Korver had an incredible shooting quarter against the Lakers. He was lights out. I don't watch the guy enough to know how good he is overall, but he was awfully good in that quarter.
Korver is a better 3 point shooter than Miller and that's about it. I am pretty sure Korver shot over 50 % from 3 during the regular season (Miller shot 48 % I believe). There is a reason why Korver is used strictly as a 3 point specialist. He is the best in the league in his role, but that is his only role. He is really going to help Chicago, who seemed to be lacking a great 3 point shooter.
Ya because when you hear the name Mike Miller you think of all around talent.
Actually, yes. Most do.

"Korver>Miller IMO"I thought that's what you wrote. And Miller averaged 10 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, and 1.5 3's a game. And his percentages were great: 50.1 FG % (48 % 3's) 82.4 FT %. Those are very good all around numbers.

Beasley traded because of Delonte West

Beasley traded
:goodposting: That's hilarious, but you didn't do the story justice -- Michael Beasley's dad is insisting that LeBron had the Heat trade Beasley because he looks so much like Delonte West. :lmao:

In fairness to the crazy dad, their pictures in that story do look a lot alike.

I thought it was pretty obvious since the link I provided showed Beasley's Dad's tweet.

True. I just know that I don't click on all links. I'm assuming others pick & choose which links to click as well. I just didn't want anybody to miss the awesomeness of the story you found. :goodposting:

Derek Fisher on his way to Miami to talk about playing with the Heat.
The Heat shouldn't offer him anything but a minimum contract. They need to save any little bit of cash they have left on defensive front court players. Fisher is slower than molasses.
He won't sign for the minimum - the Lakers are already offering around $2.5 million per. He wants $5 million per for 2 years guaranteed. I figure that's what Miami will have to offer for starters if they want him to seriously consider it. I'd like to think this is just a bargaining ploy on his part to put pressure on Buss, but who knows. There isn't exactly a "Ron Artest" floating around out there to fill the gap if Buss doesn't want to play Fisher's game.

2.5 per is too much for the heat. Fisher routinely gets run by on D. No need for him at all for the Heat.

I'd really like to see the Heat resign Udonis. Maybe a little kickback from Wade, Bosh, and LeBron and it'll happen.
Don't think there is a shot that happens. Haslem will command way too much money, and he has made it known he is going to the highest bidder. I can see him making anywhere from 5-8 mil per.

Haslem would be very valuable on the Heat. But he isnt going to play for nothing.

At this point it's all about the intangibles with Fish. He's the glue/rock you need on teams like that.

Couldn't the heat sign him for the minimum w/ a clause in the K guarantying him a front office position upon retirement at 5-8 million per year?

I'd like to see that, too. Haslem has been a solid contributor to the Heat & class act in the community even if he does never smile.I may sound like a noob here, but what are the rules regarding the bolded part? Would anything prevent the players from siging for their max (ex. Wade under the Bird exemption) and then all chipping in "off the books" to help pay the difference for contributors that could get more on the open market like Mike Miller? Or would Wade, James, etc. have to take less "on the books" so the Heat have that money to spread around? Help me out here.

"It's still surreal, man," Wade said earlier. "Me, Chris and 'Bron. We ready. We want to go to the gym now."

Whats stopping them from getting in the gym? It was said today while Lebron, Wade and Bosh are partying in Miami, Kobe is working in LA. And I cant stand Kobe.

I gotta imagine it is prohibited by the CBA, not to mention Udonis could never risk that because I can't see it being contractually enforceable.

Working on what? His tan? I don't believe for one second any of these guys are doing anything other than crushing ### and drinking hypnotique.

I think all four of the guys you mentioned work pretty hard. I've never heard of any of them being out of shape.

I'm curious what Carmelo Anthony thinks about all of this. He's always been linked with LeBron in a way. Will he leave Denver after next year? And where will he end up? On the team that wants to pay the most? Or is there another potential "superteam" on the horizon?

Tim, there is a big difference between being in shape and working on your game. Lebron James is going into his 8th year, where is his post up game? Kobe has one. Having another GREAT perimeter guy like Wade playing with him it would behoove Lebron to post up more. Lets see if he comes back from the summer with an improved game.

