I'm not quite ready to concede victory to NE just yet, but I just found an interesting stat...I wanted to get it down on paper before I forget.

the only times Denver has ever lost a home playoff game, they went to two out of the next four superbowls. They lost at home vs Pittsburgh in 1984 and went to Superbowls following '86 and '87 seasons. They lost at home to Jax in 1996 and went to superbowls following '97 and '98 seasons.

Should NE win, we can expect Denver to become a pwerhouse again by 2007.

This trend kinda makes sense - in both cases, the teams were good enough to be good during the regular season, and on the cusp of being a great team. Truth be told, same could be said of this team - Give Plummer a couple more years in the system, some fresh blood at WR, more maturity @ RB & DB...we might be a year or two early with the Broncos.

Or, we can win now and be great in 2005; what ever works. :banned:

They could beat NE and still lose to Pittsburgh at home in the AFC Champ game.(while we're pipe dreaming anyway).

Every time Denver has been 13-3, they've lost in their first playoff game. ;)
???They were 14-2 the two years they won the Bowl?
No, 12-4 the first time. They didn't even win the division - they had to travel to KC in the divisional playoff game.

I thought the '01 Pats were the first team in a LONG time to win every road game and the Bowl. Were they the host of the WC game the weekend before?

The Pats only played 3 games that year ... home vs. Oakland (the snow game, so it had to be in NE ;) ), at Pittsburgh, and vs. St. Louis in New Orleans. The '85 Pats were the first and only team to win 3 roadies to get to the Super Bowl.

yeah, they avenged the loss to JAX at home. Then to KC, then to Pitt. Good times.

That's it - '85 pats won three road games - I know Miami and Cleveland were two of them.

Nope. Jets, L.A. Raiders and Dolphins.
