You're missing my boy, Alex Hannum. He should be above Wilkens, Nelson, Cunningham, and Sharman, at the very least.
 I am missing Hannum. Bad oversight on my part. I'd insert Hannum in at #5, right behind Popovich and ahead of Sharman. Move the old 5-9 down one, and bump Wilkens out of the top 10.
:hifive:

IMO, last night's shenanigans should result in:Flagrant 1 for Hansborough. It was a hard foul, but Psycho T was clearly going for the ball and I don't see malicious intent.Flagrant 2, and 1 game suspension for Haslem. I don't think Udonis was going for the ball at all, but he at least tried to fake it.Flagrant 2, and 6 game suspension for Pittman. This was worse than Artest or Bynum's elbows, IMO. He intentionally went for a head shot away from the ball.
Agree 100%

What has been pretty amazing is how Lebron has adjusted and sliced and diced the Pacers getting everyone involved. There was a 2 game adustment. When you lose a guy like Bosh who is a critical piece to the puzzle and your entire gameplan goes out the window....you must make adjustments. Spo, Lebron and Wade have answered the call.

What is getting lost in all the banter is how Lebron has adjusted and now has complete control of his game and getting everyone else on the same page.

Brilliant basketball by a brilliant talent.

Screw the haters....we are watching an artist at work here. And Wade has answered the bell after two sheer days of warranted hell after game 3.

The Heat are back and when they get Bosh back healthy.....they are going to battle again for another title.

Championships are earned....the Heat fell short last year in a great series to Dallas. They will fight hard again in the Eastern Conference Finals, and the Finals. For all the haters and there are so many, who expects teams in the post season to roll over? The heat sure plays knowing they have to earn that ring. Those guys give 100%, hustle and play hard all the time. I am so tired of the BS contrived hate on this team. They work hard. They don't feel entitled. they are laser focused. Those of us who have rooted for thisteam since inception (1988) are thrilled and elated we have such quality basketball ever since Riley came down and remolded this team not once, not twice, not three times....but now for the 4th time. It's been a joy watching Heat basketball for over 15 years. Some tough lean years sprinkled in during Rileys tenure as coach and GM some extremem heartbreak. But nothing short of hard nosed, disciplined basketball.

Go Heat!!!
:goodposting: I'm looking forward to the OKC/SAS series and then the winner facing the Heat in the finals. Any of those three teams can do it and I have no idea who I like best right now.

(If I had to rank, I'd go 1. SAS, 2. Heat (w/ Bosh healthy) 3. OKC)
Is there a time table on this? This could bite them in the ### against even the C's. Without him I'd say a top tier team would crush them.
It has been dead slience on Chris down here. He has not even done a minute of court work yet. Best case scenario is game one against either Boston or Philly (if they perform a miracle), but more likely game 3-4 of the conference finals. The best news was the MRI was negative on a tear. It is a strain. But if you know abdominal strains they take a while to heal up. Bosh will not be 100% at all till next season.

As far as the Heat matching up with Boston without Bosh. It will be a very tough series indeed. KG has been a rabid dog this past month or so. He will really be tough to deal with.....but our own junk yard dog Haslem is a heck of a defender and can shake KG out of his game enough to help slow him down. Lebron will abuse Pierce IMO. It's all about Rondo and making sure we keep him out of the paint as much as we can. That to me is the bigest key to the series.

I expect Bosh to return though for the conference finals.

But let's close this thing out tomorrow night (The Heat). Then we can really talk about it more when it is a reality. I don't want to jinx the Heat at all.

And I am hoping for a Philly win tonight to give Bosh some more time.

But I would love....love a conference finals match-up vs Boston. It will be an epic series.

Can't say I disagree with any of the selections, including the Howard over Chandler for 1st team. Howard's a better defender IMO.

Boston is just so beat up right now I'm not sure they could even stretch it out to 6 against Miami. Too bad too, because I'd like to see what they could do healthy against Miami, last year looked like it was going to be a tight series before Wade took Rondo out. But Ray can barely walk, Pierce is hurting, Bradley is hurt too and has been the guy who really seems neutralize Wade. That's assuming they can get by Philly who I think still has a shot at this series just because Boston's so beat up.

http://courtvisionanalytics.com/behold-the-worst-shooters-of-2012/

The above image summarizes the players who are the least efficient shooters from different spots on the court. Now, before we get too far, in some cases these aren’t “the worst shooters” in the NBA, but they are the worst in these particular zones. I’ve divided up the court into 8 3-point areas, 8 midrange areas, and 1 close-range area. Then I evaluated shooting performances in each area to discover who was the worst in each zone. I also included a minimum number of attempts for each area, but that number varies by zone. Regardless, the names and faces you see above each meet two criteria: 1) they shoot a lot in that area, and 2) they shoot very poorly there.

Some of the results are surprising. For me the most notable is Bynum, who is awful from inner midrange areas on his right. Andrew Bynum had a “breakout” year this year; he shot 56% from the field, good enough for 4th in the NBA. However, he only shoots 22% in that short midrange area, which is really bad.

