This makes me sick. Biedrins is never going to get confused for Yao, but he's a lot better than his injury-riddled year last year. Hope this isn't true.Rumor has Denver trading K-Mart to Golden State for Dan Gadzuric and Andris Biedrins.I can't say I would miss K-Mart, but man, would Nene have to stay healthy.

Why are my Warriors so low on Biedrins? He's a scrub offensively, but he can run and play help defense, and is still young...They would basically be giving him away for cap space. I haven't seen a lot of Udoh but he seems a bit redundant with the more talented Anthony Randolph. Neither or Udoh or Monroe seem like difference makers. #6 isn't the spot to be in this year's draft.I think it'll be an unexciting draft night for the Warriors, which is par for the course until the ownership situation is resolved. At least their uniforms will be better this year, even though I'm not a fan of the serifed logo font.i actually like udoh for the Warriors. he gives them some toughness and perhaps a willingness to do the dirty work on the interior. they don't need scoring per se but they do need some balance. monroe is talented but he's a weird fit for that team. udoh's athleticism is a big plus. he may be unpolished and a bit of one year wonder but nellie could do things with him.I don't really have a strong lean betw. Monroe and Udoh. Obviously GS needs interior defense badly, but Udoh's got some big ?'s. Cousins somehow falling would be ideal, because #### it, the franchise is a mess anyway. Might as well swing for the fences with him not completely losing his mind.
Maybe if Udoh was 20 but being 23 really hurts his potential and I don't think he offers anything different from Randolph who can rebound and block shots with the best of them. AR may not be as refined as Udoh or as big right now but again Udoh has 3 years on him. Monroe seems to be the consensus better player, is younger, and has things you can't teach: basketball IQ, passing ability, and size. I think he a better fit on the Warriors at least offensively because he adds another passer into the lineup (the Dubs only really have Curry) which will allow Curry time off the ball to drill 3 pointers and feed Monta backdoor cuts, etc. Drafting Udoh seems like drafting for need rather then BPA. Then again the RIley did well drafting Curry so we shall see.i actually like udoh for the Warriors. he gives them some toughness and perhaps a willingness to do the dirty work on the interior. they don't need scoring per se but they do need some balance. monroe is talented but he's a weird fit for that team. udoh's athleticism is a big plus. he may be unpolished and a bit of one year wonder but nellie could do things with him.I don't really have a strong lean betw. According to a source, the Knicks are making plans to host an elaborate meal and meeting with James in a high-end location in Manhattan during the afternoon and evening of July 1, which is next Thursday. The tentative plan is for Knicks management and officials to host James and his various agents and friends for a large dinner party catered by a celebrity chef.
The Knicks are currently scouring the city for an available high-rise condo or apartment with a great view to rent for the event, the source said.

LOL. I don't think there's anything to this. I guess they think the addtional pick is worth the contract. It's not like the Wizards were going to be big free agent players. Hinrich contact is really only bad this year since it could later be traded as an expiring. Evans probably needs another combo guard in the back court with him that can handle the ball. Hinrich would be a big defensive upgrade on Udrih and probably a more willing passer. The contract is terrible, but I guess that could be justified on the ground that the Kings weren't going to pick up any top flight FAs anyway.I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would want Hinrich, and the two years left on his contract (at about 9MM per).Damn. probably because the Heat haven't and will not offer it.Anybdoy want to tell me why the Wolves haven't jumped all over this:Ideally, the Heat would want to trade Beasley for a player with only a partially guaranteed contract for the 2010-11 season, and there are two players with contracts of that variety who are especially appealing -- Keyon Dooling of the New Jersey Nets and Ryan Gomes of Minnesota. Only $500,000 of Dooling's 2010-11 salary of $3.83 million is guaranteed if he is waived before July 1, but the source said New Jersey has shown no interest in acquiring Beasley. With Gomes, only $1 million of his $4.235 million is guaranteed -- meaning a team that acquired him could increase its cap space by more than $3.2 million by waiving him by June 30.So, if Riley was able to trade Beasley for Gomes, he would have a pool of roughly $47 million to spend on free agents, including Wade.

