*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

I don't know why he doesn't go to the Lakers

He already has the rings, why not lead the Lakers back to the promised land and be involved with battling the best teams in the league night after night(including a good crosstown rival) playing for one of the great franchises in the history of the league. This seems to be a much better way to cement his status as the best ever. All the LA benefits as well - TV, movies, clothing.
Makes sense to me!! :excited:
Lakers are my team and I like Lebron for the most part but I wouldn't want him. Would almost be boring to win titles with him. Easy to say of course because I've seen the Lakers win plenty of times. If I was a Knicks fan I'm sure I would feel differently.

Getting Shaq was different. He was only 25 and in his 5th season. He hadn't won before. Not so much water under the bridge.

I know Kareem won a title with the Bucks. But his next with the Lakers was a long time after and those were Magics' teams anyway.

If Kevin Durant was a FA I'd be all over that. Lebron not so much.

I agree, they are almost perfect complements. LeBron can get the ball to Love where he can score, LeBron can work the perimeter defense and Love can rebound and make great outlet passes. Kyrie just runs around and gets buckets.
Now that I think about it, I really, really want this to happen.

I'd like to see that team. I also want to see Melo in Chicago and Bosh in Houston. That would make for 2 really good teams in the East and another stacked squad in the West. I'd love to see the playoffs after a season with those teams.

I bet the T-Wolves are really hoping LeBron picks CLE. Varejao + Wiggins + 29/30th for Love isn't bad at all. Especially if they can flip Verejao for more youth and Wiggins lives up to his hype.

I need a new 500-word document from timcrochet on why Carmelo Anthony should choose New York, Chicago or Sacramento.

Extra police being called in to reenforce security around LeBron's home in Bath, per his request. Saying announcement coming tonight.

Todem, you still 100% bro?

It's not Lebron's fault the media and the rest of the NBA is all waiting on him. He's waited a couple days to decide where he'll spend the next 5 years of his life. Big deal.
Pretty sure all these hot sport takes is just what the media circle jerk is after.
What is this stupid schtick that you guys keep blatantly overusing?
It was quite the rage among geeks a month ago. Then they moved on to calling games matches and teams sides. In America we say games and teams. If you are American you don't say matches and sides.

Is Varejao part of the rumored offer? Who plays Center for the Cavs then?

Thompson and Wiggins makes more sense. Unless there is a cap issue at play.

Can they make it work cap-wise without him? Haven't messed with NBA trade app yet.

Thompson would be my guess, unless they can sign a quality vet ring chaser on the cheap like a J.O'Neal?

Why the #### does Lebron still have a house in Akron. He should be getting more #### for that. Akron?
I don't know where exactly his house is, but it isn't in Akron. It's basically in the national park between there and Cleveland. Rich neighborhood.

Yeah, looks like Varejao might have to go in that deal. Which I think hurts the Cavs pretty bad this season.

If you go to the very bottom of Lebronjames.com and click the "Like Lebron James on Facebook" link, it will tell you where he's going to play next year. :pickle:

You folks think the Rockets should match the Dallas offer for Parsons? I guess with Bird rights it may make sense if Bosh comes to town. If not, you have to wonder why they let him become an RFA and not take another cheap year. $15mm/yr is f'n ridiculous.

White. Hot.

Reading random tweets about helicopters landing at his place? Is there a pad there? Bringing in other players for the announcement?

They kind of have to, don't they?

Have to. Either a big FA and Parsons or just Parsons. At the very least they can trade him for some chips.

I dunno...some in the local 'know' think they may let him walk for that type of coin.

Parsons deal a bit strange. Would think he could have gotten more years. Looks like he really wants to be back on the market after 2015/16 season.

Fewer years, higher per year. I'm sure Dallas pressed for 3 to have the deal end when Dirk does so they can rebuild or have a ton of cap space for free agents.

Rockets. - wait for bosh until Saturday morning then tell him to decide. He says yes, sign him and match. He says no, complete the sixers trade, make the Asik trade be for Anderson, sign lance to 4/45, match parsons.

If that happens, somebody really screwed up.

Peyton Marino, go take $100 and put it on Any Other Team at $220. You either break even and beat Tim in the public forum or you get paid.

Judge taught me everything I know.

Good post... until Lance. Why pay a 6th man 11mil?

He would start next to harden. The Houston offense has a point guard only in so much as they need a perimeter defender and someone to receive the inbounds. I would bet good money that the ball crossed halfcourt in hardens possession more than anyone else last year.

Beverly off the bench with jones would be a nice second unit.

Pretty sure they can do it without Varejao especially if they add Gee. I think they just need to get within 5 million of Love's salary. So Thompson and Wiggins will probably get you over $10 million right there. The big question is whether you try to make it without Wiggins or what other young guys they try and keep.

Not sure if there are more restrictions for going over the cap though. Also be interesting if they try to trade Waiters or whoever else stays for a more veteran piece. Maybe even try to get Martin from the Wolves. Starting line up of Irving, Martin, James, Love, and Varejao sounds nice. Or maybe go after Shumper or Tony Allen for defense.
