than makes up for getting swept last year. Hard to be super proud of beatting this alleged NFL team, but a big win for the NFCW chase.

well guys thanks for hanging out. we managed to get 5 pages out of this snoozer. Next week might be better. broncs titans?

Their last top pick isn't helping them much. Just leaves them more cap room for the large number of positions they need to upgrade.

But during the past week the coach stated they were going pass heavy, because it was what was working. Even when SA might be playing tonight. As in - it was what was working while SA was on the field. The fact it was used more and worked is a solid sign for Seattle. When Morris had 19 carries at under 3 yards a clip, its hard to see him as a catalyst. But I do like the new offense playcalling better. Call what works.

Arnaz Battle with some cheap points lol
Which shouldn't count at all. I'd hate to be one of the 6 guys across the country that lose from those phantom points. I guess the booth has 15 minutes to review the play.
I think it was the right call. The guy had both feet down and control of the ball. It wasn't gripped like you'd normally grip a football, but he had it. A second later, a guy knocked it out of his hands and out of bounds. That's a catch.

The draft is what fans of crappy teams have to look forward to in the middle of a 1-9 season. No such luck here.

Passing to the runningbacks does not work while SA is on the field. See the first play of last week.

 use the pass to set up the run. It may be a style that is suited better for Morris but I would like to see Alexander get the same opportunity.

This is another case where the stats don't tell everything. There were a number of times when Morris got 3-7 more yards than SA would've on the same run. Running through traffic and contact instead of curling up. In addition to his pass catching. If that was SA in there he'd have struggled to break 50 yards. I didn't watch his blocking all the time, but I saw him pick up a few blitzes more than SA would've as well. And there were zero boos from the stands. I liked the way Morris ran today, but the one time he ran like SA he fumbled. The line still has work to do, but it's easier to block for a guy that you know will get in there and dig for the yards you're taking a beating for.

Alexander did see the same opportunity years ago when Watters was the receiving/runningback. When the reigns were handed over to Alexander, they pain stakingly tried to fit him in. He simply cannot block and cannot catch. I was shocked when they signed him to that fat contract. I don't know how a RB makes it to this level while not being able to passblock or catch but SA managed it. And now that Hutch is blocking for Minn, his running game is gone as well. I hope you guys are wrong and they don't bring SA back. he does not work in this type of offense.

Teach him how to block and catch passes. Even before the wrist was hurt he dropped a bunch of passes, preseason too. And his blocking...uh no comment. But it isn't good. A step above 'Ole'.

Every single guy on ESPN except Berman slammed SA for losing heart after getting the paycheck. Every one, and Jackson, Ditka and Johnson were harsh about it.

He's been leading the team in dropped passes for years. And there's a reason they bring him to the sidelines when they pass. Because he can't block.

DJax was always in the top 5 of the league, no way SA led the team ever.

I think your complete contempt for Alexander is clouding your vision slightly. I counted at least 4 plays in the first half that Morris had nowhere to run and looked no better than Alexander - and another 5 or so plays that Morris had holes that Alexander hasn't seen all year - mostly due to the delayed draw type of plays that Alexander rarely gets. I'm not an Alexander apologist but everyone knows it's Alexander on 1st and 10, 2nd and 7, then a pass - it's pretty hard to make plays.

I'm not saying Morris is a better running back. I'm saying SA can't block or catch. The reason its SA on 1st and 10, 2nd and 7 and a pass is because he is undependable in the passing game. I say let him sit. QB lose their jobs all the time to injuries. As long as this works, stick with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm saying this as a long time seahawk fan not some FFL guy hoping to snag a few points out of their wasted first round pick.

Well I don't agree with your assessment. Yeah he had holes today, but he also ran through a lot of contact, something that SA hasn't been doing. He didn't power through people, but he didn't go down when a few guys got shots on him. A couple of twists and hops, picking up some extra yards. SA just curls up, turns backwards and stops his feet when he is in the same situations. And if SA could block or catch, he'd be in there more in situations where draws work. Fact of the matter is, Morris is more valuable to the team right now because he's more well rounded and plays with more heart.

yeah and he had 23, 15, 12, and 12 over the last 4 years. The RB's had 5 tonight. But more importantly, how many did the RB's drop tonight? I cringe everytime they throw SA the ball.

What about 04, 05, 06 and 07? Think the NFL will let us borrow stats from 5 years ago to win games this year? What does five years ago have to do with today? A lot of players are different than they were then. Around the time he became a superstar he quit catching the ball. Last year and this year before the wrist injury he sucked in the passing game in addition to not being a very good blocker.

What these last four years show is a lack of faith in SA as a receiver. Holmgren knows it, everyone else should by now.

Well, i'm gonna crash. Hopefully, we've seen the last of SA for the season.
If it were up to me, I would wait until SA was healthy enough to get his cast off, and bring him back around week 15 or 16. It would guarantee him to be fresh for the playoffs which is when we could use him. Last year he was very effective in the playoffs.I've said this before but the cast is the main reason for his struggles.

And you're still wrong. I'm not saying it's a non factor. But there are so many more problems in his game than just the wrist. He was unimpressive in preseason and in games before he got hurt and before Strong was lost.

Darrell Jackson 20/237/1 Don't know how many drops but I can think of 2 or 3 not counting the one tonight on the first play which was well defended but still hit him in both hands. Tonight he had 1 catch for 4 yards. And this little tidbit from the Yahoo write up:

Darrell Jackson sat stewing at his locker long after most of his San Francisco teammates left Monday night, the longtime Seattle receiver still wearing his grass-stained 49ers uniform.

Trading him for a good OL prospect with a great name (Mansfield Wrotto) was one of the best moves they made in the offseason aside from getting two new safeties (note the lack of long pass plays against this year). They still would've come out on top if they just gave him away.
