Most underrated team in football right now (1 Viewer)

It is what it is said:
Oakland Raiders
Agreed. On O, they looked completely lost early on in the preseason, but Brooks seems to have settled in. The guy is no Montana, but in this offence, all that is needed is a mobile QB who can deliver the ball. They have a WR that is arguably the best in the league (when he wants to play), supplemented by some younger talent and speed. They have a tough yet versatile back who makes Ds respect the run. All that is needed is their Oline to come together, which I think it will as the season rolls on -- after all, most everyone on that line is playing a different position than he was last year. People automatically assume their D is a sieve, and though their secondary still looks a little weak, this is a young, aggressive group who seemingly stood up the run fairly well in preseason. What they lack in experience they make up for in opportunistic play, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the D, well, surprise in games this year.I think the Lions are going to surprise this year, too.

Minnesota VikingsThe defense is going to surprise a lot of people. And Brad Johnson is without a doubt THE most underrated QB in the league. And Chet Taylor doesn't even have to be good to run behind the left side of McKinnie/Hutchinson/Birk with Tony Richardson leading the way.And Jermaine Wiggins is the most underrated TE in the league. And Troy Williamson has shown flashes of #7 overall pick potential.
I like Minny to win the division.
This is the reason I say the Bears are underrated. They are better and healthier than they were last year. It is comical how little respect they are getting. They had OL injuries and defensive injuries as well as playing Kyle Orton at QB and they finished 11-5. With that defense and a solid two RB's they will have a top 3 record in the NFC. I put down a bunch of shekels on the over and I recommend you do the same.
I looked up this post and as a Giant fan I thought I would have said them. I did put a lot on the Bears over and also flagged FBG's for having the Bears offense so low, but 7-0 was more than I expected. They are a very solid team, but you have to wonder if Grossman could have one stinker in the playoffs?

My opinion is that the most underrated team in the league right now is GB. They have 2 Veterans on the corners in woodson and harris who can play in your face coverage. They HAVE GIVIN UP ONLY 4 SACKS SINCE KICKOFF OF WEEK 3. 2 of those sacks were against Jason Taylor when a ROOKIE had to step in to a position he hasnt played all year 20 minutes before game time. If you give Brett Favre protection, he can carry a team. Their run blocking scheme is starting to take off, and most importantly they are building confidence. AJ Hawk is showing why he was drafted as high as he was. Abdul Hodge is coming on in practice and should be on the field starting next week(speculation).

Lastly - most everyone thinks they stink.....and this is a topic about "underrated". My vote for most underrated is the Pack.

I have to say Oakland too..their defense puts their hearts into the game..weak OL yes but can be improved

and with Hasselbeck out a few more weeks and SA possible 1-2 weeks..I beleive this is the most underrated team (minus the injuries of course)! :)

I still say KC.....maybe they need the win in STL to truly validate themselves
They definitely look like the best 4 win team in the NFL right now. I was going to say they're really underrated at this point, but NFL.com is running a story about that very subject right now - so I guess they don't qualify anymore.Meaningless statistic: The Chiefs to date have scored exactly as many points as they've given up: 152

I agree with this. I picked the pack to be 10-6 this year, and they've played well, minus some injuries. They have the easiest schedule in the league next to the Bears, and I think they can really come on strong late.I also think the Rams aren't getting any respect. All I hear about is "look at the Rams everyone thinks they suck but they are finding ways to win" on espn and even around here some. This was a playoff team that disintegrated last year when their coach almost died and their QB went on IR. Why is it such a surprise that they came back?Would be interested on some more opinions now that the season is half over.

Well yes, but this was written BEFORE the season started. The Bears were underrated coming into the season. some of the following posts are now talking about teams that are underrated NOW. I agree with some of them and we can dissect them as well. For example, Miami was overrated before the season started, but are they underrated now...or do they just stink? I think the Giants were underrated coming into the season as I saw them picked either last or 3rd in the division by almost everyone. Washington was a team that was way overrated coming in IMO.

I thought Carolina would be better this year and at 4-4 are a bit disappointing. I actually think Pitt was overrated coming in this year.

An interesting way to look at things is to see the Over and under of teams coming into the year. Vegas has a better handle on teams that sportswriters, although they missed on Chicago and that is why I am in the money!!!

Not sure what you thought at the beginning of the year, but Ahman is also running very well and that has helped. the line is not giving him too much, but he is looking very good even if the production hasn't been great.

don't count the 49ers out...remember this team outscored chicago (arguably the best team in the NFC) 10-0 in the second half last week.

Dufresne's defense didn't look so good Monday night! Can people pull out their preseason picks? MLB picked GB to go 10-6 which is crazy to me, but he threw it out there. My worst pick was saying the Dolphins would be 9-7  Of course they could still punch out and get there  I had the Giants winning the division and Washington last so that was good. I had the Steelers missing the playoffs, so that is good, but I had Carolina as the top record in the NFC with Seattle #3 behind the Giants. Seattle is in deep doo doo so that was bad. I also thought Oakland would be a 8 win team so that is looking bad. I thought Brooks would throw well to Moss and Porter...maybe he still will. As I said before the year though, the Bears over under was crazy as I saw the Bears winning at least 11 games and I thought 13 was my target number.
