***MNF*** Jaguars vs. Chargers (1 Viewer)

Dr. Awesome

Let's hope this game plays out better than I fear.

Gabbert looks like the next David Carr. Rivers is...well I don't know what his problem is. Hiding an injury? Either way this is a battle between two terrible teams.

I see Rivers dominating the depleted Jacksonville secondary (I expect it to be one of Jackson's massive games), while MJD runs all over the Chargers. In the end, the Chargers win a close, but epically bad game.

Did I hear that right? One of the offensive tackles protecting Rivers practiced for the first time this Wednesday?

And :lmao: at Jaws and Gruden going at it.

Teams have figured out his shortcomings. Exposed. And Gates isnt (and previously LT) able to continually abuse the defenders based upon their pure ability to overcome it.

Berman with the funniest thing I've ever heard on ESPN! Jacksonville, the city that gave us the Allman Brothers... But also gave us Limp Biskit (in a deprecating voice). Gold Jerry, gold!

You know, everyone is badmouthing this thing so much that I'm starting to expect a really entertaining game with a dramatic finish.

What a catch by Gates. Rivers makes a terrible throw into double coverage and the defenders bobble the pick. Gates reaches over and hauls it in with one hand.

Good to see Jared Gaither getting the start tonite. I coached him in HS basketball. Phenomenal athlete who has really played relatively little football.

Great kid and Pro bowl ability if he can get in the right situation.

Jags' corners are so banged up, they're dropping everybody into soft zones. Sooner or later they're going to have to gamble with pressure.

Chargers have 10. Jags need to shut them out the rest of the way to have a chance. (only semi-joking)

Leading up to this game, I heard rumors today all day on Los Angeles sports talk radio that (a) the Jaguars are headed to Los Angeles or (b) the Jaguars are headed to St. Louis and the Rams are headed to Los Angeles.

My goodness Gabbert looks like the worst starting quarterback in the league. I'm struggling to think of any starting qb even in his tier. Tarvaris? Haine? It's not a matter of making bad throws. He was getting some pressure but had time to throw the ball. Instead he weakly throws the ball away into the ground as he falls away from the hit (which never came). It's not a fluke - it's what he's done all year.

I don't know if you can coach someone to stop wincing from imaginary hits. Can anyone think of another guy who went from being scared to a tough qb who would step up in the pocket?

How long will Jacksonville put up with this guy before pulling the plug for good?

They gave the GM that drafted him a 3 year extension, so I would say about 3 more years.

I hadn't heard that. I've figured this game to be the battle of future LA teams. 70-30 on it being the Chargers.

Can't wait for STL & SEA next week :(
Rams will be missing :

Top 2 QB's (Bradford and Feeley)

LT (Saffold)

RT (Smith)

RG (Bell)

top 8 CB's (BArtell, Fletcher, Murphy to name only a few)

WR's (Amendola, Salas, Clayton, DX)

The will to win because they are a weak franchise with a weak fanbase and no moral basepoint to justify their very existence.

Weak fanbase ? They sell out almost every game despite the worst stretch of losing these last 6 years in NFL history.

I'm guessing Vincent Jackson finishes the game with 35 yards and no TDs. If he doesn't get into the game early on he won't be a factor...and so far he is an afterthought at best.

Also good to see the Chargers are taking Jones Drew out of the game...by holding him to only 5o yards and a TD so far.

Seriously, Jones=Drew is just adorable. His little legs, so cute. I can't be the only one laughing when he was running in the open field.

Here's a thought.

Chargers may fire Norv Turner at the end of the year. Jaguars already have a coaching vacancy. They have a top notch defense but are horrible on offense. They don't have much in the cupboard in a passing game, but they have the kind of RB you can build an offense around. The kind of workhorse RB that Norv Turner loves and excels with, ala Emmitt Smith, Ricky Williams, LT2, Frank Gore, etc.

After the season... Turner to Jacksonville?

Morally weak and lacking in good taste or standards.

Why doesn't he just stay? Bolts don't need him. No point having a lame duck finish the season.
