*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (5 Viewers)

John calipari point guards have two rookie of the years, one second place Roy, and one MVP between them in the last three years. So im inclined to say that getting the next one at number eight is a solid pick.

Ya, there was much discussion of Jazz taking Knight at 3 or at least trading down with the Pistons or someone else.

This logic would also suggest that getting John Thompson big man Othella Harrington, successor to Ewing, Mutombo and Mourning, was an absolute coup at #30 overall for the Houston Rockets back in the 90s.

Otha la actually was somewhat productive in the NBA.
I know he wasn't terrible. Just messing around. Although I really am not a huge fan of the logic, or of Knight. He shot a far worse percentage from the field in college than Wall, Rose and Evans. He also had a worse A/TO ratio than Wall and Rose (and Evans doesn't appear to be an NBA PG). And the steals aren't there either. My gut tells me that he's the beneficiary of the Calipari PG lineage and a nice run of a couple games in the spotlight in March, but that ultimately he's not that good. Just one man's opinion.

Monta IMO will go to a team with a legit chance at the playoffs or even the finals.
And then shatter that teams hopes by taking 15 bad shots a game?
Maybe if there were some better offensive players around Monta, he wouldn't have to take so many shots, bad and otherwise.
Good point, we wouldn't want superior offensive players like Lee or Curry taking shots, or more efficient scores like Williams and Wright parading around like they can actually score.

Barkley says he doesn't think there will be any NBA games next year.
That would stun me. The NBA is not the NFL. They will lose a lot of fans if they miss a year. The gains made this year would completely disappear and then some. I think both sides know this.

No it's not the NFL. Most of the teams are losing money. Many of The owners would literally be better off if the NBA ceased to exist.

Anyway, how about Courtney lee and Jordan hill to Minnesota for al Jefferson?

exactly...the owners have much less to lose. unlike the nfl many teams are truly incurring losses. add in the fact that a few afe also nhl owners who have seen first hand how missing an entire season can completely realign player salaries for the long term i am inclined to think that best case scenario is a half season played.

If there is no NBA, I'm really going to miss Herd's insane trade offers.

Abaherd > nobody wants Jordan Hill. He ####ing sucks. Stop it.

LOL ... Warriors lack offensive threats, that's a new one. They can't even get Reggie Williams on the court half of the time and he was an absolute beast as a rookie.

It would make a lot more sense to give whoever decides to join this league the top picks for picking up a ####ty team than saying they get the 16th or 22nd best pick of the draft this year...just a thought.

Just natural progression of the serpentine draft. If you compare those teams to NBA teams they look bad, but considering the ENTIRE NBA was dispersed among 30 teams they don't look so bad IMO. These are both middle of the road teams in the Build a Basketball Franchise Draft League.

I was gonna say...it's not like they're going up against the real life Heat or Celtics or anyone...no team really has multiple superstars or anything on it.

2 of the worst teams i have ever seen!!
Seriously, that Bulls team? At least 10 legit rotation players, a top tier player in Williams and a strong wing in Wallace ... The other one is meh, sure.
If Oden can actually play a full NBA season or lock out shortened season that team jumps into the elite tier.
When Kurt Thomas retires though, that team will surely go into the tank
Good thing they have the 22nd and 39th pick in the rookie/14th round veteran draft. Care to take over a team of your choice and wow us with your NBA wisdom?

how about Luke Harangody and Alonzo Gee for Courtney Lee and 10 lbs of smoked brisket?

No, I dont know #### about the NBA. I start watching in April. :lmao: ...I will say though, sticking with these NBA threads the last couple months, Kev20209er knows his #### as good as any paid FBG for football IMO. I wouldnt be surprised if dudeman is a scout or something

Umm...because a 21 year old has a lot more potential than a 27 year old?
I know but he should have known that people will find out
Would you rather get drafted and have people find out, maybe still getting a chance...or not get drafted at all?

Clutch info from the draft.

Rockets were trying to move up in to the t op 6 to get the Jonas guy. Would have taken him as high as 2 (!!!)

Almost had a deal for Biedrens from golden state.

Had a deal in place for the #8 with Detroit if bismack were available.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not.... if its not, thank you.

Simmons has David Kahn on his BS Report post draft. Forty minutes. Fascinating.
Interesting tidbit was Kahn said he turned down S. Kerr when he was approached about a A.Jefferson/Amare swap a few years back. This was right after A. Jefferson tore his ACL.Just shocked that Kahn would do an interview like this with Rambis' status still up in the air.Whole interview was akward.

Yea, especially because he was listed as being born in 1984 on the Qatar team roster. Why does this mean he was ineligible to be drafted?

This makes me feel not quite so awful as a Raptors fan... but still not expecting much.
