Most random halloween thing your kids got trick or treating? (1 Viewer)

Some houses are going to non-traditional treats because of food allergies and such. So, if your kid got something other than candy, this may be why. Also, some of you may have seen houses with teal colored pumpkins, this tells parents that those houses are giving out safe treats for all kids and not peanut treats or anything like that. I found out about this to late but might do it next year.

Yup. I found those glow stick bracelets for $1 for 20 or 25. So we bought a bunch of those and then let each kid choose a piece of candy and a bracelet.

My youngest daughter came home with a rolled up piece of paper. Apparently a woman was giving out hand drawn cat art. It was an 8x11 sheet of paper blocked out like a comic book with 6 cat drawings in various outfits. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it, extremely weird. If she was trolling it's pretty funny, if not
:D  I'd love to see a picture!

Asian family down the street from us were giving out sodas along with candy. Guy sounded like the manager in the Chinese restaurant at the end of A Christmas Story. So awesome

The Picture (better quality so you can really appreciate it)

guess she thought we couldn't handle a 6th, went wide with the fishing cat, wanted to get a little more background in there
so did each kid get their own original or was it just copied multiple times? The whole thing is hysterical, albeit a bit nutty.

Her friend received a totally different drawing so there were at least a couple different options. It doesn't seem like a copy, I'm not 100% sure though. One of my older daughters took them out so the details are fuzzy.

One house gives out onions, celery, potatoes, crabs, stuff like that.  It is the most popular hours in the complex.

That picture is awesome....

We were down a little this year with close to 200 kids. We have gotten as high as 350-400 or so. Yes, my wife likes to make a game of it and we put our predictions in at the start of the night and she keeps a little tally board by the door. We give out good stuff, so I always wonder how many just make repeat stops.

The level of costumes this year were just amazing. Some of these little kid's parents went all out in designing this stuff. Nights like last night sort of give me hope about the youth of today--every kid was really polite and either said thank you or commented on my daughter's costume or our decorations. Just a real good group.

The one that just stuck with me was this little girl--no more than 3-4 years old, I would say, who came up to our door by herself (the parents were in front on the sidewalk) and she was dressed as a little princess with a beautiful pink dress. She was bald and you could tell was really struggling to walk, but she smiled and said thank you. It was a little dusty in the room there after she left.

that cat picture is boss bromigos whoever drew that is cool as hell and giving it out is even better when you got a light like that in you you let that baby shine that is all i am sayin take that to the bank brohans

I gave out handfuls of soup bouillon cubes one year in high school. They look just like candy with their shiny foil wrappers. Could hardly contain myself when a girl in one of my classes complained about some ####### in the neighborhood who tricked her little brother into eating a soup cube.

I remember tossing in those individually wrapped cough drops to kids one year when I was over visiting my parents

Ages 3 & 5...each got 3 pairs of ear buds from the same house.
Update.  Took the ear buds into work (20 person office) and all were gone within 10 seconds of telling the story and offering them up).

Not sure why you were in such a hurry to get rid of the ear buds. Kids go through those like orange juice after basketball practice. Just wait.

I kept one pair...but my kids are 3 & 5 and have never used buds.  They have full on headphones when we are on a plane but don't use them otherwise.

That’s why I said Just Wait. No biggie. They’re a dime a dozen. But your kids will be looking for pairs soon, and often. :fellowparent:

GB ear buds, without them I'd have listened to the Seagulls Yoda bad lip sync song an additional 5,000 times, it's funny and all but I have my breaking point.

Why do you hate children?
Ha, my kids say this every year but you know what, they're a big hit.  There are plenty of folks who don't want their toddler (and younger) age kid to have candy and of course, there are those with food allergies.

Besides, we also give out candy so it's their choice.

one year my old man got all boozed and decided to hand out knuckle sandwhiches and hurts donuts some six year old would show up and he would say you think your better than me all slurry and then challenge him to a fight it was great right up until the coppers showed up take that to the bank brohans
