Terrible game coach, but i dont know anyone else who could have gotten the defensive effort from Jesus & others that he has in the last few yrs. Time will also tell us what an accomplishment it was to get a player as selfish & pigheaded as Rondo to coordinate with other stars without everyone killing each other. It'll be interesting to see how bad it gets without a clipboard genius like Thibodeau around. Nonetheless, youve seen the last finals from my Celts in a while.

I'd love to see LeBron go to Miami. It would be tough for my Lakers, as I think that would be the team Los Angeles would meet in the Finals, and they would certainly be formidable with that trio, if not favorites.
But I really like the idea of the "superteam". It's always exciting. Usually superteams feature 1 or two players past their prime, like the Celtics from 2 years ago, or the Lakers when they added Karl Malone and Gary Payton. This would be the first superteam I can think of in which each star is in his prime or approaching his prime. It would be great for the NBA- IF it happens.

Amare averages more minutes per game 34.3 vs 32.7 for Boozer yet he averages less rebounds. Also, while Utah plays an up tempo game contrary to popular belief they still are below the Suns in pace.... so Amare's rebounding numbers are inflated a bit compared to Boozers... yet again he averages less rebounds per game. If you want to see the difference between Boozer and Amare rebounding wise in statistics on an equal surface take a look at % or Rebound Rates.Basketball-Reference.com (B-R) Total Rebound % career:

So when you compare apples to apples instead of apples to oranges Boozer is far and away a superior rebounder and ranks amongst the league's elite rebounders.
Offense sure I can buy that but how do you explain the significant difference in DRB%? Maybe Phoenix's defense is poor because Amare doesn't rebound the ball well enough? Boozer is not an all-world defender either but he is a fantastic rebounder because he actually boxes people out and makes an effort to rebound. Amare has the physical tools but he'd rather leak out on the fast break then box out his player. Boozer

So as you can see their ORB is actually pretty similar, but the DRB is a huge gap. The difference in DRB% can't be explained by their roles on the team like ORB because both Amare and Boozer guard PFs and C. Also neither man has played next to a dominant rebounding C for an extended period of time... so each team was relying on Amare and Boozer to shoulder the rebounding load on defense. It's just Amare doesn't concentrate on defensive rebounding as much as Boozer... if he did then he'd be worth the extra 20 million in salary as an elite scorer and elite rebounder.

As a Warrior fan I am hoping they don't trade Randolph and Turiaf/Azubuike for Lee.
I think Lee would be a great addition but I would be happier if we traded Ellis instead of Randolph and a cheap rotation player.
I would be okay to part with Randolph for Lee straight up, because I'm not sure Randolph will ever realize his potential, but asking for Ronny or Azubuike is just too much IMO.
Looking at the rumored deal it includes Vlad Rad's deal...

Turiaf has P/O for 4 million next year and Buike and Radmonovic are in the last year of their deals so not only are trading away productive, cheap player but trading away potential expiring deals.

Come trading deadline the Warriors could do more damage with 17.3 million in expiring deals instead of 7 or 10.5 with a new owner. Plus you get to evaluate Randolph, Wright, the Curry/Ellis dynamic, and hopefully a health Warrior squad for half a season before you decided where to commit 15-17 million dollars. So hopefully the Warriors pull back on this deal b/c it may be good in the short term, but I'm not sure it will make a significant enough impact to lock up our team for the next 4 years.

On point made however was Byron Scott being hired as coach. One has to feel Lebron had some input on that. Especially after Brian Shaw seemed liked a show in for the job, but backed out. Maybe Lebron preferred Scott? Cavs fans, your thoughts?

I find it kind of odd that a team that want's to keep it's franchise player not let him have any input on the coaching situation. But then again, this whole Lebron thing is a circus anyway. I feel bad for CLE. After Kobe demanded a trade, I was ready to let him go. I didn't blame him either. The team had some mediocre talent around him. I'd like to see Lebron stay in CLE, and be patient enough to for a team to develop around him. It's not like his clock is running out.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of it either. The worst part is that there's no doubt that that snake Pat Riley will now be taking over the coaching role.If this happens (and I'm still very skeptical that it will), I wonder how much money will be left for role players. As good as that core would be, the right role players would still be necessary, specifically, a good long-range shooter and a banger.
I wonder how necessary they would be. An interior defender would be nice, and Wade is no shooter, but there is a lot of potantial to just crush opponents.

