*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

So apparently LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and Paul started talking about playing together during the Olympics. I wonder why nobody said, "hey, I'm going to the Lakers to play with Kobe"
:goodposting:
Kobe only needs one other stud to win Rings...not two!On a serious note....my buddy is good friends with one of Brons financial advisor in Chicago. The guy runs a $20 million stock porfolio for Bron....and he said he hasnt heard anything for sure but his lean was for Bron to stay in Cleveland.

I'm not buying this Miami gig. I still say he's going to NY. Around 50-60 kids are going to be in the audience and it's been reported that most are Knicks fans and they have made a banner begging Lebron to pick NY. Media as been fed bogus info for the last couple weeks and Miami is part of it.

Thers is going to be an audience?

Lebron is the biggest troll of 2010.

Nobody would expect you to think differently!

Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but that is the way I see it playing out.

Have fun watching this garbage tonight you sickos!
No dice, have to commute home. If I play my cards right I figure I can drive by right as the Clippers unveil their giant "welcome to Los Angeles LeBron!!!" Banner from the roof of Staples.

:lmao:  My sources have told me that the Heat have a ZERO percent chance of landing LeBron and my sources (me) have also adjusted the close percentages....Cle 55%Chi 25%NY 20% :porked:

Assuming LeBron doesn't go to the Clips, sure seems like there's been a talent drain on the western conference here. OKC clearly the 2nd best team in the west now? Dallas? Denver?
I realize no one other then goggins will agree, but houston was.500 last season without their best player. If two returns and patterson is as pro ready as he should be, they wil be very good.
They're an interesting team for sure. I guess the Bobcats are trying to sign Scola, but the Rockets owner has "vowed" to keep Scola in town. They need a consistent perimeter performer (along with a full season from Yao).
Think about this, no All-Star played for the Rockets last year and OK/Port/SA won only 8 more games. This is also a team that had a major shake up in their roster which led to their brief losing streak. IF (HUGE IF here) Yao can play limited minutes and the players gell another year while they won't be favored in the West they should at least be a playoff team where anything can happen. They have multiple picks which they can parley next year or use. We'll see.
Yao makes Bynum look like Cal Ripken. Have fun with that.

LeBron is 25. I just don't see a 25-year old leaving $30M on the table. And I don't buy the "he can make it up in endorsements" angle. The big-time endorsements (Nike, Gatorade, McDonald's, etc.) are already there and they are not going to change based on him playing in New York. I'd actually prefer him to leave as I think the NBA needs a shakeup and Cleveland is probably farther from winning a title next year than they were this year. I'll be very surprised to see him leave Cleveland. That said, who the hell really knows?
Still think this.

The west has certainly gotten weaker but I do not see a clear 2nd best team. I would argue that Portland is the 2nd best team and most likely challenge to LA. Portland had all the injuries last year and still finished with 50+ wins. Oklahoma City had ZERO injuries last year to their starters and finished below Portland. Durant is good but people are getting way too caught up in OKC and forgetting about Portland. Portland has the pieces to trade for a guy like Chris Paul which almost happened before the draft.

Took Lakers to 7 games w/o Yao playing in every game two years ago and was over .500 this year despite not having Yao and their lineup shakeup with the Martin trade. :) :lmao:

Sorry Bulls fans.

CHICAGO -- Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf is taking a realistic approach to LeBron James' announcement Thursday night.

As James prepared to reveal on ESPN which team he's going to, Reinsdorf did not get his hopes up.

"We're not banking on getting him," Reinsdorf told ESPNChicago.com's Melissa Isaacson. "He certainly has not given us any indication that he's coming here, so we have to assume he's going somewhere else.

"I have to think the team he's going to must know."

Indications Thursday morning suggested James would join Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in Miami.

And while Reinsdorf wanted to sign James, he's not conceding any ground in the Eastern Conference.

"Miami will have three great players, but no center, no point guard and no cap room," Reinsdorf said. "I think we'll be better if he comes to us, but I think we'll be a great team without him."

And that was the message Reinsdorf, vice president John Paxson, general manager Gar Forman and coach Tom Thibodeau conveyed to James during their meeting Saturday.

"I opened the meeting saying, 'If it's in the best interest of your family, and for loyalty reasons, you want to stay in Cleveland, you should stay in Cleveland. I am not here to tell you to leave Cleveland, but to let you know that if you decide to leave Cleveland, we're the best place for you to go,'" Reinsdorf said. "I wouldn't even try to talk him into leaving Cleveland, but I would tell him that we're better than New York, New Jersey and Miami.

"If he comes here, we have a great team. If he goes to New York or Miami, we're going to be better than New York or Miami."

And Reinsdorf shot down the notion that a perceived lack of loyalty to former Bulls stars such as Michael Jordan impacted James or other free agents.

"LeBron told us he talked to Michael, and Michael said very positive things about the Bulls and about me," Reinsdorf said. "It's nice to hear, but I've seen Michael many times since he stopped playing, and we have a very cordial relationship. So I wasn't shocked, but I was gratified."

Bobcat you said you were as confident as you have ever been that LBJ was coming back to Cleveland on Tuesday. Has that feeling changed or are you still confident? How is everyone in Cleveland acting? nervous? excited?
Can't be as confident after the past two day. 50/50...they set this up well no matter the outcome. :) My contingents are basically ready for him to leave. We've been down this road plenty of times.

It's the Knicks. I swear, I feel it.

No, wait, it's the Heat. Why else would he rent cabanas and have Jay-Z buying courtside seats?

Hang on, Reinsdorf's denying it - it's the Bulls! Subterfuge!!

all that leads me to he's ataying with the Cavs.

Yes, the Cavs.

Or the Bulls.

Maybe the Heat.

Knicks!

NEW JERSEY!

CLIPPERS!

ROCKETS!!!

CAVS!!!!

JAY Z! PUFF DADDY!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

ESPN just reported that last night, in desperation, the Knicks actually sent ISAIAH THOMAS to meet with LeBron's "people". That's a convincing ambassador for the New York team, no?
