My Stock Value Strategy Starts Now (2 Viewers)

FEED is on the move. Now at 3.26. Not sure what I am going to do here. I wanted 3.40, but I like the prospect of selling and getting more EXM and oil too

I sold 5,000 shares at 3.43. I just want to lock in some of this this terrific gain. I still own 6,000 shares at an average price of 3.19.

Did the same thing, David.

Took the profit from FEED at 3.40 and moved it to EXM at 6.30. Trying to decide whether to pull the FAZ profit off the table now, too. I don't think this is a one day thing, but the BDI and huge pull back on EXM smell like an over-reaction.

I am inches from selling the remaing 6,000 shares here too because I love oil and EXM at these levels. That's usually my criteria (Do I have a better place to put the money?). But something tells me that FEED is going to go up a lot in the next month (just a hunch)

Agreed on FEED. Just feel that EXM has a little more short term upside and think I can get back to FEED around 3.20-3.40 any time this week. Hard to know if this is a natural pullback for EXM from the runup while the BDI dropped or if this is one of many over-reactions we've seen over the past two weeks. I'm betting we see 6.75+ with EXM before 3.6-3.7 with FEED.We'll see. :blackdot:ETA: Then again, FEED could go up .15/share at any second...like the 45 seconds it took to type the reply. :lmao: :confused:

Wow, a couple of limits I set last night hit. Just as I said I was going to hold FEED for a while, a stop loss for 3.05 hits this morning.
:confused: :blackdot: Oh well, that's what I get for playing it too safe.FEED looks like it will hit 3.50 by close, easy.

I might have seller's remorse in a few minutes, but sold the remaining 6,000 shares of FEED at 3.49 (I entered that number figuring I would be ecstatic if it hit it since that's 30 cents a share)

Profit today on FEED:

5,000 shares at 3.43 (.24/share) = $1200

6,000 shares at 3.49 (.30/share) = $1800

less $30 commissions for a gain of $2970.

Revising this after the ridiculous FEED rally:

Year to Date Profit = $48,765

Today's Realized Gains/Losses: +2970 FEED

Holding these positions (unrealized gains/losses):

20,000 DXO @ 2.68 (Will sell at 2.90) - Currently at 2.61

2,000 UCO @ 7.51 (Will sell at 8.00) - Currently at 7.26

2,000 EXM @ 6.41 (Will sell at 7.15) - Currently at 6.36

Huge opportunity today for people to have added shares cheaply. I am very pleased with my FEED profit, but I am somewhat saddened that I took such a huge position early on DXO/UCO. Had I not done that, even more money would have went to FEED and EXM which were huge bargains. FEED hit 2.98 today and it closed at 3.65. That's just insane on a day when virtually all normal stocks (non-shorts) were off. I am upside down on oil, but think $50 July oil is laughable. I can't imagine losing money on this although I may have to wait a bit since I did not time the bottom. EXM also was pushed way too low and I am liking my position here.

Tomorrow will be interesting if the whole market is down again.

Picked up FAS at open for 8.35 (one third of my account). It looks like I will be testing my average down theory here quickly. I will double down if it gets to 7.00 or at the end of the day if it is still below 7.50. If it continues down in the coming days, I will put the last third of my stack in around 5.50. Then wait and hold on.
Waited for the end of day acceleration and picked up my second group of shares at 6.565. My average is now 7.34. If it hits $5 this week I will buy my last group. If it hits $8, I will look to sell.Goog luck to all FAS/FAZ owners!

Longview of Oil

Nice Chart Here

I am not a huge technical guy, but I like the slow pull back in the current retreat (vice the steeper drops earlier) that this chart shows me. Economy is clearly not out of the woods yet, but I think we see $60 July oil very soon. If a conflict arises, it could hit $70+ by July. Oil might still go a little lower in the very short-term, but these levels seem like low risk investments with a lot more possible upside than downside.

Couldn't get the "Press Your Luck" theme out of my head after 3:30 and sold FAZ at 3:55. Might be well above 12 tomorrow morning, but I decided not to be a :unsure: .

