Most underrated Offensive Player in the NFL (1 Viewer)

Tiki Barber Last Three Years Avg1375 Rushing 550 Receiving Yards63 Catches10 TDs In those three years, he has lead the league once in Yards from Scrimmage and finished 4th another time. This year he is on pace for over 1500 yards rushing and another 300 receiving so far. While Tiki gets accolades, he is still underated. He has been one of the NFL's top weapons overall the past few years. When you watch the Giants you see what he means to this offense, and how great an all around player he is - running, receiving, blocking. I am biased as a Giants fan, but I do believe he is still underated.

I really don't think Tiki is underrated. The fact that he is one of the first guys mentioned whenever a discussion like this takes place kind of proves that. You can only be considered underrated for so long before the secret's out.
That was my first thought as well, but once the guy posted his stats side by side with LT's, I changed my mind- we still have a ways to go before we have given Tiki the credit he deserves.

Tom Brady

Leads league in passing... no one seems to care...

I know he's not a caretaker QB anymore, but damn, he's putting up HUGE numbers in games this year. It's gonna be great to watch him shred the Colts tonight.
:goodposting: forgot about him when I made my list.Judging by some's feelings, I'd also nominate Mike Vick

This one is easy. Mike Sellers. You can't tell me there's a guy who has scored more points in a season in which he wasn't expected to catch more than five passes.

Is that really the point? Kyle Johnson of Denver has almost an identical statline thus far, and nobody thought he'd a big factor in their offense this season. Still, I don't think he's a candidate for most underrated player.

The fact that he has 5 TDs really tells us very little about him or his skill set, which is kind of what this thread is about.

when it comes to FF it's Tiki and Dunn for sure... and it's total underrated-ness because you look at their #s, current and past, and they are way ahead of where their ADP is... it's riddiculous how many people passed on Tiki or Dunn for JJ or KJ or even guys like Jamal and Portisi bet there are a lot of guys w/ LT, Tiki and a top 5 WR that are OWNING thier leauge :hey:

:goodposting: TIKI IS UNDERRATED!

What about Plax & Ward?

Both receivers were underrated in a Pittsburg system that is always run first. Ward can block with the best of em and Plax is showing us when he's actually a key player in an offense he can put up big numbers.

Maybe this will change people's opinon on Jake Delhomme that he a top echelon QB in this league. He is sneaking his way into the top 5 range.

Jake Delhomme? please.

The answer is Big Ben... look at the guy's record. All he does is win and make big tackles :boxing:
Big Ben is given so much credit for the Steelers and everyone talks about how good he is and is going to be. Of course this is all deserved credit as he is a great football player that makes his team a whole lot better. Ben is good and IMO gets more appreciation then Jake.

Please. The sheer volume of Steelers fans give this guy plenty of exposure. He is most definitely not underrated. He is good and he gets plenty of credit for it.

I agree with Barber, Dunn, Neal, and Delhomme. Good picks there.

I'd also throw out Jimmy Smith, Jake Plummer, and Shaun Alexander.
I'm with you on Jimmy Smith. Jake Plummer has been vastly OVERrated his entire career, although he certainly has been solid this year. Alexander is clearly an elite fantasy RB, but I'd hardly consider him underrated from a real life perspective.
Disagreed about Plummer being overrated. He just quietly put up one of the best QB seasons in all of football, and still people can talk about nothing except how he's going to cost the team the game. Come on, the guy has the lowest INT percentage of any full-time starter in the league, and everyone's acting like it was just some colossal 16 game fluke and he's just waiting to be exposed. Here's a fun stat for you: Guess who was the best playoff QB against the blitz this season? Here's a hint: he's one of three QBs to throw double-digit TD passes against the blitz, got sacked the lowest percentage of the time against the blitz, and was the only QB on the list who didn't throw A SINGLE INTERCEPTION against the blitz all season long. Not Peyton Manning. Not Tom Brady. Not Jake Delhomme, or Ben Roethlisberger. Jake Plummer.

Here's another fun stat for you: Manning's the #1 QB off of play action. Who is #2 in the NFL over the past 2 seasons? Jake Plummer again.

Manning and Brady have the highest winning percentage over the last 3 years. Guess who is next. Yup, Jake Plummer again. So can we please stop acting like the last 40+ games have all been some sort of charade and he's going to revert to his Arizona form any minute now?

Anyway, as for most underrated player in the league... I'm a Broncos homer, but I have to go with Tom Nalen. The numbers speak for themselves.
