Your lack of reading comprehension skills is astounding. What's funny is that you think Bark/Hakeem/Pippen/Drex played at the same time for the Rockets. Are you a Spurs/Mavs fan?Three of the 10 most popular stories on the Sun's front page are about Bosh and the Raptors...![]()
He's definitely licensed for Lebron/Heat...that is lumped thru the NBA/NBAPA for all teams and players.Since he sells direct to consumer, he could also jack the price up like that. I don't think he'll make that business decision though. This stand he's making with the Cavs Lebron fathead is meaningless financially...he's not losing anything doing it.I wonder what kind of limits his licensing puts on thiscould he come out with a new LeBron Heat fathead, and then charge like $350 for it, just to screw miami fans?Gilbert is clearly trying to max his 15 seconds...which is a good idea. He'll be making money soon enough off Heat Lebron fatheads.LeBron Fatheads for $17.41, year Benedict Arnold was born http://tinyurl.com/29cgxyk (via @Jbro318) Cavs owner owns Fathead

Word last night was they were signing Ryan Gomes to play some 3 and also will be signing Randy Foye too.So are the Clips going to sign a 3? Seems like they should be talking to R. Jefferson or something.

Three scenarios I've put together by looking at salaries on hoopshype:#1Jefferson ($13M) to Oklahoma City for Nick Collison ($6.7M), Morris Peterson ($6.6M) and a future 1st round pick.Oklahoma City gets someone down low with offensive talent for Durant. Wolves get two expiring contracts and the pick. The deal would also work with Krstic's expriing $5.8M. Neither Collison nor Krstic probably get much run on the Wolves. Cole Aldrich can concentrate on D while Jeff carries the post up offensive load.#2Jefferson ($13M) to Philadelphia for Andre Iguodala ($12.3M)Iggy has 3 years and a player option left. Jefferson has 3 years left. Philly has Evan Turner in the fold and he and Iggy share many skills, but that might not be enough to pry Iguodala away from Philly. Not to mention the 3 years and $50M worth of Elton Brand that would get pushed to the bench. Another possibility in Philly is Nocioni ($6.9M) and Willie Green ($3.9M) and a 1st round pick. Nocioni has 2 years and Willie Green is expiring. The main problem here is Brand. I'm not sure if they'd be interesting in buying him out or not.#3Jefferson ($13M) and Corey Brewer ($3.7M) for Michael Redd ($18.3) and a 1st round pick (protected?)Milwaukee has added Maggette and Chris Douglas-Roberts as well as re-signing John Salmons, so there doesn't seem to be a place for Redd. Redd's $18.3M contract is an option year he invoked for the upcoming season. He's coming off of ACL surgery and likely won't be ready at the beginning of the year. The Wolves can try a half a year of Redd and see if he's got anything left. Or use him as a trade chip. The Bucks get 20/10 guy inside to play with Bogut. However, they just draft Larry Sanders, so I guess it depends on how much they plan on playing him early. Any of them look feasible?so with beasley off to Minnesota that likely means that AlJeff is the next player to be traded. Where does he go?

I saw that - they really going to try and run Gomes as a starting 3? Oh, he'll be here. If you hit him over the head with a tire iron, lit him on fire and dropped him out of a plane on to a remote island in the South Pacific, he'd learn morse code and tap into a Fijian server to start a Most Awesome Utensil draft.Ok its a bet. I trust you and I will still be here in a year so we don't need anyone holding our money. I trust you will pay.I'll take your bet. $100. How should we do this?Ill take under 65 wins for anyone who wants to bet.

I'm taking tongs at the back end of the 1st round and laughing my way to the title. That isn't what I wrote...This is what I wrote:From you "Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen joined the Rockets to team up with Clyde/Hakeem"
. Apologies if the Barkley >> Clyde/Hakeem and Pippen >> Hakeem/Barkley division wasn't clear enough. I thought it would be self-evident. Holding on to Varejao doesn't make much sense. By the time this team has at challenging for a playoff spot (don't even think about a title) Varejao will be close to the end of his contract and getting towards the end of his career (I don't think his game is going to age well). Their only "assets" are expiring contracts (West, Parker, Telfair) and Hickson. I use the term assets very lightly... the expiring deals only total about $8M and Hickson, while decent, isn't exactly a coveted player. Best plan: Sell everything they can for picks. Buy picks in the draft. There is no way they can build a contending team through trades. It will have to come from the draft. Use the OKC blue print and stock pile as many picks as possible. Also, anyone want to play armchair GM for the Cavs? I'd start dumping salaries immediately at this point (if possible) and focus on a 3-5 year rebuilding plan. The only guys I could see trying to hold on to are Varejao and maybe Hickson (Cavs fans are welcome to correct this - if they're sober right now). Then again I might send Varejao over to the Magic for peanuts out of spite if I were Gilbert. There's no way Gilbert can make good on his "promise" of a championship any time soon.

