*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (3 Viewers)

Blast. More fake twitter accounts. Zambrello had ESPN850 in CLE fooled.

Never trust any internet source with an "L" a "1" or an "i" in it. :wall:

@WojYahooNBA: LeBron James left the meeting without committing to a deal with the Heat, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

Wouldn't it be funny if he announced he was going to Europe for a couple or weeks and would decide later. The nba would be frozen.

Which team for LeBron, given its current roster, is most likely to win a championship next year: Miami, Cleveland, or another destination willing to pay him the amount he wants?

I'm betting that this is the closest to the truth, that LeBron hasnt decided himself yet.
And Bosh has 72 hours to take Houston deal.
James will decide before then for sure.

LeBron's next move will be talking this all over with his family before making a decision, the Herald can confirm.

I find it fascinating that people think Cleveland's young guys are so much better than Miami Role players.

Irving isn't a superstar, Wiggins still needs to prove himself at the NBA level. Waiters has potential, but if they sign LeBron, he's got to be the first out the door.
Why would a backup shooting guard who can handle the ball be the first out the door?
I think he'll be the odd man out. A 22 year old SG who can score is in high demand. Come contract time, someone's going to offer way more than he's worth. Wiggins is already going to eat into his playing time this season. Adding LeBron would be even more so.
Small ball with Irving, waiters, wiggins, Lebron and a corpse at center would be fun.
I could see this group averaging 100 points a game, since only LeBron plays D. Lets Mike D'antioni on the phone.
One of Wiggins biggest selling points is his D.
To who, hoes or joes?

It seems to me that Miami remains the best choice for LeBron for several reasons:

1. He can win the championship at Miami next year, because he's developed chemistry with his teammates. If he goes to Cleveland or anywhere else, it will probably take at least a year for the team to gel together.

2. In future years Miami is much more likely to attract other big name free agents than Cleveland will, even with LeBron there. LeBton might like living in Cleveland but history has shown that most free agent stars are attracted to warm weather.

3. I hate to admit this as a Laker fan, but LeBron would be stupid to come to the Lakers or to any team in the west, when the east provides him a much easier path to the championship.

I am not predicting what this guy will decide; like everyone else I have no idea and nothing would shock me at this point. But I think the smart move is to stay put.

Carmelo Anthony - F - Knicks

Carmelo Anthony will re-sign with the Knicks "barring a last minute change of heart," according to the NY Daily News.

The report adds Anthony had been "agonizing over this" for the past week. "He will have something for everybody on Thursday," an anonymous friend of Anthony said. "He is really torn because this is the biggest decision of his career. But he wants to get it done in New York. He told me he believes in Phil." The Knicks are likely going to have a tough time winning a title this season because of the contracts of Amare Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani, but things will get better next year. Hopefully this news becomes official and more free agents can agree on deals. Additionally, Yahoo! reported just minutes following this news that Anthony circle believes it's always possible to ask for a trade later.

Me - :confetti:TGunz -
Yeah - instead of Melo we end up giving 4 yr, 8 figure deals to knuckle heads like Lance and Chandler Parsons. Overpaying role players is the WORST thing you can do in today's NBA.
If that is how you feel that Kobe contract must really sting.
:lmfao:

Oh my....

nobody cares

I come here to see who signed where. Not read about why L. James should sign here or there. We don't know what is going on in his head or where his wife might want him to go and whatnot.

Maybe this isn't the thread for you. They have this cool new app called the twitter. It's really popular for formal announcement type stuff. If they don't have the internet, I suggest ESPN. They're unlikely to be scooped by footballguys.com free for for all when the word is made official.

There are 75000 posts here. If you're looking for news rather than a surplus of random BS, you couldn't possibly come up with a worse plan.

Not really. For many teams, it's the best route.

Whether it's a small market team that has to use the money on somebody, or a contender that's going to be over the cap anyway.

Or teams paying out the legacy years on an old star and won't compete anyway.

Overpaying on a 3-4 year deal isn't a big deal for most teams.

@SI_ChrisBallard: SOURCES: Tim Duncan also dealing with difficult decision tonight: Wear three championship rings or five?

I feel like Bron has 48 hours to make a decision before he started to get #hated again.

It sucks that silence leads to this amount of media speculation. But you have to take the good with the bad. Cavs and Heat fans are about to have a show-down soon!

Follow the money.

Cleveland Cavaliers now 7/1 to win 2015 NBA Championship @WilliamHillUS & 8/1 @CGTechnology
Heat odds? If we're following this money this would be without James/Bosh and I assume excludes the reported jack coming in on Cleveland. Should be deep dogs right?
That Jack deal was horrible for Cleveland. That franchise is a mess unless LeBron has already agreed to something with them...