I dont think Melo is going anywhere. 3 years and $65 million is going to look pretty good to him soon enough.

Then do you think the Nuggets will acquire better parts around him in order to surpass the Lakers?

Why? He hasnt shown that he can do it yet. Who was the great post player in Cleveland that has prevented Lebron from posting up the last 7 years?

They will try. Its not always going to be a convergience of circumstances that allow players like Lebron, Wade and Bosh to come together. Its not an every year occurrence.

PG: Rose

SG: Korver

SF: Deng, Johnson

PF: Boozer, Gibson

C: Noah, Asik

Still need a backup ballhandler and a solid 2 defender and should have close to 10 million to do so depending on the Asik contract. Asik is limited offensively but apparently has the size, strength, and athleticism to be a quality post defender, rebounder, and shot blocker. Could be the solid back up center the Bulls need. Korver is a solid addition. Boozer give this team what they have needed for years. He is limited against length on offense and defense but the Bulls will be a much better team when he is on the floor. Noah and Boozer will own the boards night in and night out.

In the end though, this team is on Rose's shoulders. If he joins the elite class of players this year like many expect, the Bulls could be a significant challenge for the top 3 teams in the East.

It'd be fun to see him end up with CHI or ORL somehow. Rather see him stay in DEN and get some help, but going somewhere to knock off the Miami Slumber Party would be fun too.

Bird and Magic worked on their game every summer. Rumor was that Bird shot left handed one whole summer to improve his game.

Not sure where the parts will come from. Need to find a big man somehow? Maybe they will go more small ball. If the light would ever turn on for JR Smith, that would be a big help. It's not like the Nuggets are the little sisters of the poor here. Plus the Suns and Jazz got weaker.

Have you ever played basketball? I'm not asking to be insulting, I ask because playing with your back to the basket is very, very different than playing facing the basket. I think it's rare that players develop a post game 7 years into their NBA career.

It's a pretty good team. I would be a little concerned about Korver as a starter- isn't he a specialist? I love the addition of Boozer though. I think this team could go deep in the playoffs depending who they match up against. They still are going to have big problems if they face Orlando, simply because of the height advantage. But they could surprise a team like Miami and really give them a series.

Never played basketball except for fun. So you're not being insulting, and I see your point. Still, wouldn't you say that even if LeBron doesn't post up more, his game will still be altered somewhat with his new teammates? That's really what I meant.

His game will unquestionably be altered, just not necessarily in that way IMO. It's possible but not likely. Michael Jordan is the only player I know of who developed a post game into his NBA career.

They should have pushed hard for j oneal, he was exactly what they need, a dude that can defend and rebound an allow nene to play pf for 20 minutes a game. 104.3 was saying it sounds likely that anderson and martin are going to be out until close to the all star break, they have to grab a decent big to fill in for big minutes. Who are the remaining decent bigs left? Sadly I think kwame brown would be a decent fit for 15 minutes a game because he's so big and can kind of defend and rebound. I think ike diogu would be a steal for somebody if he's healthy.

That isn't what I wrote...This is what I wrote:

. Apologies if the Barkley >> Clyde/Hakeem and Pippen >> Hakeem/Barkley division wasn't clear enough. I thought it would be self-evident. If it wasn't, the passage actually would read that Barkley joined himself on the team ("Barkley and Pippen joined the Rockets to team up with Clyde/Hakeem and then Hakeem/Barkley".
Pippen never played with Clyde in Houston so saying Pippen joined the Rockets to team up with Clyde isn't quite accurate
:lmao: possibly one of the unintentionally funniest posts I've ever read on here.

Yeah I heard that as well. Looks like Martin anyway. Later they were talking about maybe an outside chance in adding Al Jefferson

I wonder if this causes the Magic to change their offensive system. They had been the 4 out/1 in with Dwight...but with the Heat adding Lebron and Wade you have to consider changing that, no? Wade and Lebron will dominate the perimeter defensively, I would think even if they have to double Dwight. Magic just won't get many open looks.

Heat will clearly be lacking something on the interior on defense, no matter who they sign...do the Magic consider changing their offense and playing Gortat next to Dwight? Or trying to create a package including Gortat for an offensive player like Al Jefferson?

I just can't imagine them standing still on this.
