*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (16 Viewers)

here come the excuses, Lebron has a head cold. Lets not forget, he got almost no hours of sleep before game 1, and in pregame interviews he said he was "tired". LOL this guy is just too much...he just absolutely craves attention.

"I'm taking everything you can get it from 7-Eleven," James said. "I've been sick since we got here."
for the record Rose has a bum ankle. Boozer has Turf Toe. Deng a dislocated finger. Brewer has 9 good fingers somedays.
You have to wonder why LeBron feels the need to announce this stuff when he knows his fans will make up excuses for him regardless of what he says. Remember all the folks here in the FFA suggesting LeBron's elbow was injured last year when the Cavs were upset?
Why do you assume he announced it? If he has a bad cold I'm sure any media interviewer would notice quickly and ask him about it.

IraHeatBeat Ira WindermanTo clarify: LeBron did not initially bring up his cold, and when asked initially he said he was fine. His voice, however, said otherwise.

Celtics should've never let Thibodeau get away IMO.
after watching him for this season, I dont understand how this guy did not get a shot earlier. this is a good fit for him, his style can wear down a team and have players rebel against his tough style. But as long as the main star buys into it the rest of the players fall in line. and Rose is a nice compliment as he is always working on something.

Did you expect them to pay him more than 6.5 million to stay as assistant? Because if the money was the same, or even slightly more, I am sure he would want the head coaching gig over the assistant coach gig.

Right. Can Rivers, promote Thibodeau. And you probably save some money in the process. Seems easy enough.
You wanted them to can the coach that led them to a title in 08, a short handed easter conference finals loss in 09, and a loss in game 7 to the Lakers in 10? :loco:

the Lakers got bounced from the playoffs, what...10 days ago? yet they are still part of the thread title. I'd say the legacy is alive and intact!

nice performance by Diggler but some of those foul call where crazy. If the Bulls / Heat game was called this way , LeBron would be shooting 30+ FTs a game.how can you defend any player like Dirk if you can't even breath on the guy.?By the 2nd half Scott Brooks should have been telling his players to make sure you foul him hard , make him earn the FT's . All those touch fouls and hand checks in the bonus were horrible....Ibaka, Collison, Harden, Perkins....etc need to bruise him up.
You realize more fouls were called on the Mavs than the Thunder right? Durant was on pace to set the made FT record at one point as well.
Awful officiated game all over but I keep hearing this argument. The difference is both Durant and Westbrook were attacking the rim and getting bounced around inside to EARN their foul shots. Someone breathed on Dirk too much from the perimeter and he got the foul call, It was absolutely ridiculous.
This, guess I wasn't clear enough.

Honestly, I think it's too close to call between Irving and Williams. If Irving's foot doesn't check out, I would go with Williams without hesitation if I'm Cleveland.
No worries about Williams being a tweener or the fact that he's only recently become an elite prospect?
I think he'll end up playing mostly the 3 in the pros, maybe a bit of 4 if his team decides to go small. But his athleticism is so good that I think he's basically just a really big SF. And I think he'd be a good rebounding SF, but a below-average PF rebounder, if that makes sense.
I agree with most of that...he's just a really, really good small forward and a servicable 4. Those calling him a tweener haven't seen enough of him. There are only a handful of 3s in the NBA right now that I would take over him.

Absolutely. Thibodeau's defensive game-planning has had a lot more to do with that run of success than whatever Rivers does.

And Miami takes the lead despite the terrible commentary suggesting the Heat have already lost the game.

Pull your head out announcers...tia.

Miami hung tough in the first half, I just don't see where their offense comes outside of James/Wade. Only troubling thing for the Bulls is the amount of steals and ORB and they are down two points.

I was just looking at the remaining schedule. I don't remember there being so much dead time between games. In the EC finals there were two days off between games 1 and 2. Now there will be 3 days off before game 3. Is this normal?