I'm not sure the 1.10 is anywhere NEAR enough to get Westbrook. He developed in to one of the better young PGs in the NBA last season and fits very well next to KG. He's obviously not (yet) at Rondo, CP3, Williams, Rose level, but he's not far behind. I also don't understand why the TWolves would be remotely interested in the 1.10 for Flynn. He was reasonably good for a rookie last season and the players likely to be available around 1.10 are project/upside types, and lots of them are big men. Making that trade makes no sense for Minny.Ferris Bueller Fan said:IND wants a PG for 1.10. That's too little to get Westbrook, and too much to get Maynor. Excuse me, sir, the Lakers are perfect. You may want to re-check your facts. Why don't teams just go over the caps like the Lakers do, and the Knicks () used to?
Money is more important than winning to most of the NBA owners. Buss turns a profit anyway, but I don't know if the other teams that go over the cap do. I know the C's had the 2nd highest payroll in the league - did they turn a profit? I figure they did, but I don't know.Other guys like Cuban go over and get left holding the bag - but that's chump change to him. Most other owners can't handle the financial burden of putting a top quality team out there. I have no idea what the Knicks' problem is - just horrible decision making there for a while. Why don't teams just go over the caps like the Lakers do, and the Knicks () used to?
I disagree. Not everyone can get Lebron. And for the Bulls, Heat, Nets, and Knicks, having gone through the trouble of clearing cap space and NOT getting LBJ means they can either admit "defeat" and field a crummy team with the faint hope that Durant or Melo will come next year OR they can fill their roster with the best talent available, talent that they can afford.I wouldn't be the least bit shocked to see Joe Johnson and Boozer both end up with max deals from the teams that lose out on Wade/LBJ and Amare/Bosh. For example, if the Knicks get none of the big name guys, they'll resign Lee at near the max and have a choice to either field almost the exact same team they had last season (a team that was awful) or add a piece like Joe Johnson, which would be a big upgrade for them. Same goes for the Bulls. Let's say they miss out on Wade/LBJ/Amare/Bosh and have money for two big names. You don't think they'd sign Boozer and Joe J to max deals? A lineup of Rose, Noah, Deng, Johnson, and Boozer wouldn't be formidable in a conference where the best team (Boston) is another year older? No but a guy like Joe Johnson won't likely command the max.I guess it doesn't clear enough cap space: @johnhollinger Which is why James Johnson might be next. I do not want Wes Johnson. We need to pick players that have high ceiling superstar potential, even if their floor is lower. Johnson doesn't say possible superstar to me. our only potential all-star+ type player now is Rubio, and he's not even on the roster. If they do get that pick, take my favorite guy FAROUQ.c) After that, with #16 hopefully still in the wallet, do what it takes to get Cole Aldrich, even if it means overpaying a bit and trading up.Absolutely no way we can roll out RYAN GOMES and RYAN HOLLINS as starting NBA players, much less both of them! That is frankly embarrassing as a Wolves fan.The Dubs are a sure thing?I don't think the Wolves can blow it this year. Taking Cousins over Favors would be considered a risk that could haunt them if Cousins is out of the league in 4 years, but I think it's defensible. Although I'd take Favors 2nd overall if I was the 6ers.I'm not looking for a sure thing. It will be sweet if my Wolves ever pull themselves out of the gutter.Quality picks like Flynn should help, right?Brit, if you're not going to go with OK City, I'd go with the Dubs. You're close and will prolly be in SF several time over the next decade. They're west coast. And they've got some young pieces that will be fun to watch develop.Minny is just a ####### wasteland. You'll never, ever, ever never be able to see them in person, and they're never on TV. Unless you're from Minny, I don't know why anyone would sign with the Wolves as a FA fan.
Can you go over the cap signing another team's FA? Honest question. Why don't teams just go over the caps like the Lakers do, and the Knicks () used to?
They sign him to a max deal. You can go over the cap to sign your own guys. It is called "Bird rights"The Bulls might be able to afford two max contracts now, but how are they going to be able to also afford Rose a few years down the road?
