My wife wants a dog, help! (1 Viewer)

Add another vote for ditching the wife and getting a dog. My dude's only flaws are that he wants to greet every single effing dog anywhere we go and that when I want to do long trips to national parks he cant come. So I guess he's too friendly and other dog owners ruined it for everyone.

He's got a doggy door, and we go for a walk or run every day that it isn't pouring down rain. Easy. He's got the run of the house during the day. He's not allowed on the couch, and he has the gosh darned common courtesy of only getting on it when I'm not around. I've never dated a woman who had the decency to hide the stuff that annoyed me about her.

Say what now?
I have 6 cats. They live outside, all were abandoned, and are all spayed/neutered. There are 2 cats who come around to eat. They aren’t really “mine” but I kind of take care of them.

just get a pitbull and after the police investigation your wife will probably not want a dog ever again take that to the bank brohans

She's retired and home all day by herself. She says she's lonely and having a dog would help get her out of the house to go for walks etc.

I put my foot down and said it's not happening.

Long story short, I'm getting a dog

I recommend something big.  They get much calmer as they age than the small ones.

Same boat.  Love our little mutt, but she is a lot of work.  Once she passes, I would rather go back to being that person that loves to visit people with dogs and get my fill that way.
Same here, we have a 14 year old and a 12 year old, I'll miss them, but it will be nice to not have to get home or figure something out when we want to get away.
