Mr. Reggie Bush.....where are ya? (1 Viewer)

But Deuce hasn't been the "goal line back". They've both gotten chances down there.

Zack Crockett was the goaline back in Oakland back in the day.. that doesn't mean Garner didn't get a couple chances inside the 10 himself.

What the coaches have said in the preseason about the usage of Deuce has been pretty accurate. Frankly, I don't know why you chalk it up to "coachspeak"... after all if you don't listen to the organization then you are listening to what exactly?... the hype.

And of course people knew he wasn't going to be getting all the carries and expectations WERE tempered because of it. If they weren't I can guarantee you you would've been seeing Bush go off the board in round 1 in many drafts.
Then we are obviously talking at cross purposes. The entire point of this thread is that some are disappointed about Bush's performance. My comments are obviously addressed to those people, not those who agree with me (ie. you).

I'm convinced that people are blinded by the hype. Someone please convince me otherwise.
I don't know a lot about Bush (though to date he's produced pretty well), but I recall the coaches consistently said in the preseason that Deuce would get a lot of carries, including the goal line carries. Many chose to overlook that reality for the hype.
what he said . . .
For starters, 90% of what we hear from coaches in the preseason is false...it's called coachspeak.Next, Deuce hasn't gotten all the goalline carries, he's just converted on a couple more of them.
translation; Bush is not an effective goal line back . . . he has looked terrible on his goal line carries . . .
Don't you think thats jumping the gun a little?
no . . .

I think Reggie has the better day vs the 31st ranked rushing Defense at TB. They have looked very slow in their first three games and I see Reggie punishing them on Sunday.

Where art thou?....So far other rookies are looking nice. Maroney DWill Addai Norwood.
Bush has a pedestrian 60 yards so far.Maroney 9 for 13, and lo and behold Corey looks better in tougher matchups. My thought has been Maroney is explosive when opportunities are given, Dillon has veteranship to make something out of nothing. Maroney just dances and gets STUFFED.Addai has 58... looking better as the game goes on.

GB 2 PPR leagues

I am still amazed at this exchange:

I just watched the highlights, and they were as impressive the second go-round as the first - he is a full gear quicker than everyone else on the field and makes moves noone else could make - his cutbacks are ankle breaking, his ability to find space is impressive, his instinctual vision is second to noone - he demonstrated all three of those skills in this game.
Uh, no.Deion Sanders had a gear that was quicker than anyone else on the field.Michael Vick has a gear that is quicker than anyone else on the field. They routinely did/do things that make you say "I cannot believe he outran that!"I've seen both of those guys absolutely embarass the rest of the NFL and turn corners and outrun tackles that seemed impossible. In NO way was Reggie Bush on that level today. Maybe he has that speed, I dunno. I didn't see it.
Now I REALLY know you lack all credibility.
Let me ask you this. Are you putting Reggie Bush on the same level as Deion Sanders in terms of breakaway ability? You said second-to-none.
Nope.I'm putting him on a higher level.I'm putting him on the Faulk-Sayers-Sanders level.Need anything else?
Now, we're pretty used to seeing guys who get most of their threads locked making outrageous prognostications. But this Marc Levin fellow is an admin doing it...Putting Bush on a higher level and Faulk, Sayers, Sanders...after 1 medicore game in the NFL. I don't get it. The guy acts like a rabid Bush homer.