Oh, I'm not saying they wouldn't be very good. Just that they'd still need to put the right pieces around them to rip off the 6 or so titles that Lebron will now be expected to get. Obviously, this will now be the place all role-player FAs will want to go, so I'm sure they can find the pieces.Also, I'm sure this core would improve the long-range shooting of Lebron and Wade. I don't know how teams will be able to defend the 3 point line when they'll pretty much have to put the entire team around the paint with Lebron and Wade driving to the basket over and over and over and over and over and over. Gonna be alot of wide open 3's that Wade and Lebron have never really been accustomed to seeing.

I think there are dozens of NBA also-rans who could play with those three guys and win a bunch of titles. I'd say that LeBron/Wade/Bosh is at least as good as Jordan/Pippen/Rodman. I'm sure the Heat would have no problems finding the 2010 versions of Steve Kerr and Luc Longley.

It's going to be great for the economy down here but I would have liked to see what Miami could do with just Wade, Bosh, then use the rest of the money to build the team around them. James has shown how truly immature he is with a 1 hour press conference to give the finger to Cleveland. This is undoubtedly going to be a remarkable team but I think it still is up in the air that they could steamroll a team like Los Angeles in the playoffs.
Miami will gain a ton of fans but also will become a pretty hated team around the NBA as folks will want to root against them. The rpessure now will be for Miami to win 3 titles over the next 5 years let's say. Also the city of Miami will still have a lot of people that would rather see the Miami Dolphins win a Super Bowl even once in the next 5 years over the run the Heat could potentially have. This is not a Basketball town by trait and perhaps that is one of the main reasons they are coming here, when they are home they are going to be left alone by the media. I agree. I don't understand why he wouldn't have just gone to the Bulls (or maybe even the Nets) with Bosh. He's never going to be able to seperate himself from Wade no matter what anyone says now. If he goes to the Heat, it also proves Lebron never really did have his mind set until very very recently...yes he made his decision, but he ended up getting owned in the process. He'll rightfully get the Model treatment after the way this was handled and for what happened at the end of the season...and he'll play the Akron, OH card.

People think James has been the director of this offseason side show. They are wrong. Bosh was the lynch pin for this entire offseason. Bosh wanted to go to Miami. Wade wanted to play with Bosh. Wade and Bosh to Miami. Teams overly courted the wrong guys imo.

You don't think he would have had a problem with separating himself from/living under the constant shadow of a superstar in Chicago? It would have taken him a minimum of seven years to be considered the franchise's greatest player ever. In Miami it'll take him maybe two or three.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's making a brilliant move. I just don't see how you claim that Miami doesn't make sense because it damages his legacy/standing somehow to be on the same team as a guy he's clearly superior to in Dwyane Wade, but then suggest that he should instead have been the guy who led the best "Post-Jordan" Bulls teams.

I don't love the move for the rest of the NBA, but it certainly makes plenty of sense for all parties. They'll make less in salary, but winning rings will provide other financial opportunities. Nike was prepared to give Lebron all kinds of money to got to CHI because the rings would help apparel sales in China. I don't know why they wouldn't offer at least as much for a MIA scenario. Hell, the lack of a state income tax alone could make pretty big dent in the salary difference. For LeBron, the state tax savings, on a conservative $50 mill in earnings, would be $3 mill. I'm not sure what about this doesn't make sense.

Kobe has kept himself separate from Gasol even with lower win share and per numbers. And Gasol with nothing on his team was as successful in the West as Wade has been with nothing on his team in the East. What people care about are PPG and LeBron is a better scorer than Wade so he'll remain the alpha dog. Sure he doesn't jack up 30 shots/game like Kobe but he scores as well since he's a lot more efficient.This is assuming he goes to Miami which I still don't think is going to happen.
