*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

Sessions got the flu or something? He's been non existent.
He's not that good.
Yea, whats the deal on him? I haven't been able to watch much this season, but the little I have seen of him since the trade he shows flashes of absolute brilliant and superb court/management then I never see him again. I'm guessing he's a liability on D or what?
A poor defender and a mediocre shooter, not exactly what the Lakers need. He would fit a lot better in their second unit with Kobe off the floor where he can run pick and roll with one of the bigs.

Can the lakers take trade offers for gasol before the game ends? The tension between he and shooterama Bryant is visible.

Its just about time for Artest or Bynum to undercut somebody as they are going up for a dunk/layup. Maybe they'll sub in Barnes for that... where has he been all game?

I wonder if they can figure out something like Gasol for Anderson, Nelson and Reddick. The Lakers might be better off with a stretch 4 and some more help around the rest of the team. I still think that Nash-Gortat-Hill for Bynum trade that I suggested in like January would have made them the favorite for the championship.

Three possibilities:

1. This Laker team is never going to win another championship. Time to blow it up. Make a big move- go out and get Howard or another elite guy to play alongside Kobe.

2. This was just a bad matchup for the Lakers. They need to get a new point guard, Sessions is not the answer.

3. This was just a bad matchup for the Lakers. With another year under his belt, Sessions will be a much better player and this team will be back in the championship hunt.

Which is it?

Can we just re-seed the conference finals so the Thunder and the Spurs are playing in the actual NBA finals, instead of the ostensible one?
If the Heat can get healthy (not likely, but possible) and make it too the finals (I still think they are the favorites from the east) I think they will beat the Thunder or Spurs.

They would have got hammered worse by the Spurs. They're probably the 4th-best team in the league this year, but it's a pretty massive gap after SA/OKC.

I think everybody knew that Sessions wasn't the answer, he was just a massive upgrade from Blake and Fisher. Sessions is style of play is a pretty bad fit for the Lakers, I'm actually surprised it worked out as well as it did. Toney Douglas would be a good flier for the Lakers and I'm sure he would come cheap from the Knicks. He plays defense and can shoot, this year notwithstanding. I bet he bounces back next year for a different team as a solid 3rd guard.

In the regular season the Thunder, Spurs, Heat and Bulls were all far better teams. Injuries killed the Bulls and are in the process of doing the same for the Heat but they were very good teams most of the year.

They need somebody who can pass the ball. I wonder if there's any way to get a couple years of Steve Nash without tearing up the team. They also need a much better bench so that Kobe can get more rest during the season the way Tim Duncan does.

Blame Pau commences in about ten minutes. When in doubt, blame Pau.
Pau has played fine tonight. But he has not played fine all series. Tonight's loss has much more to do with the greatness of the Thunder than any problems with the Lakers. The Thunder have been great on offense and defense. They beat any team in the NBA the way they played tonight and in game 1.

Sessions is usually a pretty sure passer and I don't think that's a big need for them anyway. The only passes a Lakers PG needs to make are an entry pass and a pass to Kobe at the 3-point line.