But perhaps the worst shooting performance of the year belongs to Amare Stoudemire, who shot an abysmal 16% in the outer midrange area just off the right elbow area. Amare shot over 60 times from this area, and made less than 1 out of every 6 attempts here. With apologies to my Knicky friends, no fires need to be extinguished when Stat is taking longish midrange jumpers on his right side. On a related note, Amare’s performance in this zone is a great example of why shooting evaluations must account for both distance and direction. Amare is actually quite good from this exact area on his left, but this effect would be overlooked if we simply evaluated his shooting from 16-23 feet and neglected the effect of angle.

3 more interesting findings:

1) Rubio has trouble finishing. There’s no doubt that Ricky Rubio is going to be very good in the NBA (as long as his body holds up). But, great NBA point guards like Rose, CP3, and even Rondo are very effective close range scorers; this is a skill that Rubio needs to work on; he is currently the least effective close range shooter in the league.

2) Danny Granger appears twice. I like Granger’s game, but one troubling stat is that his FG% has decreased every year since he’s been in the NBA. He has the ability to get good looks, especially in the midrange, but he needs to work on his efficiency in these areas if he is going to become an elite player.

3) Some great scorers have really cold zones. In the figure above we see Deron Williams, Russ Westbrook, and Jason Terry. I consider all of these guys to be effective scorers overall, yet each guy is clearly struggling at particular places. As we’ve seen in earlier posts on Kevin Love and LeBron, some of the most dangerous scorers in the league can be very non-threatening in certain places. However, one of the traits that separates great volume shooters from good or average volume shooters is spatial consistency. This is what makes guys like Durant special; he will never be on a graphic like the one above; he has few cold spots.

In conclusion, these are not all bad shooters, but each of the guys above had a really bad year from a certain spot. In the next post, I will crown the worst shooter in the NBA.

Iguodala should have gotten in there at 2nd team guard (sorry Kobe). I know most of his minutes are at forward, but that never stopped them in the center/forward voting before. Also think Garnett should have gotten first team over Ibaka.

If you had told me 10-12 years ago that three members of the 2000 Florida Gators would be rotation players on NBA teams making deep playoff runs in 2012, not only would I not have believed you, I wouldn't have been able to guess which three players you were talking about on my first couple of tries.
Brett Nelson? Donnell Harvey?

Chris Bosh update.

Today Bosh said he feels much better and the rehab has been excellent. He won't be available for game 6 but expects to back very soon.

So if there were a game 7...I expect bosh to be in uniform but not start.

He will be ready for the conference finals.

Different sets of people vote for DPOY and All-Defensive team I think. Writers for the former and coaches for the latter.

Broussard reporting that the Magic will meet with Shaq about their open GM position
Probably shouldn't pay too much attention to coaching rumors before a GM is hired, but ORL will interview Jerry Sloan, and has permission from IND to interview Brian Shaw after the season, as well as permission from LAL to interview Quin Snyder. From that list, Sloan obviously has the best resume and could still probably take each of the other two in octagon fights under standard UFC rules. Shaw is probably the best fit for the current roster.

If ORL hires Shaq as GM and Snyder as head coach, I'm projecting the Magic to go 7-75 in 2014.
Under for a G please.

It's hard not to have an exciting game for game 7, but this series seems like it might.

Neither of these teams stands a chance of winning the championship so maybe that's it?

How can you not pull for the 6ers? Obviously they've gotten some breaks, but Doug Collins having these guys 1 game from the ECFs great stuff. GO PHILLY!

I'm pumped to see Kobe earn his 12th All-Defense selection.

The NBA showed what a joke this voting is, I think everybody knows that Kobe doesn't deserve to be voted in anymore but having Chandler win DPOY and not make first team is ####### ridiculous. They might as well just eliminate the All-Defense team because its just about completely arbitrary and nobody takes the voting seriously. I also think they were a year late on voting Allen to the first team, he was a much better defender from what I saw last year.

Why should coaches have to abide by the media's choice for DPOY?

Really pulling for Shaq to get the job. On balance, the entertainment value of having Jordan and Shaq as NBA GM's would be even greater than the Isiah years.

(sorry Premier)

I am I guess. But Boston is crippled so it seems less fun, and the offense in this matchup is so bad.

I find Boston's offense of a pick and roll where Garnett takes a 20 footer every time down the floor to be a thing of beauty. Or maybe the few times where Pierce has an iso and takes a Kobe level fade away jumper. That's pretty sweet too.Did Boston score any points at the rim last night? It's not too difficult to shoot under 30% when everything is a contested jumpshot.

You realize that these are two different sets of voters.. right? The media rewarded Chandler, the coaches picked Ibaka. Do you want them to have a conference call to collaborate?

From there, Kobe isn't nearly the most eggregious inclusion. Chris Paul first team all NBA? He might be the third best guard on his team when it comes to defense.....

As bad as the 1st half of last night's game was, the ESPN radio call of it was the worst radio play by play I've ever heard. Jack Ramsey and the other guy - I can't really describe how bad it was. Not only did they cover about 1/3 of what was going on in the game, it was like they were having a contest to see who could form thoughts and speak them the slowest. They made John Ireland sound like Chick Hearn.

I get into the car to drive home from work and realize they're actually broadcasting a game instead of the usual drive time sports talk. My initial thought was - what a treat! About five minutes in I was thinking listing to Steven A. Smith's god awful yammering would have been an improvement. That's how bad it was.
