MS Word Problem (1 Viewer)

I've got a document that I need to print. I didn't create it, it was sent to me. The document has tables inside it with information that the previous user has filled in.

When I try to print it, the data inside the tables does not print but the tables themselves (borders, headings) do. Also after clicking print the data disappears. I can see it just fine prior to printing but after printing - there's nothing there.

Any suggestions to get it to print correctly?

Do you need to have access to the data? To change it? If not, maybe the sender can resend it as a PDF file.

Before that maybe try to make a PDF yourself. May be unlikely because creating a PDF is essentially printing.

Just a thought...

If all you're worried about is printing, how about a screen print to grab it as a graphic and then insert it into another document to print?

I've saved it as a pdf and an rtf to no avail. I've copied it and pasted into a new document, no dice.

It does show up in print preview but doesn't actually print.

I don't really want to do screen shots because there are 9 documents, each around 12 pages.

It's the strangest thing...

Could it be a setting in the border or the table that sends the text behind the border? Is there a level option ("send to back"; "bring to front") that you can play with?

Only other time I've seen things like this is with low memory. Have you tried rebooting and then printing?

Check the printer itself. It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads, and I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

It's not low memory or the printer, because a co-worker sent it to me to try and figure out the problem. She prints to a different printer than I do.

I tried the File->Print Selection, same thing happened.

Finally got it figured out. I went to Office Button->Word Options->Display-> then unchecked "Update Fields before printing."

What a complete PITA. Thanks for all the suggestions.
