MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FANTASY FOOTBALL AND VBD (1 Viewer)

bigbottom

Footballguy
Well, it's about that time of year. Fantasy football magazines have been sent to the printers, mock drafts are underway, and Footballguys is in full swing with its daily updates and membership drive. Surprisingly enough, the vast collection of parodies debuted over in the Free For All does not include a song that is actually about fantasy football, presumably the very topic that brought us here in the first place. Enter Smoo.

Smoo actually wrote this little diddy a while back. It didn't make it into production in time for last year's draft season, so we decided to hold off until now. So for you fantasy football junkies, please check out our musical tribute to Value Based Drafting!

The tune: I Want My VBD!

Lyrics can be found here.

*Note to Mods: Joe has given the okay to post this in the Shark Pool (heck, it's pretty much a commercial for VBD).

This made my day. Great job as always.
Thanks man. Any ideas for a song about this?
AVT, Maximizesyour FP, when you can't just

pick LT, AVT, draft with me

and you'll win your league, yo. [/Jackson5]
AVT is pretty silly in our opinion. It's fine to look at history as a guide, but we don't see why the 4th QB will always be worth X number of fantasy points. It just looks like a lazy way to do quick projections to us.

That's harder to write a song about. :ninja:

AVT, is as uselessas Kid C. Might work if you

draft LT, AVT, just lazy

per Dodds at FBG. [/Jackson5]

I agree it is silly to use it as a tool to do projections, but I find it very helpful in double checking my own projections. If I have 6 or 7 years worth of average points per position, that information comes in handy to see how many standard deviations I am off in my rankings compared to history. I try to be within one SD either way so I know I am in the ballpark.I think by ignoring historic trends you do you own projections a disservice.

But this is the wrong thread to discuss that.

 at the Kid C. reference though.

He did. It just makes me laugh with the backstory of it all. From what I remember there was allegations that Kid C stole the idea from Shick! and comedy ensued.
