*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (6 Viewers)

Just throwing stuff against the wall here...The Clippers look really good. They have a great starting lineup but not a lot of depth up front. Who are the guys that might be available for them to add to give them some more depth up front? What is the feasibility of a DeAndre Jordan / Eric Bledsoe / something else deal for Dwight?
I think if they still had Minny's unprotected first rounder, they could probably get something together for Dwight. But Jordan and Bledsoe wouldn't come close.

I don't know if they'll play any defense, but the Wizards could be fun to watch this season, with Wall and the new unis. I'm excited to be in their market.
Nets look horrific. Without Lopez, they are in trouble.
The first 10 min. or so of that game was some of the worst basketball I've ever seen. I was wondering if the Nets would be able to win 10 games this year.I'm not sure what's happened since. Deron caught fire and that Humphries kid plays hard. Most obvious answer, I guess, is they are playing the Wizards. This game's surprisingly quite entertaining.
I almost changed the channel, and then the Nets went on that run. I live in Nets territory, so I usually watch most of their games. Humphries is easy to root for, he plays really hard, always hustles. They need to get Okur going, I figured being former teammates with Deron Williams in UTah would help. Maybe he just has to shake off some rust, they are giving him good minutes right away.
Tough to take much from one game against WAS, but that was a great win. There are some truly dreadful teams in the East, so having a star, playing hard, and having a couple of nice shooters might steal a decent number of wins this season.Getting Deshawn Stevenson could really help too. I hate to say it, but Petro didn't look too bad knocking down jumpers from the top of the key. Then again, WAS looked terribly sloppy and damn near came back to win.

Warriors beat the Bulls and are 1-1.

The offense was scorching hot for this game compared to last night versus the Clips, but the defense was there again. No way you'll confuse the Warriors with the Bulls or Celtics on the defensive end, but if they can merely be an average defensive team with Monta, Ellis, and Lee logging significant minutes their offense with a healthy Curry (his right ankle is becoming a serious issue) is good enough to get them to playoffs.

Loving the Brandon Rush acquisition so far in 2 games he's shown to be a very good defender, rebounder, and has toughness the Warrior perimeter players are severely lacking. The Biedrins/Kwame has been competent enough to not making the C spot a huge disadvantage and the Warriors have held up at home against two of the toughest front courts something that could not be said in years past.

We'll see once this team gets on the road, but very happy with this game after the brutal 4th quarter last night.

New season, same old Clavin. Posts for the sole sake of instigating more than LHUCKS, yet never receives the repercussions.

If I was Kobe I would be shooting every time down the floor. The rest of that team is gross.
That team is awful 3 through 12 (4-12 when Bynum gets back). I mean, they played Troy Murphy, Luke Walton, and Derek Fisher for 60 minutes last night. Unless Bynum stays healthy and achieves his full potential this year, I can't see them being anywhere close to a legit title contender.

Derek Fisher should not be allowed to be shooting threes.
He shouldn't be allowed to touch a basketball at this point. Great game between these two.
Him still being in the league is shocking .....him still getting playing time is a disservice to Laker fans.....aside from being union president I cant understand him still having a job.
Have you seen who the backup PG for the Lakers is? Steve Blake is the reason Derek Fisher still has a job.

The Bulls have been blah for two games now. The defensive rotation is horrible, the pick and roll game destroyed them again, and there is lot to be desired on the offensive end. It was comical to see Rip try to feed Boozer in the post. All that said, the Warriors played enough defensively to make it tough for any opponent if Ellis and Curry are on.

karl: please cage the Bird and free the Manimal
:goodposting: That was a good start tonight. Karl has waaayyy too many pieces on this team and finding the ones that fit every night would kill a lesser coach.
It's going to be interesting to see how a team built around having depth, will do against the new wave of 3 stars and a bunch of roster fillers.
In the regular season its going to work out great with all the back to backs because the Nuggs will always be fresh.I didn't get to watch the game last night (at my in-laws in Houston and NBA League Pass apparently isn't running their promo here) but I heard that KMart was sitting on the bench for a bit. I'd love to see him back, his contract gave him a reputation for a mediocre player, but IMO he was still the best man up PF defender in the league last year and he brings an attitude to the games that I love. If he's back playing 25 or 30 minutes a game in March that means less time for Koufos/Bird/Mozgov which would be great in itself.

K-Mart was in town to ask all the ex Knicks how it is to play in MSG.

Martin had some seats there courtside last night (apparently it is his home town) and he came down and spent some time with the team. I can see him signing with New York however.

Nets could be the worst team in the league.
Why in the hell does Dwight want to go there? Completely baffling to me.
What was so confusing was how heavy the rumors were that it would happen. Nets really have very little to offer.
Brooklyn and Jay Z and a brand new arena in NYC with lavish player amenities
I can see that. The Orlando arena is like 400 days old after all. Can't argue with the Brooklyn thing if that's where he wants to play. But I can't imagine being on a team where Jigga is a 1% owner is that big of a deal.

Deron + Howard will have FAs flocking to the Nets since they actually have a young player for a trade chip and cap space unlike the Magic.Once you have two studs on your roster the rest of the lineup will fall into place (see NYK). Now I don't know what the Nets exactly have to offer for Howard other than Lopez, but looking at it from Howard's perspective the future with the Nets looks better than the future with the Magic.

I think it's an element. I also think there's an ego thing there. He wants to be a NY star who takes the Nets back to greatness/wins a title.

The Nets literally have nothing right now other than Deron and Lopez. Assuming DH gets traded there, there goes that trade chip. All I'm saying is there's nothing there right now. All of his talk about wanting to go to a winner is just bull####. That team is awful.

Who wouldn't want to tell their grandkids that they played with Johan Petro?

Like I said the plan is to get Deron and Howard on the same team. Once those two are on board the Nets can make over the rest of the roster with whatever FA sign there. The hardest part is finding two studs to build around. Look at the NKY. They acquired Melo and Amare and Chandler and BD were itching to play there. What player would not want the chance to play with Deron and Howard?

I get that, but how we're the Nets going to complete a trade with so few assets?I want the Nets to trade for me also, it doesn't mean it will happen.
