Fried Cheese Curds (in Wisconsin) are among the best Bar or County Fair food ever.I don't know if I would have ever had poutine if I didn't visit Canada at least once a year. I think I'd choose it over chili cheese fries now.
Those cheese curds are just good stuff.
Excellent question my friend. Do you weigh your bread before you eat it?You were eating 8 lbs worth of bread every 3 weeks?
Whatever you are doing--stop it--and go to the store and buy a jar of Nutella (unless you are allergic to chocolate or hazelnuts). I can't speak for everybody in this forum--but I personally think Nutella is absolutely amazing. Good enough to make a standard slice of toast into a delicacy.Nutella, Tounge, Durian, rabbit, ghost peppers (?),
ETA to add PIgs Feet
How do you feel about Strudel?Never been a big sweet eater and realized there's a bunch of desserts I've never had, especially some common pies. Not because I don't think I'd like them, but I rarely eat dessert and just haven't. Peach, pear, strawberry-rhubarb, rhubarb, banana cream, sweet potato, chocolate pecan, and a lot more. Trying to drop some weight right now, but I have some pies to try at some point.
Usually once or twice a week when the time is right and my wife is fast asleep. How do you feel about Strudel?
Let's just say it's an acquired taste.Came in to post the same.
Chet, is it good?
You can't stand the texture of something you have never eaten?Peanut butter. And not because I'm allergic.
Oatmeal. Can't stand the texture of it.
I blame the reality tv shows for lowering the standards for popular so populsr foods conceivably could include beetsI've never eaten beets. They look and smell disgusting.
Wow--any reason for not trying peanut butter? That one seems like a biggie. I don't quite understand the oatmeal thing. Oatmeal can be made in a variety of textures--some people like it more runny--and some people like it more firm. I can understand if you haven't eaten it because it's not visually appealing--but I don't quite get your "textural" motivation.Peanut butter. And not because I'm allergic.
Oatmeal. Can't stand the texture of it.
Im not sure I ever did eitherWas thinking forever about this and it just came to me, never had a McRib.
Is that from the Beet Council? Because there is no way beets could ever be worth that.Americans consumed $1.3 billion worth of beets in 2013 (the last year that sales figures are available).
DeliciousI've never eaten beets. They look and smell disgusting.
I love snouts and entrailsIt's mostly snouts and entrails, pressed into a rib shape.
Roasted beets are fantastic in a salad. Or just sliced very thin and served with some quality olive oil and sea salt.I blame the reality tv shows for lowering the standards for popular so populsr foods conceivably could include beets
Never had rabbit before either, although when I was a kid, I remember going to a restaurant serving hasenpfeffer stew on Easter. I was a pre-teen, so past the Easter Bunny, so part of me found that amusing.A lot of interesting answers in here. Not sure there's any food that a reasonable person could define as "popular" (in the US) that I've never tried though...and many of the answers in here are foods that I would think most reasonable people would NOT characterize as "popular". (Seriously...who would call caviar "popular"?!)
We all have less common/popular foods we haven't tried before. I haven't had rabbit before...but is that "popular"? I would certainly try it given the opportunity. I've made it a basic rule to try any food at least once.
A different question...what nearly universally loved food do you despise? For me, any oatmeal, grits or cream of wheat makes me gag and retch before it even hits my stomach. I'd say it was the consistancy but I love rice pudding.

RE: Oatmeal, I've put it in my mouth, but can't swallow it. the warm drippiness of it just freaks me out. So While I've tasted it, I've never actually eaten it. Maybe making it differently would help, but I don't really feel i'm missing out on anything, so I'm not in a rush to get creative.
RE: Peanut butter: I don't like any nuts. the taste and smell doesn't work for me. So I naturally avoid peanut butter.
I know, I'm odd....I get 'the look' from everyone when I tell them I don't eat peanut butter. Its like I don't like breathing or something.
One day in the south, and you can cut 2/3 of this list out.Grits, collard greens, crawfish, Hash, deviled eggs, okra, turnips, chitlins, Ricky mountain oysters
