*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (7 Viewers)

I never thought Hibbert would be this effective in the NBA after watching him at Georgetown. He used to disappear for ten minutes at a time. Maybe it was JT3's system... who knows.

I know the NBA would be devastated, but I think an IND-SAS Finals would be awesome.
Define "awesome"... Indiana takes one game?
Sounds about right. In 2012, taking the Spurs to 5 games constitutes a barn-burner.I'd just be excited for the Pacers to have gotten there. They've had major help from injuries, but the Pacers offer a little hope for other franchises that aren't FA destinations (like my Bobcats).

it's baseball season. :bag:
Call me crazy, but I'm not giving up. After game 1 it's been a very close series. We just need to take this one game at a time. Unlikely? Sure. Possible? Yes. The Lakers just need to keep playing hard.
Keep?
Keep in mind that this is coming from the same, self declared, Israeli-Palestinian expert, who had no recollection of the Oslo Accords.
WTF? 1. You're wrong about that.

2. What does this have to do with the NBA????

I can't wait to hear about how "gritty" the Heat are when the refs hand them a title.
What a comeback. Battled through all the injuries. Redeemed last years loss. One of the best the NBA has ever seen. Never a doubt. Better than Magic's Lakers of the 80's.Sheer upper body strength and acrobatic ability.

Part of the problem is that Indy's players are just stupid. They keep going for blocks instead of taking charges like Miami. If Barbosa just set his feet instead of fighting James, the refs would have had to call a charge on Lebron as Lebron just bull rushed right through him. Instead, Barbosa fights it and gets called for the foul. Dumb basketball. And no way would Hansboro have been called for either of those traveling calls if his name was Lebron James.

:lmao: at those that thought the heat were going to roll over to Danny granger and his band of merry role players.
It's not a tenth as funny as any of your dumb trade proposals.
Sure it is. As a rockets fan I can place an overstated value on Kevin Martin and make other people laugh. Fair enough. But seriously, Lebron James is getting bounced in the second round by David west and Darren collision?

I don't think Miami is going to cruise through this. I think it goes 7.

I would love for the heat to lose. I'd love for it to be embarrassing for them and I'd be fine with an offseason of stories about what's wrong with them.

But as good as the pacers are, let's have some perspective.

:pickle:

Unreal performance by Bron (and Wade). Season on the line and he came up huge. Hope he can come close to repeating the next 3 games because he'll have to w/o Bosh.

Absolutely insane performance by LeBron. But unless if their supporting guys give them better performances, closing this series out will not be easy.

When the Heat have Battier and Anthony/Turiaf on the floor, they are essentially playing 3 on 5. And Battier is even playing poorly on defense.

Shocking...

Rotoworld.com

Kobe Bryant was quick to upbraid Pau Gasol for an errant pass late in Game 4, which Kevin Durant stole and converted into a 3-pointer to give the Thunder the lead.

"It was a bad read," Kobe said. "Pau has got to be more assertive ... He's looking to swing the ball too much. He just has to shoot it." Gasol owned up to his error, admitting that he should have shot the ball, but he doesn't deserve to be thrown under the bus. Kobe's mistakes handed Game 2 to the Thunder in OKC, and he was just 2-of-10 in the fourth quarter on Saturday, launching more than a few bad shots from the perimeter.
Kobe's turning more and more delusional as he ages. Sad to see.
Classless prima donna. Talented? Yes. Great? Not even close - the great ones make those around them better. Kobe is a selfish, team cancer.
He has five rings...buddy.
I got carried away...but I absolutely detest people that throw teammates under the bus. That is something thta needs to be done behind closed doors not in the media. Maybe he did do it behind closed doors and it just leaked to the media - but the way it looks now it sure seems like he used the forum of the media.

You are right this does not have anything to do with the NBA. Why don't you start a new thread asking Short Corner what he meant. HTH

It's not over yet. And the Heat are missing their 2nd most important player.

Grantland had an article on this guy a week or so agoit was all Hibbert. he was one of those "i'm tall so i play basketball because other people told me i should" guys.

I'll bet $100 to anyone that the spurs lose 4 or fewer games the rest of the way.
Is 4 a push? If so, PM me, I'm very interested.
Why would 4 be a push?
Strange thing about this is that if the Spurs complete the sweep, but then lose in the WCF, that's only 4 losses.
Thats why I said earlier Id be interested if 4 is a push. Kind of dumb that the Spurs can lose next round and he wins the bet.

I admit I hadn't considered that angle.

Interesting question: what's the fewest number of games lost in the playoffs by a non champion (first round losers excluded)? What's the highest winning percentage in the playoffs of a non champion?

I'm not a regular here, but this thread seems to be :tumbleweed: when the Lakers are doing well.
On a similar note, LBJ has a beast of a game in a big game today and hardly anyone has said a word about him.

LeBron is at his best when he's aggressive early and looks to score first. Today was one of those days and when he's in kill mode, he's the best player to ever lace'm up.

I let it slide once....Hansbrough