I get South Beach. And the Heat have a great chance to win a title but could have some defensive deficiencies that could make the vulnerable. If they take similar deals to join the Bulls with Rose and Noah, they are a near certainty to dominate the league beginning in 2011 and stretching past the length of their contracts. James would break league assist records with Rose, Wade, Bosh, and Noah finishing off his dimes. Yeah, I know Rose would be another ball handler on a team that doesn't need one but he would be able to work on his jumper and defense to make him an elite player ready to take over for Wade in a few years as the #1 to LeBron's preferred super robin. If this was about winning, they picked the wrong team. And no, this isn't a bitter Bulls fan. I love Rose and Noah and look forward to watching them reach whatever heights they can. I just don't get the final decision in the context of winning if in fact they sign at a dollar level the Bulls could have matched.4 words...Pat Riley, South Beach. As much as i like Chicago, it cant possibly compete with the scene on South Beach. At least the type of scene that guys like this look for.And i dont get the naysayers on the Heats championship chances. Its obvious that LeBron doesnt want to be the guy taking the last shot. He would rather be the facilitator a la Magic (when Jabbar wasnt hurt). He'll gladly pass up the big shot to Wade. If they can find 1 decent big guy and a quick PG to play solid D, they'll be virtually unstoppable.Joakim Noah would have been perfect. Oh wait, I hear the big 3 could have been Bulls if in fact they are signing for 10-11 million. Why didn't they do that again?Shaq is exactly what they don't want in Miami. They will be best running a fast break- practically unstoppable. Why do you want a big guy clogging up the lane?I posted this in the other thread, but meant to post it here. I bet Shaq is burning up the phone lines trying to get Miami to sign him to a league minimum contract.

I didn't hear the press conference today at 1pm, but sounds like Grant doesn't totally have a plan yet. They'll definitely get rid of the main current asset in West right now and I'd guess possibly look to move other pieces later in the season. Hickson would be easily moveable now for good value (I don't care what anyone says) but the Cavs should hold him as it should only go up. Windhorst says Gilbert put Grant in a tough spot with the letter. But I think people are taking that a bit wrong...he implied James took "the curse" with him. So therefore, he won't win at all, and therefore the Cavs will win before James. At least that's how I took it. Not very realistic since the Heat are VERY likely going to win at least one title.Heat also trying to convince Cavs to SnT even though they have nothing to offer but a trade exception (I think). No way Gilbert puts 30+ million into Lebron's pocket. lolAlso, anyone want to play armchair GM for the Cavs? I'd start dumping salaries immediately at this point (if possible) and focus on a 3-5 year rebuilding plan. Makes sense - wonder if they'll be able to swallow their pride enough to pull something like that off. Varejao's contract isn't that bad and he does give you something, so you'd have to get good value for him if you were going to deal him. Mo and Jamison should be gone pronto.Boy did Byron make a bad decision. In the end it looks like the Lakers will end up with the smarter guy to HC after Phil's done in Shaw.Holding on to Varejao doesn't make much sense. It's a bad team without either young upside or cap flexibility. I don't think expiring contracts will be as valuable an asset this season as last. With no championship and no Lebron, the worst case scenario of the Jamison trade has played out. With 2/$28M to go, I don't think it's a seller's market for Jamison. Mo Williams proved during his time with the Bucks that he's not the PG you want to have running a bad team.Varejao is really their only trade chip but dealing him hurts the team now because they don't have many other bigs to fill the gap.Makes sense - wonder if they'll be able to swallow their pride enough to pull something like that off. I dunno what the long-term implications would be of scenario #1 (how does it affect money available to resign Westbrook, etc) but getting Jefferson for Collison, Mo Pete, and a pick that is likely to be in the high 20s would be unbelievable. Thunder would be the second best team in the West. I dunno if it fits into Presti's vision for the team but it sure would be sweet.Notorious T.R.E. said:THAT STUFF WAS GOLD JERRYFrostillicus said:#1Kill me.#2Kill me.#3Kill me.Notorious T.R.E. said:Three scenarios I've put together by looking at salaries on hoopshype:
Not yet. I'm thinking somewhere mid season there'll be a "contender" or two needing front line help that'll be interested. Similarly with Mo. Though by that point they may have reduced their trade value through playing half a season without James.Eephus said:It's a bad team without either young upside or cap flexibility. I wouldn't think so but who knows with Kahn. Jefferson is vastly underrated though, doesn't seem like he is very highly thought of. Seems to me Jefferson plays like his body is much more beat up than his age. He plays no defense either. Love also doesn't D up, which is why they're so bad on the floor together.I wouldn't think so but who knows with Kahn. Griffin is still eligible for ROY. And like I said earlier the Clips look good on paper, but that's happened so many times before. Gomes plays the 3, but I don't think you want him starting there. Maybe the TWolves fans can chime in again? Maybe the Clips are saving cap space so they can get shunned by Anthony next offseason. He will still be eligible for ROY, correct?Doesn't Gomes play the 3?