EXM After Hours: 6.72 +0.22 (3.37%) - Apr 20, 4:18PM EDTLet's hope it holds.
Let's hope. Wasn't a fan of seeing it slide, slide, slide all day. Almost bought another 500 shares in the $6.30's but decided I didn't want to get overweight.Of course, I've got a paper gain of $1,950 on FEED today, I should not be complaining. :confused:

FAZ up 30% on the day. I scored HUGE today....I'm gonna holdout for more...at least until 15.0. The more analysts learn about the Banks, the more they're not going to like. It's gonna get ugly and I plan to profit from it...gotta love being able to short the market!!:shrug:Anybody else holding for more huge gains or are you getting out now?

Congrats. Still holding 200 or 300 shares and bought some FAS after the drop as insurance. Hope you're right about $15.

Well if the govt. is honest/transparent about the stress tests then we will exceed 20 easily IMHO...but if they play hide and seek or even sugarcoat it we may not see the explosive gains I was hoping for, although todays 30% wasn't bad.

Good job guys, I just don't have the stomach for playing the short side. I just need the safety of knowing that if if FAS goes down hard now that somewhere down the road it will get my money back. I'll just average down and hope for a spike.

I have to disagree with some of you on FAZ. I think we'll see some profit taking today and I don't think we're totally out of the woods yet on this "financial crisis". A lot of companies are reporting next week, including several smaller banks and GS on Tuesday. I agree that we will probably never see FAZ at $20 again, but it wouldn't surprise me if we hit $15 again....for a few hours. :goodposting:
My sell order is at $13.16 and I'm in at $12.19. Am I being greedy here?

Oops.

and oil is heading further south....how do I always get upside down in oil?
DD - I feel odd offering advice to someone who's crushed the market this year but here goes. You often provide detailed analysis when you first take a position and then later get away from this analysis. For instance with dry shipping you made the case why it was undervalued. Later you seconded guessed yourself because things were slow to come and got out just prior to the gains coming you predicted came to fruition. With oil you made a great case about why DXO was a strong play even though oil was overpriced. You talked about shorting after the roll overs occurred last week. My suggestion would be to re-read your initial posts about why you took a position and give them a little more weight before you change a strategy. Your initial calls always seem to be spot on.

Yeah, I see that.....thinking of changing my sell order to $13.30 and then not looking at it again. :D

Sure glad I bought DXO yesterday. GOnna be a fun day.Already down to $2.42
Good thing about oil is that will rebound. But you are right that we may have to hold this longer than I had hoped. I am upset that I another 10,000 shares yesterday after my initial buy. I am going to add even more to this and my EXM position today.

added 2,000 shares of EXM at 6.24 (seemed like I got screwed at the time as I ordered via market order and the price was 6.17, but I see this is moving fast this morning)

added another 10,000 DXO at 2.47.....Not sure how I feel about doing this. I know it will rebound, but I may need to hold for a bit of time. Average of 30,000 shares is now @ 2.61

I just saw FEED trip the $4.00 mark. :thumbup:
Just came here to post this.... Kicking myself for not jumping in at 3.50.
Kicking myself for setting a loss order of 3.05.
Bought in a small posistion of 500 at 3.89. I think this will be a long term China Play and wont mind if I buy more if this slides back to 3.20. I have been puting off jumping in and couldn't handle it if this thing moves to $12 by the end of the year.

sold 4,000 shares of EXM at 6.95 (lowered my target after getting 2,000 more shares cheap today). - Profit = 4,000 x .62/share = $2,456

Have a sell for SBLK at 3.00

oil is fighting so hard to come back. DXO up to 2.57 which is still off what my average cost is (2.61), but looks a lot better than the 2.42 in pre-market activity. I will diversify and sell 10,000 shares at 2.61 if it gets there

GE just keeps giving gifts. I had covered calls written for 10 that expired Friday. GE had been over 10 and had assumed my shares would be sold. It dipped on Friday below the strike price and now right back over $10. So I keep my premium and the shares. Just wrote some April 11 covered calls for another $.50/share. I'll either cash in an extra $1.50 or shave another $.50 off the cost.
I mirrored your trade here and it's looking good going into 4 days before options expire. GE is well over the strike price of 11 (knock wood.) If the options expire in the money this weekend I make $713.63 ~ 14%.
Just updating. These options expired in the money so I did hit that 14% return.

Sold 1,500 EXM @ 6.95 for a profit of $354.73

~~~~
Dodds, have you looked at FREE recently? $0.10 off it's high for the day. Seems to be jumping around between 1.45 & 1.35 today.
It's funny you posted this because I just put in a 5,000 share buy at 1.35 if it executes
