Most rushing yards in a season without a 100 yard game? (1 Viewer)

Right now Marshawn Lynch has 457 rushing yards in 6 games for an average of 76 yards per game. I think that's pretty solid for a guy that hasn't had a single 100 yard game yet. I know 100 yards is just an arbitrary number without much meaning, but I wonder if anyone knows the most rushing yards in a season without a single 100 yard game?

Off the top of my head, I'd say that Curtis Enis has the most rushing yards in a season without a 100-yard rushing game, since 1995. I'd guess there have been around 14 RBs to rush for 700 yards in the past 12 seasons, and not hit 100-yards in any single game.

that michael pittman is a pimp making the list 2X.he must go down in history as the greatest RB4 in history. nothing better in bye-week hell than a guy will, without a doubt, get you 50 yards and some catches.

So nobody's ever rushed for 1000 yards in a season without getting 100 yards in at least 1 game, interesting.
Since 1995. I have no idea if it's happened before then, but I'd suspect it has.
The liklihood drops the farther you go back due to fewer games back then.
But they were three times as many seasons from 1960-1994.Additionally, with fewer workhorse RBs, that lends itself to less 100 yard games but more RBs with 60+ games.

Exactly one player in NFL history has had 1000 yards receiving in a season without a 100-yard receiving game.

Who and when?

My first guess was Craig, but he had one 100-yard game that season. Faulk had a 200 yard game in his 1,000 yard season. I'd guess it was a tight end or slow WR.

fred taylor may have the most legit. shot to do it this season.

he's on track for 950 with no game over 90. since he's the starter, but splits carries he could have a ton of 60-80 yard games. the other guys (lynch and lendale) could/should rip out a huge one.

Presumably the pre-1995 years come from the new PFR data courtesy of ESPN versus your old PFR data, Doug?Too bad we can't get our hands on that stuff...
