Oldest daughter (20) forgave her but lost all respect. She's a nursing student with a 4.0 at a top rated school. Middle kid, 16 year old daughter, worships her mother (unfortunately) and hates her step mom (my brother married a great woman who has 2 kids of her own). Youngest boy (14) worships his dad and doesn't really like his mother. So a mixed bag. My ex-SIL cheated on my brother then married one of the guys and had 2 kids. She gave up custody to my brother then fought for every other weekend. So the kids have a step mom and step dad. Step mom (my brothers new wife) tries her best and is a wonderful woman. I don't know the step dad at all really.

My ex-SIL definately has some kind of mental disorder. She was screwed up from an early age. Her parents have like 15 kids and are super conservative/paranoid. The whole situation sucks. I'm hopeful that when they get out of the house into college that they will be able to reflect on their childhood and realize my brother was the real parent. The 20 year old has. The 16 year old is completely brainwashed by her mother.

My friend has 2 sons. One was a little older when it went down and he basically blamed both parents which was fair. The youngest bought Moms BS totally. Until he got to be about 18 and suddenly he realized she had been lying to him for years. Totally changed his tune.

Man, PB, really sorry to hear this. I don't have any advice as I can't even fathom going through that.
