My Stock Value Strategy Starts Now (1 Viewer)

Putting my money where my mouth is. Bought 1,000 FEED @ $5.99. Will look to sell in the $6.30's.
I'm in for a few hundred shares of FEED myself.purchased 4/22/0819.65:bag: ;) rally time.
Never had a chance to sell the extra 1,000 shares I picked up. Opened at $7 today and now in the $6.80 range. Since it's jumped up well above the spot I thought was resistence I am holding on for the next resistence lvl of $8.00.I cut bait on a lot of my huge losers just around the time the rally started. Good to see you are getting some of your money back.

FAZ anyone???? $4.50
XThis is a no FAZ zone.
I actually have made a little on FAZ. Been selling calls on it at ridiculously high strikes. That business has waned though. Believe it or not just a few short weeks ago I sold some FAZ June 27 calls and actually made a good little premium.Glad to be back here. My work had blocked FBG and apparently they modified our filter here a bit so I can get through now.
Run this by me. You sold a June 27 call. Does that mean some doofus bought the thing thinking FAZ could go to 27? Is that how that works because if it is, man that guy is an idiot because it would take a nuclear war to get FAZ to 27....even a few weeks ago.
That is exactly right. Don't get me wrong, I didn't take rich all of a sudden from the trade, I just took some free money off the table.ETA: I just checked my records, I received a $.45/share premium for writing it. Wish I had written more than I did but I don't like to write a lot of uncovered calls. I'm not that big of a risk taker but this one just seemed like free money.
That is free $. I'm just amazed that someone actually thought that FAZ could get back to 27.

Now that oil seems to be heading up, what are some of the companies that provide services that might be a good value?

Added WRES to my list of stocks to watch a few weeks ago, anyone have some others?

Found a few: TS, TDW, SLB

I can't believe this. GPRE has advance 25% today in the first 20 minutes trading over 100,000 shares. Thats over 3 times the average daily volume.WTF? There really hasn't been any news over the past 8 trading days.
I was considering buying some today too after the posts you made Friday.

Thoughts on why DRYS has dropped so much today? There was something about an order for some drillships, right? Did they cancel those orders?

Schlumberger (SLB) is a good bet. They've got a lot of good field talent (assuming that they didn't let them all go during the $40/bbl oil season). Higher prices means more oil exploration and pilot rigs. That's SLB's bread and butter.

The RSI is appraoching 90, so this is going to pull back sometime soon, I'll post when it does. The 100 day MA is inching closer to crossing over the 200 day MA.

because although DRYS tried to convince people that they have not decided to dilute again, they have $200M in covenants that they they need restructured and still owe $1.1B for the Drill Ships. So most expect them to offer more stock soon. I got suckered in for 1,000 shares. They do a lot of spot work so are reaping great dollars right now.

CTIC halted trading a short time ago to release data on a presumptive new cancer drug for NHL patients and request priority review. Can't remember who else might have been in on this one, but quotes resume in a little over 10 minutes, trading at 230 EDT.

Was trading at 1.58 before the halt.

Sorry, that might have been information worth including  , but yep.Significant increases in remissions and response rate. I think the real news here is the priority review and the fact that the news will be more widespread after its discussion at today's ASCO conference, but I might be off base.

Not sure if this will work, but here goes.CTIC BUY 500 TRAILING STOP 1%$1.5958 OPEN

Here's the CTIC release.

Abstracts with this data were released some months ago and approval was expected to occur sometime very late this year, early next apparently. Presentation at the conference today (2pm) seems to have included an announcement of the priority review. Little early for me to tell, but it would appear that approval (which would seem a lock given the numbers and the toxicity of the current std of care) might come much sooner.

If the recent runs on biotech news is any indication, CTIC will fly, then pull back for a couple of days, then see another small bump before settling (see VNDA primarily). This one might be different given that it's not an approval announcement.

Bids are apparently in the 3.50 range on Level II, but I don't have that on my Level II screen. Probably a bogus board rumor...

Yeah, that made no sense.Up a little over 10% (additional) in initial trading after the halt. Probably above 2.00 I'd guess before too long.

Scottrade, Inc.Intra-Day Trade Notification - June 01, 2009Dear Client:RE Account: xxxxx7xxTrade type: BUYSecurity symbol: CTICQuantity: 500.000Price: 1.638

CTIC has had some crazy volumes recently and I'd guess may probably be all over the place as shorts cover and day traders decide on a profit level.

FAZ triggered at 4.35 for me. I have 1,000 shares. wooohhoooo on the FAZ train....
How do you catch the bottoms so frequently? Then as soon as you are in, it's up .15. Congrats again.
I watch the graph and wait for it to bottom and head up. This thing hit 4.30 on my screen so I did not hit the bottom.
and I have FAZ to sell at 4.55 here too....although I will dump it regardless as we near the market close if I don't get the 20 cents

There's probably some daytrading profit to be made with CTIC, but it's more of a long term hold as full potential may not come until approval. That's still down the line. The data would strongly suggest that this will be approved, though, so there should be a steady gain with some fits and starts. Those who have been following this since some shenanigans sent it way way down earlier in the year were expecting 3.00 by July and much more after approval.

YMMV.

Should have sold PRGN at $5.70 this morning, the thought went thru my head but I didn't act on it. Could buy back now for $700 cheaper.

I sold this am @5.66 and have a buy in a 5.25. Would love to have that go through but I'm not holding my breath.

Year to Date Profit = $126,507

Today's Realized Gains/Losses = $4,582

Dividend on 27,000 PRGN (will post in about a week, but I earned it) - Profit = $1,350

Sold 10,000 PRGN @ 5.65 - Profit = $3,000 - 24

Bought/Sold 1,000 EGLE - Profit = $80 - 12

Bought/Sold 1,000 FAZ - Profit = $200 -12

Unrealized Gains:

28,000 PRGN @ 5.38

1,000 DRYS @ 7.95
