Modified Serpentine Drafts (1 Viewer)

Short and simple -

Our free (guppy) work league is looking to try out a modified serpentine draft this year, either switching just the third round or all rounds after the third round in order to make picks more balanced.

What free league hosts out there allow for this kind of draft setup customization? These people are unwilling to pay anything for anything, so no MFL-type hosts.

Thanks!

People (including me) have been asking the guy at fleaflicker.com to do this ... I'm pretty sure he plans to although it's not implemented yet. He's pretty good at getting requests for mods into the system though, so I expect some way of doing this to be available soon whether you choose a specific draft style (like banzai), or you just manually change the picks around with the commish powers.

Is this the new CW? That the standard go-to serpentine is not the fairest? Is the thinking that those picking near the top of the 1st round are at an unfair advantage or disadvantage? Thanks!!

You can draft for free at MFL and rearrange the draft order however you want (albeit it by having the commish manually change the draft order). But you'd have to host the league after that someplace else if you wanted it for free . . .

ah, interesting! didn't know that MFL allowed free drafts without site hosting! thanks!

after looking around MFL, all i see for free is doing the "trial" league. this seems a bit dishonest, as we'd like to do this for multiple years. is there something i'm missing that allows for free drafting @ MFL other than the trial league??

You can set up as many trial leagues as you want and do the same process year in and year out, but you'll have to reenter the settings each year.

If you set up a draft at Mock Draft Central (you can make it private with a password) AND choose the NFFC scoring option, it will give you the correct format for a 14 team draft with a reversal of the order beginning with the 3rd round, so your draft would look likeRound 1 - 1 through 14

Round 2 - 14 through 1

Round 3 - 14 through 1

Round 4 - 1 through 14 and continue to serpentine from here
