I need to buy a monitor that will basically display a spreadsheet 10 hours a day.

I'm worried about burn-in... what's my best option LED, LCD, Plasma? Anything else I should consider?

I don't think you've made it clear what you want to do. Are you looking for something to be sitting on your desk with you in front of it? Are you looking for something to hang on the wall for everyone to see? What size do you need?

I would assume you just want a computer monitor for your desk, but then you are asking about plasma and plasma computer monitors never existed (they don't really even exist for TV's anymore).

It would be mounted on a wall for everyone to see. I am looking at screens in the 42-50 in range.

Next post and you've hit 1k!

Anyway, if you're going to be starring at the screen all day, and working up figures and such - go computer monitor over TV.

Nevermind. Cheapish TV in that size and you'll be fine. You're not looking for the latest and greatest picture from the sounds of it. You likely don't even care if it has speakers or not.

OK great, thanks.

Yeah, pretty spot on here. I'd personally start with a low end Vizio, but honestly, I don't have much experience with exactly what you are doing, so there may be better options.

Hah... I just bought the 58" version of this for one of our meeting rooms. Delivers today or tomorrow.

i still use a monitor with a big back on it not even a flat deal i bet it gets up to about five hondo degrees in the summer its like having a space heater in the winter tho so that is pretty sweet bromigos take that to the bank

Walmart sells some of the cheapest TVs in the size range. Just paid about 500 for like 6 50" for work.

You could also opt for 3-4 smaller monitors and go Eyefinity with them.

yeah look here cappy amazin i appreciate the feedback and all but one i aint made of money and two i do not need four monitors i mean what in the hell is the old swcer going to do with four monitors not happening anyhow thanks for the great ideas and take that to the bank bromigo

what about buying an old run down movie theater in a bad part of town and fixing it up to use as your monitor and then having the entire region rally around your new theater like in the original cars movie and then you pave that road get mater to fix up some stuff slap on the neon and bam its just like the forties again except you know sort of different because its a computer monitor that did not exist back then take that to the bank bromigo
