I'm really looking forward to this game tonight. Are you ready for some football? My predictionColts 31Pats 21

Colts lose their first game of the season.I am going to be contrarian here and say it's a low-scoring affair. Often in these MNF games, it seems when a huge shootout is touted, it ends up being a rather boring or lackluster game.Colts D plays up to their reputation, NE D plays up to the challenge. 16-13 NE, with Vinatieri hitting the game winner in a two minute drill.

Colts 34Pats 27Not a fan of either, but I think the current state of the Pats D will be enough to get the monkey of Indy's back.

Just wanted to add one more thing. For all of you saying something to the effect of "the defense isn't what it once was argument has been used before and the Colts still lost", remember this:Last year, when that argument was going around, no teams were able to take advantage of the speculated deficiency. This year, many teams have done so. It's a real deficiency on the field this year, not on paper like it was last year.New England has been lit up by no less than four teams this year, and was taken to the wire by a Buffalo team that well... stinks. Is New England still a competitive team? Yes. Are they the Super Bowl caliber team of 2004 that spanked the Colts? No.If the Colts are as good as they have played this year, they will win this game by 10 or more points.

Colts by 17but none of us will be here to talk about nit because Bellicheck is the higher being that created the universe and thus we all POOF out of existence as this defeat proves he is actually just a man...

Pats win 34-20....Indy proves their D is tough, but pats prove they are the defending world champs and execute on offense while stepping up on defense.

On the Indystar.com Colts forums, there is this user named "ManningsArmy." He's a guy that pretends to be a Colts fan and basically is a troll. He (meaning his persona) always is super-worried about Tom Brady and the Patriots - and no win or performance against any other team is good enough, and if the Colts have a quarter when they don't play well, he'll talk about all the doomsday scenarios for this team.

Well, today, I feel like his character. I hear weather forecast of showers and 50 mph gusts on Monday, and that the NE MLS team will tear the field apart, and talk from sports psychologists about what happens when one team owns the other team, etc.

If the Colts win on Monday, somehow, I'll feel relief. I'm not even sure I'd feel joy - just relief. One thing I won't be saying is "I told you so" - because I have to see it for myself, and I can't blame anyone for seeing things in that way. I admire other Colts fans who are more optimistic than I am - I just hope they are right and I am wrong.
That's exactly how i feel and sadly I think the Pats will win.

Can't wait for this game...but at the same time, can't wait for the whole hoopla to die already. It's getting tiresome a bit.Now honestly, while a lot of people were proved wrong last year about NE's defense being too injured/ineffective to compete with the Colts, it really wasn't in THAT bad a shape as the mess they have this year. I mean, Buffalo is one of the worst offensive teams in the league and they rolled up 400+ yards on the Pats. That being said, home-field advantage and mental edge goes a long way. If the Colts can get out of their own heads, and if they can stop Brady for the whole game (since he's had some monster 4th quarters this year), they will win.Resisting every urge to pick the Pats...and thus I will say Colts win 23-17

The best part about this game is every NE fan has admitted that the Colts have a better team this year and will likely win, yet somehow one clueless dolt (might not even be a Colts fan) will jump all over the board talking trash after the game. :lmao:

I think there would be one Colts fan that would do that. I don't have to spell out his name - I think we all know who I'm talking about.

Ofcourse, he would be far outnumbered by the number of Pats fans who did the same thing is recent years when the Pats had the superior TEAM.

Also, HOw do we know if the Colts run defense is any good? They have played poor teams and they are 7-0, meaning that teams arent running when they are losing
My guess is that Corey Simon and Bob Sanders makes a difference in the run defense. I've always thought the Colts needed a big fat guy in the middle, ever since they lost Tony Siragusa to Baltimore. They take up a lot of space, and if talented, can raise havoc with the running game. Sanders is a great run stopping safety when asked to play the run, and the Colts linebackers are playing much better ever since they got Morris out as a starter
sounds nice, now all they have to do is stop the runPats have been running the ball so good this year

Well so far I'm 13/13 in my pick 'em league (a first in the league's 4 year history) and I have the Pats winning tonight. My point? Colts win, Colts win!

Pats - 27Indy - 24Tedy Bruschi inducted into the NFL HoF at halftime and Belichick awarded Rhodes Scholar plaque after the game. (Confirming what we all knew, GENIUS)

Indy 27Pats 17And not that close.(This is assuming both Seymour and Dillon play and are resonable semblances of themselves. If they are out - especially Dillon - it'll be a slaughter.)

Pats win 34-20....

Indy proves their D is tough, but pats prove they are the defending world champs and execute on offense while stepping up on defense.
They prove their D is tough by giving up 34 points? I don't follow.

Pats - 27

Indy - 24

:lmao: :lmao: That one made me laugh good

This game has been billed as the " Game of The Year". However, wouldn't it be tough to watch this game if ABC's coverage is as bad as ESPN's was last week. I don't know if that's even possible. But if i see Ted Bruschi Worshiped the way he was last week Vs. the Bills, I might just turn the "Game of The Year" off tonight. How do you think ABC Handles their coverage tonight? Last week was brutal.

NE 27 Indy 24Egde scores 3 TD's and Branch records his second in a late NE comeback and my fantasy team overcomes a 45pt. deficit for a win!

I don't get all of the criticism for announcers...I've never really been that bothered by any announcer...I'm always paying too much attention to the game to really care.

Just watching this pre game show on ESPN they are really praising a guy who has 2 holes in his heart and didn't do a thing against the Bills last week. They are showing him a LITTLE less so far, but still, they are so over the top with this guy.I know it's on ABC tonight, but they are affiliated with ESPN. ABC owns ESPN I believe.

likewise, except the networks are starting to push the game into the background for their stupid sideline interviews...that is when things can get quite frustrating, which was highlighted the best with the NE patriots owner being interviewed during one of the game changing plays last Sunday night...

Definitley! The turning point of the game we were stuck listening to a lame old fogie talk about nothing that's interesting to anyone who's actually into the game.

I think you may want to make one more edit - something about the Rams and worst offenses in the league....
