My league just went to a funky format for the draft (1 Viewer)

So our serpentine draft went to an auction format for the first 4 players. You MUST bid on and win 4 players before the serpentine draft kicks in.

We get $100 and after the first 4 rounds it reverts to serpentine. No advantage to not using your cap because it goes away after the first four rounds.

Anyone ever do it this way and can offer some advice?

$49 on A-Rod, $49 on Santana, and then take the last two picks in the draft(you'll have your pick, since the draft can't start until you buy your last two players)

Throw out a couple players outside of the top 48 for a $1.....if someone overbids your buck, you'll have another top 48 player at the end of the draft.

If you do this I would not throw out Santana as your other $49 player. Try Hanley or Reyes, Wright , Holliday. If only 48 players are going in the auction you can get pitchers in the draft portion. Do not throw out anyone outside of the top 48. If you buy 2 top players for $49 then the next time throw out #47. If you get him great. If someone outbids you then you will get at worst #46 and #48.
